My Omega is a Top Heavenly Master - Chapter 1
Summer is inherently sweltering, and even more so in Hushi, a city that’s already scorching. Even in winter, people here wear short sleeves and shorts.
Mu Baicheng’s small, dilapidated car, without air conditioning, felt particularly stuffy. Her tank top was completely soaked with sweat, and even with all four windows open, the oppressive heat barely receded.
The car gradually drove from the bustling downtown area into the old city with its low-rise buildings. The traffic light ahead of Mu Baicheng began to flash green, but before she could accelerate, only three seconds remained. She slammed on the brakes, and thankfully, the car stopped just before the crosswalk.
“How unlucky,” Mu Baicheng mumbled, wiping sweat beads from her neck. But the sweat seemed to defy her, continuously trickling from her forehead, down her fair jawline, and into her collar. Mu Baicheng felt sticky all over. She quickly tied up her long hair to avoid looking so disheveled.
Her normally functioning radio suddenly went on strike. A buzzing sound told Mu Baicheng it was done for.
“No way?” Mu Baicheng slapped the radio. She had only paid two hundred yuan to fix it, so why had it suddenly quit again?
The traffic light changed color at that moment. Mu Baicheng stifled the urge to curse, thinking that she absolutely had to confront the radio repairman tomorrow. She had just put the car in gear, her foot still lingering on the brake, when a white figure descended from the sky.
With a loud thud, the white figure landed squarely on Mu Baicheng’s hood. The hood was dented, declaring Mu Baicheng’s secondhand Xiali completely totaled.
Mu Baicheng opened the car door in surprise, staring blankly at the white figure. It was a woman, or more specifically… a female Omega, dressed in Hanfu.
In this world, in addition to male and female genders, there are also Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Alphas and Omegas differentiate later in life. Even if their primary gender is the same, if their secondary genders are different, they can still procreate. In fact, the secondary gender is considered superior to the primary gender.
Mu Baicheng was an Alpha, but she was an Alpha with a naturally defective gland; she couldn’t smell pheromones. Yet at this moment, the scent of gardenias steeped in peach blossom wine told her that the person in front of her was an Omega. Mu Baicheng could clearly smell the other person’s scent.
Mu Baicheng pinched her arm, nervously glancing around. All around her were small, old houses, and this intersection had nothing but a few utility poles.
“What do I do?” Mu Baicheng said, biting her fingernails. How was she going to explain this to the traffic police? Was she supposed to tell the police officer, “Sir, I didn’t hit her, this Omega lady fell from the sky and smashed my car?” The police officer would probably think she was crazy, right?
Mu Baicheng swallowed hard, leaning towards the hood and gently nudging the Omega’s body. “Miss? Miss?”
No movement. Mu Baicheng’s heart sank. Oh no, could this celestial being be dead? It would be even harder to explain now.
Mu Baicheng bravely reached out and brushed away the hair spilled over the Omega’s face. A delicate face was revealed before Mu Baicheng. The moment she clearly saw the Omega’s face, Mu Baicheng froze. This Omega possessed an excessively beautiful face.
Somehow, a line of poetry popped into Mu Baicheng’s mind: “Fragrant mist dampens her cloud-like hair, pure radiance cools her jade arms.” [1] As the poem described, the Omega was very slender, her dark hair like seaweed cascading down her back.
Mu Baicheng reached a hand to the Omega’s nose, trying to check if she was breathing. Suddenly, the Omega opened her eyes. They were as aloof as a cold moon, and the moment her gaze swept over Mu Baicheng, Mu Baicheng even felt the summer heat dissipate, driven away by her eyes.
“You’re awake?” Mu Baicheng’s heart was pounding as she tentatively spoke.
The Omega stared intently at Mu Baicheng, her gaze calm but carrying a faint hint of killing intent. Seeing that the Omega didn’t speak, Mu Baicheng assumed she had hit her head. She put a hand on her shoulder and asked, “Are you alright? You’re so young, why would you…”
Mu Baicheng paused. That didn’t seem right either. There were no tall buildings here; this lady had fallen from the sky. Was this a jump? Mu Baicheng asked herself, realizing it sounded a bit off.
Mu Baicheng scratched her head. Although she was only a half-baked, she was still considered a Daoist. This was probably the strangest thing she had encountered in her career.
The Omega’s sharp gaze fell upon Mu Baicheng’s hand resting on her shoulder. After a moment, the Omega’s eyes narrowed slightly, looking at her own hands with a complex expression.
Her behavior was a bit strange. After looking at her own hands, she then looked at Mu Baicheng’s hands.
“Are you alright?” Mu Baicheng asked with concern.
The Omega looked up and grabbed Mu Baicheng’s hand. The Omega’s hand was somewhat cool, sliding into Mu Baicheng’s sweaty palm.
Mu Baicheng felt a bit flustered, trying to pull her hand away from the Omega. She had never been this close to someone of a different gender. What was happening? Mu Baicheng’s heart hammered like a drum. The Omega suddenly leaned closer, her calm eyes gazing at Mu Baicheng’s face.
The Omega tilted her head, then wrapped her arms around Mu Baicheng’s neck, her soft voice as cool as the bright moon, “My Alpha.”
Mu Baicheng’s body stiffened, never having imagined things would suddenly develop this way. How did it come to this?
“Miss, please don’t say such things.” Mu Baicheng tried to pry the Omega off her, but the Omega refused to cooperate, instead hugging her tighter and tighter until she was practically hanging onto Mu Baicheng.
The Omega felt cool against Mu Baicheng, and instead of making Mu Baicheng feel hotter, it made her feel comfortable. Mu Baicheng knew this couldn’t go on.
This lady had fallen from the sky, and she seemed somewhat disoriented. It would be best to take her to the police station.
Having made up her mind, Mu Baicheng called the insurance company to have her car towed away, then took a taxi to the police station with the Omega.
The fifteen-yuan taxi fare made Mu Baicheng’s heart ache the whole way; that was her entire day’s food budget.
“My Alpha.” The Omega repeated the phrase, burying her small face in Mu Baicheng’s neck.
I didn’t do anything wrong, Mu Baicheng thought, and suddenly the heartache disappeared. This lady was the real big trouble. When paying the taxi driver, Mu Baicheng hadn’t missed his gaze.
That look clearly said: You’re not a human trafficker, are you? In response, Mu Baicheng rolled her eyes at the driver, revealing the clearly lit police station sign behind them. Have you ever seen a human trafficker bring someone to a police station?
She thought the human trafficker accusation was over, but who knew that the look reappeared when they met the police officer.
The young female officer suspiciously sized them up. This Alpha, well, she was pretty, with a strong, mature beauty, just a bit disheveled. But this Omega was truly as beautiful as a celestial being. Most importantly, the Omega didn’t seem to talk much. From every angle… she looked like she had been trafficked.
The officer, who had been serious when looking at Mu Baicheng, now showed a kind smile when facing the Omega.
“What’s your name?”
This kind attitude made Mu Baicheng roll her eyes internally. Sure enough, Omegas were favored in this world, even if this officer was a Beta.
“Qin Xiyao,” the Omega answered, her tone flat, as calm as a voice assistant.
The officer nodded, her smile disappearing as she turned to Mu Baicheng. “And you? What’s your name? What do you do? Where do you live? When is your estrus period? Have you done anything inappropriate to Ms. Qin?”
This string of questions made Mu Baicheng’s lips twitch. So, you’re gentle with the Omega, but this is how you treat me. She still thought of her as a bad person.
Mu Baicheng pursed her lips but patiently answered the officer’s questions.
“What’s your relationship?”
Mu Baicheng shook her head, about to say she had no relation to Qin Xiyao, when Qin Xiyao hooked her arm and buried herself in Mu Baicheng’s embrace. “My Alpha.”
“Hmph.” The officer scoffed, almost breaking the pen in her hand. Are you two messing with me? It’s the middle of the night, and I have to watch you two PDA? Wuwuwu, such a beautiful Omega is already taken, what about me, single for so many years?
“I, I, I… no… we’re not…” Mu Baicheng hastily tried to explain.
Qin Xiyao reached up and covered her mouth. “You don’t want me anymore?”
Even though Qin Xiyao didn’t appear pitiful, when such a beauty says something like that to you, no one can remain indifferent, including Mu Baicheng at that moment.
The officer angrily slammed her notepad shut. “Alright, don’t bring your relationship drama to the police station. Be careful, or I’ll accuse you of wasting public resources.”
The officer recorded their names and meticulously described their “couple” relationship. Mu Baicheng truly had no other option at that moment but to take Qin Xiyao home.
Mu Baicheng lived in a small apartment in the old housing district; calling it a small apartment was an exaggeration. The kitchen was in the public hallway outside the unit door, and with the bathroom barely big enough to stand in, the total area was no more than twenty square meters.
In the cramped space, there was only a simple bed and a worn-out table. The table was piled with books on feng shui, face reading, and the I Ching. Besides that, there was only a 50-inch suitcase by the bed.
Closing the door, Mu Baicheng looked at Qin Xiyao’s Hanfu and took out a large T-shirt from the suitcase on the floor, handing it to Qin Xiyao.
“Go take a shower first. If you get rich later, you can pay me back.”
Qin Xiyao took the clothes, tilted her head, and looked at her, then scanned the small apartment. Mu Baicheng knew she was asking how to shower.
Mu Baicheng had no choice but to lead Qin Xiyao to her small bathroom and show her how to use it. Thankfully, Qin Xiyao quickly grasped how to use the bathroom.
Mu Baicheng sighed in relief. Qin Xiyao’s comprehension was fine, but why did she seem… It wasn’t right to say Qin Xiyao looked foolish. Her voice was flat when she spoke, not like someone with cognitive impairment.
Perhaps there was some unspeakable secret? Mu Baicheng lay on the bed, recalling the scene of meeting Qin Xiyao today. She fell from the sky; could she have crossed over from another world?
Perhaps only such an explanation could convince Mu Baicheng. Mu Baicheng sighed inwardly, Forget it, I’ll take it one step at a time. If Qin Xiyao truly came from another world, arriving suddenly in an unfamiliar place, she must be terrified, right?
Her mind was a tangled mess of thoughts. The old fan provided a precious coolness for a summer night. Mu Baicheng closed her eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep.
She didn’t sleep soundly. The old fan’s low power couldn’t satisfy an Alpha’s need for coolness on a hot summer night, especially since Mu Baicheng was naturally warm-bodied. It wasn’t until a body as cool as jade slipped into her embrace that Mu Baicheng, in her sleep, instinctively held tight to the source of coolness.
In the darkness, Qin Xiyao’s eyes were faintly cold, her originally black pupils instantly turning silver. In her silver eyes, undisguised hatred gleamed as she looked at the sleeping Mu Baicheng.
A cool, slender finger caressed the Alpha’s unguarded neck. Qin Xiyao looked at Mu Baicheng with a complex expression, her finger resting on the other’s neck for a full ten minutes.
The silver receded from her eyes, and Qin Xiyao’s pupils returned to their original black. Her fair, cool fingertips lifted the Alpha’s loose clothing, and her cool body slipped under the Alpha’s clothes. In an instant, the two bodies pressed together, inseparable…
