- Chapter 28 - The Missing Little Dragon
Long Xiao was stunned as he watched his phone shatter into pieces.
His mouth gaped open, his large golden beast eyes trembling in shock.
In an instant, the massive Silver Dragon transformed back into a tall, handsome man.
Long Xiao, shirtless, reached out to touch the pile of dust, but before his hand could make contact, a sudden gust of wind swept through.
Helplessly, Long Xiao watched as the fragments of his phone were carried away by the wind.
Long XiaoÂ
The wind scattered it all—not just his phone, but his heart as well.
The Alpha stood there, watching the swirling dust, silent for a moment.
Finally, Long Xiao chuckled in exasperation. He closed his eyes briefly, then ran a hand through his soaking wet hair, pushing the strands back from his forehead.
Splash! Water droplets scattered as Long Xiao grabbed a towel from the poolside and wrapped it around his waist. He padded back into the house, leaving a trail of wet footprints.
The instant his phone shattered, Long Xiao’s first thought had been, I’m screwed.
This was highly unusual.
With his immense wealth and privileged upbringing, what in his life could ever make him feel truly screwed?
Yet now, the mere destruction of his phone sent a jolt of panic through him.
Ha! I’m screwed. I can’t reply to my wife’s messages promptly.
Knowing Si An’s temperament, even a two-minute delay would be silently noted.
He might even deduct points…
Thinking this, Long Xiao tightened his lips and unconsciously quickened his pace.
He kept little cash at home, but he had bank cards. Since the System’s shop didn’t sell phones, he’d have to drive to the nearest phone store to buy a new one.
His SIM card had also shattered, and he’d need to get a replacement. He wasn’t even sure if that was possible.
Based on his limited experience with urban life, he’d never heard of such a thing.
As he pondered this, Long Xiao turned and entered the bathroom. After a quick shower, he dressed and headed out.
Headache.
All he’d wanted was a relaxing bath after ages, and now this had happened.

And so, one by one, the residents of Dragon Island began mobilizing their connections to search for their newly fledged young dragons.
There was no other choice. As the Long Clan’s only heir and the sole hope of this generation, Long Xiao was treated with the utmost care, as if he were the apple of their eye. The elders of Dragon Island had grown accustomed to this level of concern.
For the past fifty years, Long Xiao had been the only dragon born on the island.
They still remembered when he was born, how everyone had gathered to marvel at his two pairs of wings, showering him with affection.
Meanwhile, Long Xiao remained completely unaware that he had become the subject of a Missing Dragon notice. He silently missed his convenient and reliable Special Assistant Chen.
On the first day his phone was broken, Special Assistant Chen thought of him.
Achoo!
Special Assistant Chen shuddered violently, raising a hand to rub his nose in confusion as he glanced around.
Wait, who’s badmouthing me?
Why do I feel a chill down my back?
Just as Special Assistant Chen was muttering to himself in bewilderment, his phone suddenly lit up with a notification.
Ding-dong.
His expression sharpened, and he immediately grabbed his phone, hoping it was a message from President Long.
As a highly paid and competent special assistant, Chen prided himself on being constantly prepared.
Unfortunately, the message wasn’t from Long Xiao.
But just as Chen was about to breathe a sigh of relief, he found himself holding his breath again.
It wasn’t from President Long, but from President Si.
President Si—the man President Long had his heart set on.
Special Assistant ChenÂ
Upon closer inspection, the message’s contents were even more alarming
Si An Special Assistant Chen, where’s your boss?
Instantly, Chen’s hand trembled, nearly dropping his phone.
He blinked rapidly, his mind racing. Could this be the legendary check-up call?
But why was it coming to him?
Where was President Long? How was he supposed to know? Had President Long vanished?!
At Si An’s Home
The Omega sat curled up against the headboard, the bedroom curtains already drawn open.
After Long Xiao left, without the Alpha’s soothing pheromones to help him, Si An had struggled to fall asleep.
Even when he finally drifted off, he only managed two or three hours of restless sleep before waking up.
Checking his phone, he found no messages from Long Xiao.
Si An raised an eyebrow and sent a message
Si An .
But even after he’d showered, dressed, and eaten breakfast, there was still no reply.
Si An’s brow furrowed, his face darkening with displeasure. Veins pulsed visibly on his forehead, betraying his growing irritation.
The Omega’s usually aloof expression deepened, making him appear even more imposing, his mood clearly sour.
At first, he was simply angry and annoyed. But as he thought it over, he couldn’t fathom any reason why the Alpha would ignore him.
Unable to wait any longer, worry now overriding his anger, Si An impulsively reached for his phone and contacted Long Xiao’s special assistant.
Si An still remembered Long Xiao’s special assistant, a highly capable individual.
When Long Xiao first presented the contract with its astronomical profit margins, Special Assistant Chen had looked like he wanted to die more than anyone else.
This meant the man truly had his heart and the company intertwined. So, when Si An couldn’t reach Long Xiao, he immediately contacted Special Assistant Chen.
Unfortunately, Special Assistant Chen was also unable to reach Long Xiao at that moment.
The Omega’s plan had failed.
Special Assistant Chen President Si, I’m very sorry, but I haven’t been able to reach President Long either.
Reading the reply, Si An’s breath hitched, his fingers gripping the phone so tightly they turned white.
That idiot… could something have really happened to him?
He’d only been pursuing Long Xiao for a few days, and already something had gone wrong.
Why is he so unlucky? Why am I so unlucky?
