My Female Python Roommate Always Wants To Eat Me. - Chapter 22
Chapter 22
The camp’s closing ceremony concluded successfully. After bidding farewell to the instructors, everyone welcomed the first real weekend since the start of the new semester.
Yang Xinyi bought the earliest train ticket to Shanhai. Upon seeing the train information, Bai Fuxue woke up early and headed to the station.
Unexpectedly, at the same time she got up, Lu Qimin, who was a frequent late sleeper, also miraculously rose early. Rubbing her disheveled hair, she brushed her teeth next to Bai Fuxue, saying she wanted to accompany her to the station to pick up her friend.
The reason she gave was quite convincing. As a roommate, it was only proper to represent the group and welcome her friend who had traveled a long way.
Bai Fuxue politely declined a few times, but Lu Qimin was insistent. With no other option, she acquiesced and let her come along. She couldn’t help but quietly marvel at how enthusiastic Lu Qimin was.
She messaged Yang Xinyi in advance, telling her that a roommate would be joining her. As expected, the message immediately sent Yang Xinyi into a tizzy, and she replied with a flurry of anxious messages. The constant notification sounds from the earpiece caught Lu Qimin’s attention, and she frequently cast glances at Bai Fuxue.
Bai Fuxue didn’t notice. Once they were on the subway, she lowered her head and focused on replying to Yang Xinyi’s messages.
Your roommate is coming too? Will that be too much? I’m not ready to meet them yet.
Xuexue, quick, tell me about your roommate’s personality. I need to know. Ahhh, I’m so nervous I feel like I’m gonna throw up! (â•¥_â•¥)
I brought some Chongqing hot pot base made by a local. I wonder if your roommate will like it…
Having anticipated her friend’s reaction, Bai Fuxue couldn’t help but smile, a smile of foreseen success, as she typed her reply:
Don’t worry, my roommates are all very warm and easy to get along with. The one you’ll meet in a bit can look a little cold sometimes, but don’t be scared! She’s a really good person and has taken great care of me since we started school. When she heard I was going to the station to pick you up, she even woke up early and offered to come along.
Hot pot base made by a Chongqing local!! Who wouldn’t like that? I guarantee even people who can’t handle spicy food will instantly fall in love with it!
Bai Fuxue was earnestly reassuring her friend on the other side of the city. Unconsciously, her back leaned against the railing, and she stood steady in the swaying, crowded train car. She didn’t pay any attention to her surroundings.
Unexpectedly, a cool hand took her forearm, pulling her to a different spot. She instinctively followed the pull and was guided to a spacious seat. Her tense body immediately relaxed.
“There’s a seat. A-Xue, sit.”
As she sat down, her view of Lu Qimin shifted, forcing her to look up. Lu Qimin stood in front of her, a mere arm’s length away, shielding her from the surrounding crowd and creating a small, cozy space for her.
The subway’s broadcast announced the station information, its high volume filling the entire car. Yet, Bai Fuxue still managed to catch Lu Qimin’s voice amidst the widespread announcement.
She looked up and saw Lu Qimin’s deep-set eyes, beautiful facial contours, and the blue veins on her arm, which bulged from tightly gripping the top handrail. The faint pulse of her heartbeat was visible within the rising veins, a captivating sight.
Her slender fingers, with their distinct joints, took on a hazy, jade-like quality under the ceiling lights against her already fair skin. The way she was gripping the rail looked incredibly appealing… It was as if this hand shouldn’t just be holding an ordinary handrail, but should instead be covered in water—be it rain or red wine—or a colorful, fizzy carbonated drink fresh from the fridge, with watermarks streaming down her fingers. It should be holding a shirt collar, a tie, a pool cue, or another person’s fingers… gripping them… and rubbing them.
With a dignified and elegant demeanor, her temperament should have been aloof and cold. Yet, the moment she looked over, a warm smile curved at her lips, instantly dissolving all traces of coldness.
It was exceptionally gentle, and she called Bai Fuxue’s name with great affection. She secured a single empty seat for her in the dense crowd and offered it to her. Seeing her sit down, she seemed genuinely happy.
Bai Fuxue’s heart was touched in that instant. The scene before her became a still frame in her mind. She desperately wanted to preserve this feeling and paint this moment.
Her phone screen was still on the chat with Yang Xinyi. The light slowly dimmed until the screen went black. Bai Fuxue had completely forgotten about her conversation with her friend.
As an art student, she was naturally drawn to beautiful and lovely things, always wanting to remember the beautiful scenes she saw and revisit them later. Lu Qimin was now a beautiful scene in Bai Fuxue’s eyes.
Bai Fuxue couldn’t tear her gaze away. She managed to suppress the fluttering in her heart, glanced at Lu Qimin’s fingers, then away, then back at Lu Qimin’s dazzling blonde hair. She looked away again, her eyes finally settling on Lu Qimin’s black, silk-like trousers.
They were very close. Lu Qimin was intentionally or unintentionally pushed closer to Bai Fuxue by the crowd, their distance shrinking. Finally, her straight leg pressed against Bai Fuxue’s, separated by only a single layer of suit fabric.
Bai Fuxue was wearing a beige A-line skirt today, the hem of which was above her knees. Because she was sitting, the skirt rode up, revealing half of her thighs. Her knees had been tinged pink by the cold air, blending with the other white parts of her skin, as if they had been blushed or pressed and bullied. Her smooth skin now directly touched Lu Qimin’s trouser leg.
The comfortable, draped fabric wrapped around Lu Qimin’s body temperature, clearly transmitting it to Bai Fuxue’s leg. With the jostling of the crowd and the rocking of the train, the repeated contact sparked a series of uncontrollable tremors.
Bai Fuxue couldn’t help but shrink back slightly, her mind completely captivated. She squeezed her legs together, enduring it for a while. Her eyes turned red with the effort, filled with a dewy sheen that conveyed a sense of weakness.
She carefully reached out and tugged on Lu Qimin’s pants, pinching a small piece of fabric. She mumbled something indistinct, and with extreme shyness, she offered, “Lu Qimin, do you want to sit on my lap?”
“The station is still so far away. It must be tiring to stand.”
Staring at the girl’s moist, round eyes, Lu Qimin’s throat tightened, and she unconsciously swallowed. After a moment of silence, she managed to suppress her extremely hoarse voice.
Behind her glasses, her dark green eyes flashed with a surge of desire, her gaze sharp and fierce. It was the look of a predator locking onto its prey. She truly wished she could devour her whole… Starting with her eyes, then her mouth, her neck…
From her elevated perspective, she saw the little rabbit sitting obediently with her legs together, like a rabbit doll displayed in a store window, tied with a velvet ribbon. She was adorable.
After clearing her throat a few times to get rid of the rough sound, Lu Qimin gracefully encircled Bai Fuxue’s waist and sat down. “Yes, I’ll sit.”
