My Female Python Roommate Always Wants To Eat Me. - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
“You’re back? Perfect, let’s head to the class meeting together.” An Xin had just changed her clothes and was about to head out.
Bai Fuxue walked past her with a mournful expression, saying, “Okay.”
She opened her closet, took out the hat from the bag, folded it neatly, and placed it deep inside.
She secretly vowed that she would never, ever wear this hat.
Its only fate was to collect dust in the closet!
Lu Qimin, on the other hand, was visibly in a good mood and followed closely behind Bai Fuxue.
Seeing her actions, Lu Qimin’s brows relaxed even more.
An unusual atmosphere flowed between the two of them.
An Xin looked at Lu Qimin, then at Bai Fuxue, guessing that something must have happened.
But with the class meeting about to start, she didn’t want to ask too many questions.
She decided to hold back her curiosity for now and went out with Bai Fuxue.
In dorm room 608, Bai Fuxue, An Xin, and Song Jiajia were all freshmen in the 2019 Fine Arts Department, Painting Class 1. Only Lu Qimin was from the Botany Department.
So naturally, they left her behind, splitting into two groups to attend their respective class meetings.
On the first day of school, the class teacher didn’t have much to say.
He just briefly organized a self-introduction session to let the students get to know each other.
He announced that from tomorrow, a fifteen-day military training would begin.
Bai Fuxue, who was the top student in her major at Shanhai University, was appointed the temporary class monitor. Another male student, Qi Zian, was appointed the temporary vice class monitor, and they would be jointly responsible for various matters during military training.
Bai Fuxue’s first task was to organize everyone to fill out a size chart, go to the activity room to get the training uniforms, and distribute them to her classmates.
She naturally couldn’t carry so many sets of camouflage uniforms by herself. Fortunately, several enthusiastic students volunteered to help her, and soon, the camouflage uniforms were distributed to everyone.
Each person received two sets, which was enough for them to change.
After the class teacher, Huang Anrou, finished giving instructions, she dismissed the class meeting.
On the way back, Bai Fuxue naturally walked with her roommates. As they walked out of the academic building, Qi Zian caught up from behind and called out to her, “Bai Fuxue, let’s add each other on QQ. We’ll be working together for a while.”
The handsome-faced boy showed a bright smile, and his eyes twinkled with sincerity. His words weren’t awkward at all, and he asked for her contact information very naturally.
Bai Fuxue had a good impression of Qi Zian and was happy to add him as a QQ friend.
Qi Zian’s profile picture was a smiling Samoyed.
At this moment, his smile was identical to the little dog in his profile picture. He waved at her, skipping backward, and his voice carried far: “See you tomorrow.”
The corners of Bai Fuxue’s lips curved slightly into a polite smile as a response.
An Xin and Song Jiajia, who had watched the whole thing, couldn’t help but crowd around Bai Fuxue and whisper, “Our Teacher Huang sure knows how to pick people. She appointed the two most attractive people in our class as class monitor and vice class monitor. Maybe her side job is being a matchmaker?”
“Xiao Bai, Qi Zian definitely has a thing for you.”
“Being so proactive is a big red flag.”
Bai Fuxue was a little dizzy from her roommates’ constant chatter. She picked out the main point and seriously refuted them, trying to dispel her roommates’ suspicions about Qi Zian’s hidden motives.
“You guys are really overthinking it. He just added me to make it easier for us to work together.”
“How can someone like someone the first time they meet?” When she said the word “like,” Bai Fuxue shyly swallowed the stress on the syllable, her voice soft. The moment she touched on the adult world, she quickly retreated to her safe zone.
She didn’t want to think about love and relationships for now.
“No, we’re not overthinking it. The two of us were standing right there. Why didn’t Qi Zian want to add us as friends? As the vice class monitor, it’s very necessary to have the contact information of all your classmates.”
“Besides, it’s normal to have a good impression after meeting someone once. Hormones are produced without any rules. My first love and I fell in love at first sight. It’s a shame we didn’t get into the same university, or I would be showing off our love all the time.” Song Jiajia, as a veteran, shared her experience with Bai Fuxue, who was a love novice.
An Xin, who was also single but had read many romance novels and acted as a “love strategist” for her friends, chimed in.
Bai Fuxue absorbed all the knowledge along the way, feeling as if she had opened a door to a new world.
There were so many tricks people had when they were in a relationship!
The unfamiliar knowledge flooded her brain, and Bai Fuxue felt like she couldn’t think normally anymore.
She shook her head slightly, trying to clear her mind with the cool breeze of the summer evening.
The three of them chatted and laughed all the way back to the dorm.
This was primarily An Xin and Song Jiajia teasing and poking fun at Bai Fuxue, who had been a well-behaved, obedient child for eighteen years. They said many things that made her blush.
Bai Fuxue’s cheeks couldn’t help but turn a peachy pink, stimulated by the explicit words.
She didn’t have any special feelings for Qi Zian and still saw him as a normal classmate.
Lu Qimin had returned to the dorm before them. She had already showered and changed into her pajamas, a vintage-patterned cyan nightgown.
Hearing the noise, she looked around for Bai Fuxue’s figure. When she found her, her gaze settled on Bai Fuxue’s pink cheeks.
She seemed to be asking everyone a question.
Only she knew that she was only asking Bai Fuxue.
“Did something interesting happen? You all seemed to be having such a good time.”
Her tone contained a gentle smile, and she had deliberately reined in the cold aura that came from her bloodline, making her seem like a kind and gentle girl-next-door.
She was curious about Bai Fuxue’s experiences in the time she wasn’t with them.
Before Bai Fuxue could speak, Song Jiajia quickly and excitedly recounted the events.
The moment she mentioned Qi Zian, Lu Qimin’s expression turned a little ugly, and the gentleness in her eyes instantly vanished.
The gaze she cast on Bai Fuxue’s face instantly became sharp.
It was the look of dissatisfaction at someone coveting a person she had her eyes on.
Her little rabbit only needed her to see her…
Bai Fuxue felt her heart skip a beat under Lu Qimin’s cold gaze. She suddenly felt flustered, and the heat on her face from being teased had long since faded.
She inexplicably felt that Lu Qimin was very difficult to get along with right now. She was unhappy.
But she couldn’t understand why Lu Qimin was unhappy.
Lu Qimin was even kindly and calmly reminding An Xin and Song Jiajia about the dorm’s lights-out time, urging them to wash up early and not stay up too late.
After she said that, the two of them didn’t care about anything else and hurried off to wash up.
The space for conversation was now only left to her and Lu Qimin.
After sending the others away, Lu Qimin’s tone became cold when facing her.
She lowered her eyes and approached Bai Fuxue. Her voice was hoarse, “So, you added him as a friend?”
“And… he’s very handsome?”
The simple words were filled with displeasure and sharpness.
Bai Fuxue’s nerves tensed up subconsciously. Without any embellishment, she stated in the most ordinary way: “We’re going to be working together during military training, so we added each other. I didn’t pay attention to what he looks like.”
She carefully considered her words and added, “How about you take a look at him tomorrow when you pass by our class’s formation to see if he’s handsome?”
Hearing that Bai Fuxue really didn’t have any feelings for Qi Zian, Lu Qimin’s mood improved, and her tone returned to its gentle state.
But she was still wary of Qi Zian.
Her mind was turning, and she thought Bai Fuxue’s suggestion was excellent.
She happily agreed: “Then I’ll go check him out tomorrow.”
Bai Fuxue’s mouth dropped open in shock: “?!”
“Are you really going to?”
“Mhm.”
Lu Qimin reached out and ruffled the girl’s soft hair, and then tossed her a brand-new bottle of sunscreen, completely unbothered by the little episode that had just occurred.
“I accidentally bought an extra bottle. Remember to use it during military training tomorrow.”
“Thank you.”
Bai Fuxue held the sunscreen in her arms, overwhelmed by the gesture.
Her hair was a mess, but Lu Qimin’s unhappiness was gone. She considered her hair’s sacrifice a job well done.
