- My Fiancé Fell in Love with My Older Sister. After Locking Myself in My Room for Five Days, 500 Years Had Passed.
- Chapter 4 - Magnolia Blossoms Dance
On a certain spring day, magnolia blossoms fluttered in the air.
That day, my sister’s condition was more stable than usual.
So, Father said:
“It’s about time Agnes greets His Highness, the Crown Prince.”
I nodded in agreement with Father’s words.
My sister was frail.
Because of that, she had never debuted in high society.
Naturally, she had never met Felix.
However, one day, she would become Felix’s sister-in-law.
As a member of the Frenzel Ducal family, it would not be proper for her to never greet him.
Even though she was weak, her illness wasn’t contagious. Father and Mother had always believed that at some point, she should meet him.
Besides, my sister herself seemed interested in Felix, my fiancé.
Since she couldn’t leave her room, she always listened to my stories with great interest and enjoyment.
The things that happened that day, my thoughts about them.
The conversations I had. The weather. My plans.
My sister always enjoyed my aimless chatter.
One day, after hearing about Felix, she murmured:
“I’d like to meet His Highness…”
Her voice was small, fragile, as if it would dissolve into nothing.
When I blinked in surprise, my sister softly smiled.
Her silky white hair swayed.
She was white from head to toe.
And every time she spoke, a hint of red appeared.
“He is your fiancé, right? I must greet him.”
And so, arrangements were made for Felix and my sister to meet.
Even so, my sister still couldn’t get out of bed.
Naturally, Felix had to visit her room.
I accompanied him as we entered her chamber.
I knocked on the door and called out:
“Sister, Felix has arrived.”
A response came immediately.
I led Felix into the room.
At that moment, a particularly strong gust of wind blew.
A warm spring breeze swept through.
My sister sat on her bed by the window—watching us.
In that instant, I saw it.
Felix looked at my sister—and gasped.
His eyes widened as he stared at her.
His cheeks flushed red.
A man who was always cold as ice.
Looking at my sister, his eyes shimmered as if he had found hope.
He was captivated.
In that one moment, I knew—
He had fallen in love.
My fiancé had fallen for my sister.
My sister coughed softly, looking at us.
Then, she smiled.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. I apologize for my appearance… I am Agnes Frenzel, Felicia’s elder sister.”
Her gentle voice blended into the air.
Felix, startled, quickly composed himself and returned the greeting.
“Ah, yes. I am Felix Zauberer. …So you are Felicia’s sister. As the rumors say… you are beautiful.”
His words were the usual pleasantries. A standard greeting.
And yet, I felt they came from his heart.
My sister blinked, slightly surprised.
Then, she lowered her gaze, embarrassed.
Her long silver lashes fanned over her pale blue eyes.
Her cheeks were tinged pink, and her emerald-green eyes shimmered.
At that moment, they had surely fallen in love.
For the first time, I witnessed the exact moment people fall for each other.
My sister, in the innocence of her first love.
Felix, in the certainty of love at first sight.
They exchanged only a few words.
But to them, that brief encounter was precious.
I understood that perfectly.
In that moment, I became the intruder.
I had become the obstacle standing between two people who longed for each other.
“……Sigh.”
Remembering that day, I let out another sigh.
(The human heart cannot be bound.)
That’s why I couldn’t blame Felix for falling for my sister.
Nor could I blame my sister.
Until now, she had only ever interacted with members of the Frenzel Ducal family.
For her, meeting someone from outside—Felix—must have been a shock. Something fresh.
Felix was known as the Radiant Crown Prince.
His sharp blue eyes and silver hair, as keen as a blade.
He seemed cold at first glance, but his large eyes gave him an unexpected charm.
His bangs, falling over his eyes, only enhanced his appeal.
In short, Felix was a beautiful young man, both cold and charming.
Despite his looks, his voice was deep—another part of his allure.
And my relationship with him—
(A perfectly arranged marriage…!)
We had no special feelings for each other.
As mere betrothed, we met only as required by custom.
(…I realized it.)
Now, we were nothing but a cold, lifeless pair of fiancés.
But once, believe it or not, I admired Felix.
(…Though that phase ended rather quickly!)
Love… teaches you things.
That the other person doesn’t feel the same.
That they aren’t looking at you.
No matter how close I got, an invisible wall stood between us.
(…No.)
I shook my head internally.
I simply lacked the courage.
The courage to break that wall.
In the end, I gave up trying.
Thus, we became masked fiancés, a pair as cold as dry ice.
But the moment Felix saw my sister, that wall disappeared.
The barrier that never faded for me—
Vanished in an instant.
That was the answer.
A sharp pain pricked my heart.
Not sadness or heartbreak.
But the realization that in three years of engagement, my sister had effortlessly gained what I had long sought.
And I wondered—
What had all my efforts been for?
Then—
As I was lost in thought, I collided with someone.
Thud!
“Ouch…!”
Pain shot through my nose, and stars danced before my eyes.
