My Female Python Roommate Always Wants To Eat Me. - Chapter 19
Chapter 19
Lu Qimin’s reaction was so natural that Bai Fuxue was stunned for a moment, unable to snap back to reality.
She suddenly remembered the time when Lu Qimin was also there when Qi Zian brought her water, and she effortlessly chased Qi Zian away. The destructive power was not to be underestimated.
If Lu Qimin was with her this time as well, she would feel much more confident when facing Qi Zian.
Thinking this, Bai Fuxue felt that the suggestion was excellent.
With the thought that her troubles would soon be resolved, she smiled sweetly at Lu Qimin, her voice gentle and soft as she said, “Okay.”
Watching the little rabbit’s lips curve into a dimple for her, Lu Qimin’s heart secretly fluttered. She was incredibly pleased.
There was no reason to delay. Bai Fuxue immediately contacted Qi Zian, asking for his location and saying that she needed to see him in person about something.
He didn’t have any doubts and quickly gave her the address.
It was a cafe on campus.
The environment was secluded, and the decor had a sophisticated feel to it, a style that young people liked.
Seeing the address he chose, Bai Fuxue and Lu Qimin exchanged glances and came to the same conclusion.
Qi Zian definitely had an ulterior motive.
The two of them walked to the cafe. At the entrance, Bai Fuxue made a deal with Lu Qimin, asking to face Qi Zian alone first. If she couldn’t resolve it smoothly, she would ask for her help.
Lu Qimin’s face turned sour. She didn’t want Qi Zian to have a second to show off in front of the little rabbit.
But Bai Fuxue insisted. She finally compromised, suppressing her displeasure, and agreed.
Qi Zian had chosen a booth in the back of the cafe, far from the crowd.
After Bai Fuxue went in, Lu Qimin avoided their line of sight and sat in the adjacent booth, waiting to see what would happen.
Bai Fuxue sat down across from Qi Zian. The young man seemed very happy to see her and was eager to ask her what hot drink she wanted. He came to this cafe often and could recommend something for her.
“I’ll just have plain water.” Bai Fuxue casually placed the bag of medicine on the table, still sealed. She looked up and glanced at the boy in front of her, whose expression had stiffened a little. He had clearly put some effort into dressing up for this meeting.
He had changed out of his uniform and into his own clothes. His hair was wet and steaming, but it wasn’t from sweat. It was mixed with the scent of shampoo.
Qi Zian suppressed his frustration and put on a look of concern again. His gaze shifted from the bag of medicine.
“Class monitor, if you’re not feeling well, you can just tell me on your phone.”
He was always gentle and understanding. He would actively help anyone who was in trouble. The students in the class had a very good impression of him.
If nothing went wrong, he would still get a lot of votes when they re-elected the class representatives after military training.
Bai Fuxue shook her head: “The thing I want to talk about is better to do in person.”
Her voice was naturally soft. When she spoke to people, she rarely showed emotion. She would calmly state her requests. She was a genuine soft girl.
Even now, with her voice being cold and distant and her expression detached, Qi Zian still felt that she was not a threat and had no attack power.
Qi Zian’s fingers clenched the rim of the glass, waiting for her to continue.
Bai Fuxue closed her eyes, then opened them. Her gaze subtly flicked to the adjacent booth. Thinking that Lu Qimin was nearby, she felt an infinite sense of confidence.
She got straight to the point: “Qi Zian, you are a very comfortable classmate to be around, and I only want to remain classmates with you, without any other kind of relationship. I’m sorry, but I can’t accept the medicine you gave me.”
She made her rejection clear, blocking any possibility for Qi Zian to evade it.
She thought that by being so direct, Qi Zian would give up.
After all, he was such a considerate person.
Unexpectedly, as soon as her words fell, the young man’s expression changed dramatically. Several distinct blue veins appeared on his neck. It was as if his weak point had been touched. He couldn’t accept what was happening and became incoherent: “You haven’t gotten to know me well enough yet. How can you be so sure you don’t want to have another kind of relationship with me? Bai Fuxue, you can’t be so arbitrary.”
Qi Zian’s gentle facade had crumbled. At this moment, he looked a little scary.
Bai Fuxue shrank back in her seat uneasily, sticking to her answer: “Classmate Qi, I’m very sure that I can’t respond to your feelings.”
She felt that she had made herself clear without being too roundabout, so she didn’t want to waste any more time. She stood up and was about to leave the booth.
Seeing her leave, Qi Zian took a step forward in a rush. He put both hands on Bai Fuxue’s shoulders, not letting her move. His expression was somewhat deranged, as if he had become a different person. He repeated with his eyes wide with anger, “Get to know me a little better, seriously. You’ll definitely like me.”
He couldn’t believe that the soft-spoken Bai Fuxue would so mercilessly reject him.
She looked like a sweet girl who was easy to win over.
He had already imagined the scene where Bai Fuxue agreed to be his girlfriend. He had never considered the possibility of being rejected.
Qi Zian was completely stuck in his stubborn ways and could not accept Bai Fuxue making any choice other than agreeing to his feelings.
“What are you doing? Let go of me!” Bai Fuxue was so frightened by Qi Zian’s sudden actions that she screamed. A wave of goosebumps rose on her skin. She felt completely unfamiliar with the deranged Qi Zian in front of her.
Lu Qimin, in the next booth, heard their conversation clearly. When she heard the beginning, she wanted to pour the coffee she was holding all over Qi Zian’s face and tell him to shut his shameless mouth.
Unfortunately, she hadn’t received a signal for help from Bai Fuxue, so she had to wait for her chance in the next booth.
By now, she couldn’t hold back her temper any longer. She stepped forward and gave Qi Zian a hand chop, separating him from Bai Fuxue.
Then she asked Bai Fuxue, “A-Xue, which hand did he touch you with?”
Bai Fuxue was still immersed in Lu Qimin’s beautiful and clean hand movement. After two seconds, she told on him with both anger and resentment: “Both hands… he touched me with both of them.”
“Got it.”
Lu Qimin turned around with a cold face, a blazing fury rising in her eyes. Qi Zian, who had been a little dazed, now met Lu Qimin’s sharp gaze. His sanity returned, and he instinctively put his hands behind his back, his heart crying out in misery. How had Bai Fuxue’s friend seen what just happened?
He didn’t want to mess with this friend of hers.
He immediately lowered his head and apologized to Bai Fuxue, then started to gather his things, wanting to leave the scene.
Lu Qimin naturally wouldn’t let him go. She called out his name coldly: “Qi Zian, is that right?”
“Yeah.” His scalp felt numb.
“You scared my friend and you think you can just leave after an apology? It’s not that easy.”
She gently raised her slender fingers, drawing a distinct curve in the air.
The warm mocha flowed down the young man’s hair and face, quickly soaking his trendy white T-shirt.
Qi Zian wiped his face. He was angry but didn’t dare to say anything. He humbly asked, “What… what should I do?”
“Remember what A-Xue said. She said she doesn’t like you, so stop pretending you don’t understand.” When it came to people she didn’t like, Lu Qimin’s attitude was always the same: arrogant and fierce. She was even more impolite to Qi Zian.
“I will remember,” Qi Zian quickly promised, hiding his defiance.
But Lu Qimin seemed to have seen his arrogance.
She slowly added, with a fantastical tone in her voice, “Have you heard of the Ba Jia Xian [guardian spirits] from the Hu, Huang, Bai, and Liu clans?”
“I’ve heard my elders talk about them.”
“Our A-Xue has a similar guardian spirit.”
“If you agree but can’t do it, A-Xue’s guardian spirit will take action.”
Sweat beaded on Qi Zian’s back. A mysterious coldness spread through his body in the middle of a hot summer day.
He waited quietly, but Lu Qimin said nothing more.
He hunched his body, feeling grateful that the place was sparsely populated and no one else had heard their argument. With a final word of “get lost” from the woman, he shamefully walked out of the cafe.
