- My Fiancé Was Taken By My Younger Sister, But I Plan To Get My Revenge Through My Performance at The Social Party
- Episode 11 - The Crumbling Mask
The party that Isabella was overseeing the preparations for was initially going smoothly. The elegant decorations, refined cuisine, and well-chosen entertainment were the results of Victoria’s notes and the hard work of the staff she had trained.
Among the participants, there were those who praised the success of the party and others who stepped forward to offer their support to Isabella. Feeling that her skills were being recognized, Isabella was basking in a sense of superiority. Confident that she could surpass her sister Victoria, this feeling grew stronger with each passing day.
However, as the parties continued, the number of participants began to decrease. With the same kinds of food, similar decorations, and unchanged entertainment, the participants started to feel unsatisfied.
Isabella felt anxious and tried various strategies to increase the number of participants. She adorned the venue with more extravagant decorations, offered dishes made with expensive ingredients, and prepared flashy entertainment. However, these efforts did not have the desired effect. On the contrary, the excessive theatrics undermined the event’s elegance, leading to rumors about the decline in the quality of the party, and Isabella’s reputation rapidly deteriorated.
Isabella, while unwilling to admit her lack of ability, couldn’t find a way to break through the current situation. Relying entirely on Victoria’s notes, she lacked the power to come up with her own ideas. Not wanting to acknowledge this about herself, she began to blame others and the environment for her failures.
It’s all because the staff aren’t following the instructions! It’s not my fault! They should be more proactive!
Isabella, in a fit of anger, blamed the staff. She held the decorators responsible for the venue’s decorations not meeting expectations, attributed the decline in the food’s reputation to the chef’s declining skills, and concluded that the poor reception of the entertainment was due to the performers’ lack of ability. However, her high-handed attitude only incited resentment among the staff. Secretly, whispers began to circulate, saying, “She’s nothing like Lady Victoria.”
Cornered, Isabella tried to shift the blame onto her fiancé, Damian. Her frustration over the person who was supposed to support her not taking action was growing within her.
“Damian, it’s failing because you’re not cooperating either! Can’t you think about me a bit more?”
Damian decided to ignore her with a cold expression. His disappointment in Isabella was growing day by day.
“I left the party planning to you, so you handle it. It’s not my problem.”
Isabella was furious at Damian’s irresponsible remark. There was not a trace of her previous composure or elegance in her expression.
“That’s not fair! I’m the only one struggling, and you’re not doing anything! We’re engaged to be married, you know! Why do I have to be the only one working hard?”
Thus, the relationship between the two of them gradually became more and more strained. The sweet atmosphere they once had disappeared, replaced by a cold air that now lingered.
Isabella exaggerated her struggles to seek sympathy.
“I’m working so hard, but no one understands me! I’m struggling so much, but no one is helping me!”
However, the people around her were astonished by Isabella’s victim mentality and began to distance themselves from her. They found no sympathy for her attitude of refusing to acknowledge her own faults and blaming everything on others.
The main cause of the failure was stagnation. Simply repeating the same pattern without generating new ideas could not capture the participants’ interest. Isabella, relying entirely on Victoria’s notes, was unable to come up with effective ideas. At that moment, Victoria’s face floated into Isabella’s mind.
“That’s right, if I ask my sister for help…! If it’s my sister, she will definitely help me!”
Isabella, forgetting that she had stolen her fiancé and spied on information, began to blame Victoria for her dishonesty.
Her reliance on her sister and her dependence as a younger sister were distorting her judgment.
“This all happened because you didn’t give me complete information. If you had told me the truth, none of this would have happened!”
Isabella’s heart was filled with jealousy and resentment. The mix of rebellion and jealousy towards her sister became a complex emotion that tormented her. She was trying to justify herself by blaming Victoria for her own failures.
She truly believed that it was her sister’s responsibility to help her. After all, they were sisters, so it was only natural for her to help. Thus, she decided to rely on her sister.
