My Omega is a Top Heavenly Master - Chapter 6
“Huh?” Liu Suhong felt she had misheard. Someone without an ID card in this day and age? She asked uncertainly, “You mean an ID card, the one we use every day?”
Qin Xiyao tilted her head, somewhat confused as to why one would need an ID card every day. “Not every day, right?”
Liu Suhong chuckled awkwardly. She often went to bars to party, and because she looked young, she was always mistaken for being underage. Her ID card was practically always with her.
“Where’s your original identification?”
Qin Xiyao stated as a matter of course, “Lost it.”
“Then your household registration book?”
“Can’t find it.”
Liu Suhong… “Then no one can help you get one. You don’t have a household registration.” As she spoke the last few words, Liu Suhong’s voice grew quieter. She had never expected the person opposite her to be undocumented.
Qin Xiyao saw Liu Suhong’s troubled expression and knew that this matter wouldn’t be easy. The laws of this world were extremely strict; getting an identity seemed quite difficult.
“Oh, right!” Liu Suhong clapped her hands. “Don’t you have an Alpha? Marry her, get your household registration under her name, and then you can apply for a replacement with the marriage certificate.”
Qin Xiyao’s eyes lit up. This was a very good idea. “Thank you.”
The two chatted spiritedly in the tea house. Although it was mostly Liu Suhong’s unilateral enthusiasm, Qin Xiyao only occasionally interjected a few words, but the atmosphere between them was like that of old friends who hadn’t seen each other in years.
More than three hours passed. Liu Suhong’s phone rang several times. Finally, on the fifth ring, Liu Suhong answered impatiently.
“Manager Fang, I’m out with my friend right now. You’d better have something very important to say.” Liu Suhong’s tone wasn’t very good. She had already made it clear to Manager Fang that they would discuss the house another day.
The voice from the other end of the phone wasn’t Manager Fang’s. The anxious voice was familiar. “Miss Liu, is Qin Xiyao with you?”
Liu Suhong covered her face. Damn it, after “kidnapping” Qin Xiyao, she completely forgot the time. The Alpha is worried. Thinking that Qin Xiyao didn’t even have an ID card, not having a phone wasn’t a big deal, right?
“Hey, sorry about that, I ‘kidnapped’ your wife. Got carried away chatting and lost track of time. We’re at Shedun Tea House, No. 58 Chenjiawan.”
“Thank you.” Mu Baicheng’s thanks were stiff; anyone could tell how unhappy she was right now.
About twenty minutes later, Mu Baicheng arrived. The usually cheerful Alpha had a stern face. Liu Suhong secretly thought, Oh no, I shouldn’t get involved in a couple’s quarrel that isn’t aimed at breaking up. After all, this was just another way of showing affection.
Liu Suhong picked up her bag and stood up, saying to Qin Xiyao, “Then you can discuss it with your Alpha. This is my number; call me anytime.”
Qin Xiyao took the business card Liu Suhong handed her and nodded calmly. Mu Baicheng didn’t say a word until Liu Suhong left.
Qin Xiyao handed the business card to Mu Baicheng. “Let’s go.”
The two walked one behind the other on Hushi’s busiest street, the silent atmosphere completely out of place with the surrounding hustle and bustle.
Looking at Qin Xiyao’s back, Mu Baicheng finally couldn’t hold back her anger. She took a few quick steps to stand in front of Qin Xiyao, looking down at her. “How could you just wander off? Do you know how worried I was?”
Qin Xiyao had no identity in this world, no phone. What if she got lost? Mu Baicheng had been incredibly anxious when she returned to the agency after viewing houses with the agent and didn’t see Qin Xiyao.
She ran all over the surrounding area, searching everywhere for Qin Xiyao. After nearly two hours of searching repeatedly, she finally learned from Manager Fang that Qin Xiyao had left with Liu Suhong.
Mu Baicheng’s words stirred a ripple in Qin Xiyao’s heart. Her dark pupils appeared calm, but in the depths, a sadness that Mu Baicheng couldn’t understand rippled. “If I were gone, would you look for me? Would you worry about me?”
“Isn’t that nonsense?” Mu Baicheng was amused by her. “You said you don’t know anyone here. If anything happened to you, I would…”
“Heh.” Qin Xiyao lowered her head, a cold smile gracing her lips. Her long eyelashes hid the silver gleam in her eyes. Mu Baicheng said she would worry about her, would look for her, just for being gone for two hours. But Mu Baicheng… that was a whole thousand years. Qin Xiyao had searched for her like crazy, her footsteps almost covering the land of the Nineteen Provinces over a century.
When you left, did you ever think about how I would feel? Qin Xiyao controlled the emotions in her heart, turned sideways to avoid Mu Baicheng, and continued walking forward on her own. Memories of that time in her past life kept surfacing in her mind. It was hard for her to forget those heartbreaking years.
After a hundred years of fruitless searching, Qin Xiyao could only numb herself with cultivation. The Saint Tribulation allowed her to see Mu Baicheng again. The moment Mu Baicheng appeared before her, Qin Xiyao knew she had never forgotten her, but now… it was more hatred and resentment.
Mu Baicheng looked at Qin Xiyao’s back with some confusion. Wasn’t she the one who was angry right now? Why did Qin Xiyao leave looking unhappy instead?
When a beautiful Omega walked through a bustling area, there were always ill-intentioned people trying to strike up a conversation. Mu Baicheng gritted her teeth, figuring she owed this ancestor. After convincing herself, Mu Baicheng quickly followed.
Qin Xiyao had no desire to wander around the bustling area. With her powerful divine consciousness, she quickly found her way back to the apartment. Mu Baicheng followed all the way. As an Alpha, Mu Baicheng’s physical stamina wasn’t very good, and just following behind Qin Xiyao was quite strenuous.
Finally, they reached their doorstep. Qin Xiyao stood with her arms crossed, leaning against the door, waiting for Mu Baicheng, as the key was on Mu Baicheng.
Mu Baicheng panted as she looked at Qin Xiyao. This Omega was always so aloof, yet sometimes she was a little cute. Mu Baicheng sighed. Although she didn’t know why Qin Xiyao was angry, they would still be living under the same roof, and this atmosphere shouldn’t continue.
Mu Baicheng walked forward, cleared her throat, and said cautiously, “Don’t be angry anymore.”
Qin Xiyao turned her head, avoiding Mu Baicheng’s gaze and not replying. Thinking of this person’s past misdeeds, Qin Xiyao was still seething.
Mu Baicheng brazenly moved closer to Qin Xiyao. “I was wrong, I shouldn’t have been fierce with you.”
Her pitiful expression reflected in Qin Xiyao’s dark eyes, and Qin Xiyao’s lips couldn’t help but curl slightly. Mu Baicheng clearly caught Qin Xiyao’s upturned lips and cheered internally. There’s a chance. Qin Xiyao seemed to be a little unable to resist her pitiful look.
Mu Baicheng bent down, her chin trembling, like a wronged golden retriever, ears drooping, eyes watery, looking at Qin Xiyao. “Don’t be angry, okay? It’s my fault. Can I take you for a burger tonight?”
“Okay.” Qin Xiyao softly uttered the word, signaling the end of their cold war.
Mu Baicheng’s heart eased. She pulled out the key to open the door. “What did you talk about with Miss Liu?”
“She said she has an apartment we can rent, and I asked her to help me get an ID card.”
Mu Baicheng’s hand paused. Qin Xiyao not having an ID card was a big problem right now, and Mu Baicheng truly didn’t have any good solutions at the moment. The laws were very strict now, and ID card verification even more so. Mu Baicheng could imagine what would happen if Qin Xiyao’s transmigrated identity was exposed.
“Mu Baicheng.”
The Omega’s cold but serious voice made Mu Baicheng turn her head, their gazes meeting in the air. Qin Xiyao’s eyes at this moment held a touch more softness than usual. Mu Baicheng absentmindedly hummed in response.
Qin Xiyao leaned closer, the distance between them shrinking infinitely, their noses almost touching. Mu Baicheng could hear her own restless heartbeat.
The Omega’s warm breath carried the rich scent of peach blossom wine and the fresh scent of gardenias. “Marry me.”
Mu Baicheng’s eyes widened, and she instinctively pulled away from Qin Xiyao. “I-I-I… this-this-this… no.”
“Liu Suhong said that marrying you would allow me to get an ID card.”
The cool words made Mu Baicheng calm down. So that’s what Qin Xiyao meant. Mu Baicheng’s heart rate stabilized. “This isn’t a simple matter. We’ve only known each other for two days.”
“Am I not pretty?”
Mu Baicheng was speechless for a moment. “How could that be?” If Qin Xiyao wasn’t pretty, probably no Omega would dare to call herself beautiful.
Qin Xiyao stepped closer, pressing into Mu Baicheng. “Is my figure not good enough?”
Her heart, now unbalanced, pounded again. Qin Xiyao’s figure flashed in Mu Baicheng’s mind. How could that be?
“Are you repulsed by me?” Qin Xiyao spoke again. Although she wasn’t releasing any pheromones, Mu Baicheng felt herself faltering.
“No…” What could she say? As an Alpha with a defective gland, if an Omega was willing to be with her in this life, she should be incredibly grateful. But an Omega like Qin Xiyao following her… Mu Baicheng felt a bit bitter inside.
Qin Xiyao probably didn’t understand. She just wanted an identity. Mu Baicheng turned sideways to avoid her. “Marriage is a big deal. You should think about it carefully. You can’t tie yourself to someone you’ve only known for two days just for an ID card.”
“Two days?” Qin Xiyao chuckled softly. I’ve known you for a thousand years. “So, you’re unwilling, right?”
“I…”
“No pressure,” Qin Xiyao interrupted. Under the Jianmu tree where the sun shines brightest, didn’t you say ‘for all lifetimes’ was just a joke too? Very well, without your past life memories, you’ll refuse directly.
“I’ll figure out another way for your identity,” Mu Baicheng promised.
“Why go through all that trouble, Xiao Mu? If you’re unwilling to marry this sister, my son certainly is.”
Mrs. Luo was back again. This time, Mu Baicheng was genuinely annoyed with her. “Mrs. Luo, aren’t you going too far?”
Mrs. Luo feigned a wronged look at the still-closed apartment door. “I didn’t go in this time, Xiao Mu. It’s hard to find a house, isn’t it? Why are you young people so unreasonable?”
“Exactly! Just hand over that Omega to me,” Chen Yao stared unblinkingly at Qin Xiyao’s profile, his Adam’s apple bobbing. So beautiful. His gaze fell on Qin Xiyao’s exposed waist. Chen Yao swallowed. So slender.
Mu Baicheng looked at Chen Yao with disgust, blocking his ill-intentioned gaze. Her eyes coldly fixed on Mrs. Luo. “Mrs. Luo, we will be moving out today. This is your formal notice.”
She had originally been reluctant to go to Liu Suhong’s place because that was the apartment Qin Xiyao had secured. But now, Chen Yao’s intentions toward Qin Xiyao were as clear as day.
Mrs. Luo’s face changed, but inwardly she didn’t believe Mu Baicheng, this pauper, could find a suitable house so quickly. “Fine, if you haven’t moved out by tomorrow morning, don’t blame me for being impolite.”
After saying that, she left with Chen Yao. Qin Xiyao watched as countless wronged souls followed Chen Yao, the black aura of death almost solidifying into a physical form.
A small white figure was perched on Chen Yao’s shoulder, dispelling the black death aura for him. Qin Xiyao’s eyes darkened. How could one who deserves to die still be protected by a pure soul?
“I’m sorry, we’ll have to work hard today,” Mu Baicheng sighed, looking at the time. She wished she had just told Mrs. Luo about moving tomorrow.
Qin Xiyao hummed faintly and met Mu Baicheng’s gaze. “Let’s move.”
Their belongings weren’t much and were quickly packed. Qin Xiyao informed Liu Suhong, who helped them hire a moving company. Within half an hour, the two were in a car heading to their new home.
Qin Xiyao’s eyes were fixed on the rearview mirror. The small white soul entity that had been perched on Chen Yao’s shoulder was now lying on the ground, watching Qin Xiyao leave.
“Life and death are fated; souls break at noon and midnight.”
Qin Xiyao said faintly. Her gaze shifted downward. A small black cat sat calmly in Qin Xiyao’s arms, its body emitting a black aura of death.
The kitten continuously rubbed its head against Qin Xiyao’s palm. Qin Xiyao gently tapped its forehead. “Good, you can get your revenge tonight.”
Night fell. Chen Yao walked into the old housing district’s alley with a liquor bottle in hand. He didn’t see the tiny black figures following silently behind him, entering the alley together.
