- My Fiancé Was Taken By My Younger Sister, But I Plan To Get My Revenge Through My Performance at The Social Party
- Episode 14 - A Letter from My Former Fiancé
Victoria was in her room, going through the letters that had been sent to her by various people. There were notes of thanks for the invitation and comments from those who had attended the party hosted by the Hardwood family.
This time, we received an invitation asking us to attend a party they are hosting, and they also sought our advice on the party arrangements.
Since coming to the Hardwood household, I have become close with the other ladies of the house, and they have been telling me about their recent happenings and sharing little grievances that can’t be spoken of in public.
I also received information about recent trends, inquiries about the next party, and invitations to tea parties from the noble lady I have also become close with.
Victoria carefully reads each of those letters and writes a reply to each one. Since the relationship-building is going smoothly, she receives many letters from people. It takes a lot of effort, but she cannot cut corners here. It is an essential task in building important connections.
“Hmm?”
In the meantime, I found a letter from the Blackthorn family in an ornate envelope. I doubted my eyes for a moment at the name Damian in the sender’s section. I had a strong desire not to open it, but ignoring it could cause trouble.
Victoria let out a deep sigh as she carefully opened the seal.
Perhaps, she speculated, it was because he had previously refused a request for help from Isabella that Damian had come to ask for her cooperation instead. He was a man who had never been involved in the preparations or arrangements for the party, but maybe for the first time, he was willing to cooperate because Isabella had asked him.
However, Victoria’s prediction was way off.
“Wow…”
As she continued reading the letter, Victoria’s expression grew darker. She made faces that conveyed annoyance and trouble, and even looked utterly bewildered. In any case, the contents of the letter were terrible.
To summarize the content of the letter, it was a request for reconciliation from Damian.
Damian claimed that he had been deceived by Isabella and wrote that the fault lies with her. He stated that he does not want to marry her because she is out of control and expressed a desire to return to their previous relationship. He also mentioned the benefits of returning to the position of Duchess and wrote that he wanted to meet and talk once.
“That’s unbelievable.”
As Victoria continued reading, her head began to ache, and she thought she never wanted to go back to the way things were. She felt that the happy days she was experiencing now, with her encounters with Edward, the challenges of new things, and the joy of personal growth, were worth so much more. There was no value in abandoning the present to return to the past.
After finishing the letter filled with selfish excuses and one-sided justifications, Victoria decided to consult Edward.
“What should we do about this?”
“I see, that’s troublesome.”
Edward, who was consulted, also looked it over and had a similar expression to Victoria.
Edward advised to keep the letter and remain silent without reacting. Victoria shared the same opinion as him, believing that they should ignore it, so they decided to do just that.
If the ducal family uses their power to take action, Edward promised that the Hardwood family would handle it. Victoria felt reassured by his words.
After that, Victoria received the same letter from Damian multiple times, but she ignored them all. She intended to maintain this attitude until he gave up.
Her heart will never return to Damian. Until I understand that fact, I decided to continue refusing all responses.
