- My Fiancé Was Taken By My Younger Sister, But I Plan To Get My Revenge Through My Performance at The Social Party
- Episode 2 - The Whereabouts of the Truth
Damian claimed that Victoria had stolen from his sister Isabella the numerous ideas that garnered attention at the socialite party, as well as the credit for their preparation and execution.
A socialite party is a gathering where people from noble and upper-class families come together to socialize. We have planned and utilized various ideas to make the party enjoyable for the participants. The participants’ feedback has been quite positive.
Of course, the actual planning and arrangements were made by Victoria, and the idea was conceived by her; there is no fact that it was stolen from her sister.
But Damian believes. The parties have been successful so far because of Isabella’s ideas. Victoria had hidden that fact. She made it all seem like her own achievement.
“You claimed that the innovative idea that Isabella had been managing and nurturing was your own. Using your sister’s ideas without permission to gain praise—what a terrible person you are.”
“Therefore, that is――”
“I had already proposed the idea to Lord Damian before you did! You took my idea and presented it first! Now it looks like I stole the idea from you…”
Interrupting Victoria, Isabella asserts.
Which of the innovative ideas her sister had been nurturing was she referring to? Victoria didn’t know.
Inviting musicians, dancers, and poets to add color to the party? Collaborating with top chefs to create an original menu? Sourcing local specialties and rare ingredients to offer a luxurious meal? Using decorations and lighting that match the theme to create a splendid atmosphere?
It was all an idea that Victoria had painstakingly come up with. She had planned, prepared, and executed each one. To be accused of stealing it is simply unacceptable.
Victoria recalled something upon hearing her sister’s claim that she had suggested it before her. Could Isabella have secretly looked at the idea notebook, party plans, and invoices that Victoria had been writing to organize her thoughts?
No way, I can’t believe they went that far. I should have hidden the plans even at home, anticipating that they might be snooping. But the one who snooped through someone else’s documents is definitely in the wrong. That’s an obvious fact.
Isabella confidently accuses, “You stole my idea.” Her attitude completely captivates Damian’s heart. They even seem to be somewhat intoxicated by the act of blaming Victoria together. As Victoria witnesses such a despicable scene, her heart grows cold.
“What you did is an unforgivable act! Stealing my sister’s achievements and recognition is the lowest!”
“……Lord Damian, please take a moment to calm down and consider my actions and Isabella’s actions.”
“Disgraceful! I thought you were excellent until now, but you were deceiving me all along!”
It was useless to try explaining. Damian, with his face flushed red with anger, refused to listen. Victoria completely realized that persuading him was impossible now.
No matter what I say, it’s useless. They won’t listen.
“Finally, the truth has come to light. Watching my sister, who only mimicked me, was quite amusing!”
Isabella let out a loud laugh, reveling in her superiority. To Victoria, who knew the truth, that scene seemed ridiculous. The sight of her sister loudly proclaiming lies was ugly, but perhaps it was foolish of her to be so easily deceived.
I should have been more cautious—yes, I quietly reflect.
And then, Victoria makes the final confirmation.
“The annulment of our engagement hasn’t been officially announced yet, has it?”
“Ah, not yet. But soon, all the nobles across the country will know.”
“If that happens, I will not be returning to being Lord Damian’s fiancĂ©e. Is that acceptable?”
In response to Victoria’s question, Damian answered with evident disgust.
“Hmph! Desperate, aren’t you, Victoria? You seem to dislike the fact that you’re being stripped of your position as duchess despite being incompetent. Now that the truth is out, you seem worried that no one will want to marry you!”
That’s not it. I was trying to give you one last piece of advice. Damian won’t listen at all. If he’s going to say that, then there’s no point in saying anything more. I thought at least I could reduce the confusion after we part, but even that seems to be unnecessary meddling.
If that’s the case, then it’s fine. Victoria has finally given up on the two of them completely.
“I see, understood. Lord Damian, I pray that you and Isabella will be happy together.”
My sister stole my fiancĂ©. But strangely, my heart was calm. He was the kind of man who would forget all my contributions and believe my sister’s lies over my words. After being treated so poorly, I had no choice but to give up. In fact, I even thought it was convenient that he was the one who called off the engagement.
Right now, I was just curious about what my sister, who has neither knowledge nor experience, would do when she was put in charge of preparing the party. How would the outcome of lying and deceiving Damian turn out?
She lied and deceived Damian. Victoria imagines what the outcome will be. It will probably fail.
Just claiming that someone stole your idea won’t lead to a successful social party. Something will inevitably go wrong—so keep your distance to avoid getting involved.
She stood up and left the room alone. Victoria pushed the image of the two, solidified by lies and arrogance, out of her mind. There was no need to get involved anymore.
