My Female Python Roommate Always Wants To Eat Me. - Chapter 20
Chapter 20
“I guess I’ve dealt with Qi Zian for now,” Bai Fuxue thought.
She watched Qi Zian’s figure disappear and shrugged her shoulders, trying to shake off the boy’s lingering body heat.
As a result, Lu Qimin walked toward her with even more disgust, brushing away the dust from her shoulders as if she were getting rid of some kind of harmful garbage. She cursed under her breath, “Ptooey, how disgusting.”
It was strange. When Lu Qimin showed her disgust so clearly, Bai Fuxue didn’t feel so bad.
Her desire to express herself came back. She leaned close to Lu Qimin and whispered in her ear: “Are the guardian spirits you mentioned real?”
There were many cultivation systems for demons, and Bai Fuxue believed that there were still many more of her kind in this world that she didn’t know about.
“No, they’re not,” Lu Qimin said with an incredibly frank tone.
Bai Fuxue’s eyes widened. “They’re not? Then will Qi Zian believe you?”
“Maybe. Some places are very superstitious.”
Even if he didn’t believe her, she would make sure he did.
She wouldn’t tell the little rabbit about her secret plans.
On the other side, in the boys’ dorm.
Qi Zian returned with his hair and clothes dirty, looking dejected. His roommates immediately asked him how his date with Bai Fuxue went.
He was too proud to admit the truth and only said that he had accidentally bumped into someone.
He went to clean himself up again.
He was in a bad mood all day long. His roommates saw this and guessed that he wanted to be left alone to process his emotions, so they didn’t bother him.
Until night, when the lights were out in the dorm, he lay on his bed with something on his mind. He couldn’t fall asleep no matter how much he tossed and turned.
He was still not resigned to his fate.
He simply opened his phone, clicked on Bai Fuxue’s profile picture to enter her Q.Q Space, and looked through the photos in the girl’s album, completely absorbed.
His feelings for her came back in full force.
The first time he saw Bai Fuxue in class, he liked her. He was also confident that his looks and the personality he displayed would quickly capture Bai Fuxue’s heart.
But Lu Qimin was an unexpected variable. He hadn’t expected Bai Fuxue to have a friend with such a personality, who had tried to chase him away on several occasions.
But he wanted to be in a relationship with Bai Fuxue, not her friend. Why did Lu Qimin have the right to stand in his way? Qi Zian was very unresigned.
He was not willing to give up just like that.
As for Lu Qimin’s threat, it was quite funny.
It was 2019. Superstition had been abolished for many years. How could there be any legends about guardian spirits? If Lu Qimin were to make something up, she should have made up something more well-known, like a planchette or a ouija board.
As he was thinking, he suddenly felt the urge to pee.
Qi Zian got up and went to the bathroom, using the moonlight to guide him.
As he was on his way back, he didn’t notice the moist, winding trail on the floor, which looked like the trail of some kind of mollusk.
He walked through the corridor and skillfully climbed the ladder to his bed.
He reached out to touch his blanket, but his hand touched something that was slippery, cold, and too thick to hold with one hand.
Some kind of creature was slithering around his palm, its body radiating a coldness that chilled him to the bone.
Qi Zian’s heart stopped. He felt as if his soul was frozen, and his mind was completely blank.
He wanted to turn on the lights. He wanted to scream for help.
But when he opened his mouth, his throat was so hoarse that he couldn’t speak. He could only manage to make a sound that was almost silent.
“Help… me…”
Unfortunately, the sound was so light that only he could hear it. His sleeping roommates had no reaction.
In the next moment, the massive creature coiled around his body. The cold snake’s head rested on his neck. It opened its mouth, and a few eerie, sharp fangs pressed against the side of his neck. The sharpest part had already pierced his skin and could completely bite through and take his life at any second.
Qi Zian felt utterly hopeless.
He struggled desperately, but the only result was that he was coiled tighter and tighter until it was difficult for him to breathe.
He came face to face with the snake, feeling his life constantly slipping away.
He would appear on the news tomorrow. The headline would probably be about a male student at Shanhai University who was bitten to death by a snake in his dorm at night.
It was too bizarre and shameful.
Through the dim moonlight, he could see the snake. It was enormous and very long. Even though it had coiled around his entire body, more than half of its body was still coiled on his bed. In the darkness, it looked like a heavy, inky black mass.
How had such a large snake entered the campus without being discovered?
It should have been spotted by passersby and reported to the school when it was slithering.
Not wanting to die in the mouth of a snake at the best age of his life, Qi Zian, with a desire to live, looked at the snake’s head. He didn’t know how, but he suddenly had a moment of clarity. He tried his best to make a weak sound and swore to the snake: “Lord Snake, Grandmaster Snake, you are Bai Fuxue’s guardian spirit, aren’t you? It must be you. I promise, I will give up my foolish obsession with Bai Fuxue. Please, let me go this time. I will let you supervise me from now on. I beg of you, Grandmaster Snake.”
Qi Zian was incredibly sincere. He deeply understood his own weakness. Life and death were in the snake’s hands.
He shivered as he waited for a while. The sharp fangs on his neck moved away. The snake’s eyes gazed deeply at him for a moment, as if confirming the truthfulness of his words.
Qi Zian continued to swear.
The giant python coiling around him finally moved away slowly, climbing off his bed and onto the balcony. It then climbed out of the window and disappeared from sight.
Qi Zian finally collapsed, his legs weak and filled with lingering fear. He sobbed uncontrollably.
His wailing woke up all of his roommates, who came over to ask what was wrong.
He sincerely told them there was a snake in the dorm that had almost bitten him to death, but no one believed him. They all said that he was half-asleep and having a hallucination.
No matter what he said, no one would believe him.
He wanted to show his roommates the evidence of being bitten by a snake, but his neck was as smooth as before, without a single scratch.
Qi Zian was even more certain that Bai Fuxue’s guardian spirit had come for him to give him a physical warning.
He had escaped this time, but he probably wouldn’t be so lucky next time.
He never wanted to experience the horror of having his life controlled by a giant python again. He very seriously and solemnly told his roommates that he had decided to give up on liking Bai Fuxue. From now on, they should not make any teasing gestures when they saw Bai Fuxue, and they should never associate him with her again.
“That girl is too strange. It’s better not to get close to her.”
His roommates: “…”
They didn’t understand, but they would do as he said.
After the little rabbit’s guardian spirit taught the bad boy a lesson, Lu Qimin successfully withdrew and took another shower in the dead of night.
Bai Fuxue heard her movements on the bed across from her. Amidst the sound of the water, she groggily asked her in a soft voice that came through the bed curtain: “Lulu, why are you showering again?”
“I touched something dirty,” Lu Qimin said concisely.
“Oh. Then get some rest soon after you’re done~”
After the girl said this in a dazed state, she went back to sleep, ignoring all external sounds.
Lu Qimin waited quietly for a while, and after confirming that the little rabbit wouldn’t speak again, she let out a laugh.
She couldn’t resist walking to Bai Fuxue’s bed and gently flicking her with her index finger through the bed curtain.
The girl was sleeping soundly, so she had no reaction.
Only Lu Qimin was whispering softly, “You have no conscience. You don’t even know who I’m doing all this for.”
The only people who could hear her were herself and the passing evening breeze.
The little rabbit just needed to be protected.
After Lu Qimin finished washing up, she rested her head in the direction that was connected to Bai Fuxue’s bed. Through the bed curtain, she could hear the little rabbit’s steady breaths and the faint, sweet scent coming from her body. She fell into a deep sleep, feeling completely satisfied.
The next morning, Bai Fuxue took the opportunity to tell everyone that her friend was coming next weekend and asked if she could squeeze into the dorm with her for two days, making sure not to disturb everyone’s lives.
An Xin teased her: “Is this friend of yours as cute as you are? The fifth empty spot in Room 608 is only for sweet girls.”
Bai Fuxue’s face instantly flushed red. She seriously gestured and explained, “She’s very pretty, and her personality is very cute.”
“But she’s a little tall, so she might not fit the conventional definition of a ‘sweet girl’.”
That’s right. Although Yang Xinyi was timid and cowardly, she was almost 1.8 meters tall, making her a very noticeable presence in a crowd.
