My Omega is a Top Heavenly Master - Chapter 5
“I think you’re truly mistaken, Mrs. Luo,” Mu Baicheng said in a low voice. “I am indeed short on money, but I won’t use an Omega for a transaction. Qin Xiyao is an individual, not anyone’s accessory.”
A faint smile appeared in Qin Xiyao’s calm eyes. She hadn’t expected this greedy person to say such a thing.
Mrs. Luo’s face turned sour after hearing that. Chen Yao dashed in front of Mu Baicheng and aggressively said, “If you don’t hand over this Omega, then get out of here. This is my mom’s house.”
“Alright.” Qin Xiyao stepped forward, took Mu Baicheng’s hand, and said calmly, “According to the law, your current actions are considered trespassing. It’s time for you to leave.”
“What did you say?” Mrs. Luo scoffed, feeling like she’d heard a joke. “This is my house.”
Qin Xiyao didn’t bother with her. She turned to Mu Baicheng and asked, “Did you sign that thing? Um… a lease agreement?”
Mu Baicheng paused for a moment, then nodded. “Yes, and it expires in half a month.”
Qin Xiyao nodded. In that case, they were indeed in the right. “If that’s the case, then the landlord is in breach of contract. How do you plan to pay the penalty?”
Mrs. Luo’s face completely changed, her old face turning cold. “You little girl, don’t try to bully this old woman who doesn’t understand the law. I’m the landlord, I can take back the house anytime. There’s no such thing as a breach penalty.”
Qin Xiyao didn’t speak, only looked at Mu Baicheng, her eyes seeming to ask for her opinion on whether to pursue the issue.
Chen Yao’s gaze kept sweeping over Qin Xiyao, the desire in his eyes unmistakable. Mu Baicheng felt a chill, subtly hiding Qin Xiyao behind her.
“Mrs. Luo, we’ve known each other for a long time. I won’t pursue this matter. I’ll move out before the contract expires.”
Mrs. Luo scoffed, looking at Mu Baicheng disdainfully. “Fine, let’s see what kind of place a pauper like you can find.”
After speaking, she left with the reluctant Chen Yao. The door closed, and Mu Baicheng looked at the closed door with a heavy heart.
Why did I say all that? I don’t have any money right now. And going head-to-head with the landlady, oh god! Why did I do something like this? What am I going to do now?
Mu Baicheng covered her face in despair. Counting her current money, she was practically broke; the remaining less than twenty thousand yuan was all earned by Qin Xiyao.
“You should leave,” Mu Baicheng sighed. She was already struggling to support herself, and Qin Xiyao could earn money on her own. Following her would only bring hardship.
“Are you trying to kick me out again?” Qin Xiyao placed the money Mu Baicheng had hidden under her pillow into her hand. “I want to live with you. I only know you here. My rent.”
Trying to run away? No chance, Qin Xiyao sneered internally. You haven’t paid back all the magical power you owe me. There’s absolutely no way I’d let you go like that.
Mu Baicheng looked at the stack of banknotes in her hand. This was her only chance. Qin Xiyao was her benefactor now. Understanding this, Mu Baicheng looked at Qin Xiyao with sparkling eyes. “You’re really too kind!” Can I not pay this back?
“This is my rent for you, with one condition: a bigger place,” Qin Xiyao knew what this person was thinking. “The rest is what I’m paying back to you. Didn’t you say I should pay you back when I get rich? And I don’t have an ID, so I’ll still need you to rent a place.”
Mu Baicheng paused, remembering that Qin Xiyao was a non-resident with no local identification, and she was so beautiful. What if someone bullied her? Now that she had taken her money, she had to take responsibility, Mu Baicheng found a reasonable excuse for herself and comfortably put the money in her pocket.
Qin Xiyao was inwardly speechless. The Mu Baicheng of her previous life, like the sun and moon, and the person now, were truly from two different worlds. Could it be that she was blind in her previous life and didn’t see this person’s true nature?
With money in hand, Mu Baicheng was in high spirits when she went out that day, taking Qin Xiyao to a Southern dim sum shop. But when it came time to order, her old habit of agonizing over the cost kicked in.
The waitress looked at Mu Baicheng, who was agonizing over the menu, with some impatience. “Hello, ma’am, have you decided?”
Mu Baicheng cleared her throat. “I need a little more time to look. I’ll call you when I’m ready.”
The waitress pursed her lips, inwardly cursing her for being a pauper. As she turned to leave, her professional smile completely vanished.
Qin Xiyao rested her head in her hand, looking at the conflicted Mu Baicheng. “Let’s go. You don’t want to eat here, do you?”
Without giving Mu Baicheng much time, Qin Xiyao left first. The streets were bustling with traffic, completely different from Qin Xiyao’s previous world. A strange world, and a strange gland at the back of her neck.
Qin Xiyao didn’t know why she had become an Omega, but her divine consciousness told her that Omegas in this world were a vulnerable group. Alphas could mark many Omegas, but an Omega could only accept one Alpha’s mark.
Unable to divine her own future, Qin Xiyao could only believe this was her tribulation for becoming a saint. A thousand years ago, after Mu Baicheng’s unannounced departure, the only thing in Qin Xiyao’s world was becoming a saint.
Qin Xiyao’s nose twitched slightly, detecting an unfamiliar scent. She looked sideways to see Mu Baicheng handing her a paper bucket.
“Family meal,” Mu Baicheng said with a smile. In Mu Baicheng’s impression, Omegas usually liked junk food, but with Qin Xiyao’s ethereal demeanor, Mu Baicheng was truly unsure.
But a dim sum breakfast was too expensive. Was it really necessary to spend five or six hundred yuan for just one breakfast? KJJ’s family bucket was only 53 yuan today with the discount. Wasn’t that better?
Qin Xiyao had never smelled this kind of scent before. She curiously took the family bucket from Mu Baicheng, picked out a burger, opened it, and took a bite.
At first, Qin Xiyao’s face showed some distaste, but as the burger gradually disappeared, Qin Xiyao’s eyes narrowed into a line. “Thank you, it’s delicious.”
Mu Baicheng breathed a sigh of relief. Indeed, Omegas liked these things.
“Can I have it again tomorrow?” Qin Xiyao asked, a rare glimmer of expectation appearing in her cold eyes. After cultivating for a hundred thousand years, Qin Xiyao had almost forgotten what food tasted like. This was the first time she had eaten something so delicious.
Mu Baicheng’s heart skipped a beat at her gaze, and she answered without thinking, “Yes.”
Qin Xiyao didn’t say thank you again, just continued to eat the family bucket in small bites. Though she ate elegantly, she hadn’t stopped since she received the family bucket.
When they reached the real estate agency in the city center, Mu Baicheng glanced at Qin Xiyao awkwardly; her stomach grumbled in complaint. Qin Xiyao heard it and looked at Mu Baicheng cautiously, subtly hiding the family bucket behind her.
Mu Baicheng knew Qin Xiyao was being protective of her food. So even a celestial being could be protective of food? And Qin Xiyao’s appetite was a bit too alarming. Looking at Qin Xiyao’s slender waist, Mu Baicheng wondered where all that food went.
“Hello, my name is Sun, and I’m your dedicated leasing manager for today,” a male Beta in a suit said with a beaming smile.
Without time to appease her rumbling stomach, Mu Baicheng stood up and asked Qin Xiyao, “Do you want to come look at houses?”
Qin Xiyao shook her head. She glanced at the male Beta’s face and knew that he didn’t have the house she wanted. The house she wanted would only appear if she waited here for a while.
Qin Xiyao shook her head, indicating she wouldn’t go along. Mu Baicheng didn’t force Qin Xiyao to come and left with the agent.
Qin Xiyao watched Mu Baicheng leave, then took out the family bucket she had hidden behind her and continued eating unhurriedly. She had just seen Mu Baicheng wanting to snatch her delicious food. Having transmigrated to a different world, this person was stingy, and now she even tried to snatch her food. How embarrassing.
Qin Xiyao had just finished eating when a familiar female voice spoke, “It’s you.”
Liu Suhong appeared without warning, looking at Qin Xiyao with surprise. “You said we’d meet again; I didn’t expect it to be so soon.”
“Mm,” Qin Xiyao replied lightly. Her house had already been delivered to her.
A female Alpha stood beside Liu Suhong, also dressed in a suit like the previous agent. The only difference was that her suit looked considerably more expensive than the male Beta’s.
“Manager Fang, I’ve run into my friend. I’ll talk to you about selling the house another time.”
Manager Fang’s attitude towards Liu Suhong was very respectful. “Alright, Miss Liu. If you need anything, feel free to call me anytime.”
After Manager Fang left, Liu Suhong extended an invitation to Qin Xiyao. “Are you free? Want to grab a cup of coffee?”
Qin Xiyao shook her head. “Can we drink tea?”
Compared to unknown beverages, Qin Xiyao preferred tea. Liu Suhong didn’t object; in her eyes, Qin Xiyao was a divine being.
She took Qin Xiyao to a nearby high-end tea house. Qin Xiyao chose a fragrant bamboo leaf green tea. Her posture while drinking was as elegant as an immortal, a pleasure for Liu Suhong to simply observe.
“If I were an Alpha, I’d definitely pursue you,” Liu Suhong couldn’t help but exclaim.
Qin Xiyao faintly glanced at Liu Suhong’s glabella. Compared to last time, Liu Suhong’s Red Phoenix Star (a sign of romantic luck) was even more obvious, and Liu Suhong’s Red Phoenix Star felt very familiar to Qin Xiyao.
“What you told me last time, I took it to heart. My father never approved of him anyway. He thought he was just a poor boy. I used to foolishly think he truly liked me. But after hearing what you said yesterday, I investigated, and guess what?”
“He’s also been involved with other women,” Qin Xiyao cut to the chase, hitting the nail on the head.
Liu Suhong’s pupils trembled slightly. “You’re truly a god! How did you know? You said my destined partner is a woman, but I’m not interested in women.”
Liu Suhong was currently in a state of half-belief, half-doubt towards Qin Xiyao. Belief because Qin Xiyao accurately stated that she had encountered a scumbag; disbelief because she genuinely had no interest in female Alphas.
Qin Xiyao set down her teacup, her dark eyes calmly gazing at Liu Suhong, a look that seemed to draw one in. “According to your face, you should have dated many men. What was your most intimate contact with them?”
Liu Suhong was choked by the question. She did like those boyfriends, but whenever she had too intimate contact with them, Liu Suhong would feel uncomfortable all over. At the worst times, even simple hand-holding was impossible.
Liu Suhong once thought she had some strange illness, but today, with Qin Xiyao saying this… could her destined partner truly be a woman?
“You cannot touch those men. To be precise, you cannot touch anyone except your destined person.” Qin Xiyao saw the seal on Liu Suhong’s forehead—it was the karmic seal of a Grand Immortal’s marriage. Liu Suhong had already been chosen by a Grand Immortal as her fated companion.
“Then who is she? Where is she?” Liu Suhong asked.
Immortals have laws. Qin Xiyao could not speak of matters above the Grand Immortal level. Even if that Grand Immortal had forgotten when the imprint was left, Qin Xiyao couldn’t directly say it.
“Some things cannot be spoken.”
“Hmph,” Liu Suhong rolled her eyes. “You people always say half and keep half. Oh, right, what are you doing at the real estate agency? Where’s your Alpha?”
Qin Xiyao re-brewed herself a cup of tea. “The old place was too small. I want to rent a new one.”
“I have one!” Liu Suhong patted her chest. “Linmen Wangjiang, a 120-square-meter two-bedroom apartment. If you want it, I’ll give it to you for 3000 yuan a month, with just one small condition.”
“Once a month,” Qin Xiyao stated directly.
Liu Suhong was so surprised she burst out laughing. “You know my condition is to have you read my fortune?”
“Mm,” Qin Xiyao replied. All of this young lady’s demands were written on her face. What was there to guess?
“You really…” Liu Suhong didn’t know what to say. She clearly had no secrets in front of Qin Xiyao.
Qin Xiyao blinked, thinking of something quite important. “Can you help me get an ID card?”
