My Omega is a Top Heavenly Master - Chapter 7
Meow, meow, meow. A group of stray cats ate cold leftovers in a dark corner. Some younger ones had to wait for the older stray cats to finish first.
When they saw someone approach, they immediately walked obediently to Chen Yao’s feet, rubbing against his ankles. They were trying to beg for food from this human.
Chen Yao looked at the kittens surrounding him with a disgusted expression and kicked one away. “How unlucky!”
The kitten cried out. Its tiny body was kicked against the wall. It looked pitifully at the human. It didn’t know what it had done wrong for this human to suddenly attack it.
“Meow?” The injured kitten let out a pitiful cry. Its siblings, seeing what happened, all fled, hiding behind the trash can and trembling as they watched Chen Yao.
Chen Yao stepped forward and kicked the kitten’s belly again. “What am I lacking compared to that pauper Mu Baicheng? That beautiful Omega should have been mine.”
“You filthy beasts, you should die in a corner like trash like Mu Baicheng.” Chen Yao kicked harder and harder. The kitten, which had been screaming at first, gradually lost its life.
Chen Yao’s gaze fell behind the trash can. He clearly wasn’t doing this for the first time. He expertly smashed the liquor bottle at a kitten, hitting one.
A desperate “meow” echoed, sounding utterly desolate in the dark night. Chen Yao wasn’t satisfied. He walked closer and began kicking the kitten’s abdomen again.
Only when this kitten, like the previous one, had completely stopped breathing did Chen Yao cease. He skillfully picked up the kittens’ bodies, one in each hand, and threw them into the trash can.
Just as Chen Yao was about to leave, a strange sound came from behind him.
“Chen Yao.”
Chen Yao turned around but saw no one. Had he misheard? Chen Yao didn’t pay it any mind and walked toward the alley entrance again.
“Chen Yao, where are you going?” The voice sounded again. The only difference was that the previous voice had come from afar.
But this time, the voice was right beside him. Chen Yao broke out in a cold sweat. He looked around. No one.
“Who’s there? Don’t play tricks, I’m not afraid of you.”
“Oh really?” A black figure moved through the dim streetlight. The moonlight and streetlight stretched the black shadow long. It was a four-legged creature, moving lightly.
A cat? Chen Yao thought suspiciously. Are there cats this big?
“Where are you going?”
Chen Yao swallowed, sobering up considerably. “None of your business, I’m going home.”
“Hahahaha, stay and play! Weren’t you having a great time just now?”
Cold sweat appeared on Chen Yao’s forehead. His face, which had been flushed from drinking, turned pale in an instant. He saw a scene he would never forget for the rest of his life: the kitten he had just thrown into the trash can jumped out of the trash can.
They were still in their pre-death forms. Both kittens were covered in bl00d, and even their eyes were a gruesome bloody red. Chen Yao stumbled back repeatedly in fear. “Don’t come near me!”
“Hehehe, we’re here to play with you.” One kitten licked its paw, its voice coming directly from the kitten’s mouth.
Chen Yao had never encountered anything like this. He stumbled and fell to the ground. “What do you want? You beasts!”
“What do we want? You had so much fun just now, now it’s our turn.” One kitten leaped high, its jump far exceeding Chen Yao’s understanding.
The kitten’s sharp claws glinted coldly in the moonlight, about to strike Chen Yao’s face. Suddenly, a white flash appeared, and a white mass blocked Chen Yao.
“Get lost, dead dog!” The kitten’s fur bristled. It let out a warning growl.
The white ball of light coalesced into a white bichon dog. Chen Yao looked at the suddenly appearing bichon, somewhat stunned. “Dudu?”
That was the bichon he had as a child. Chen Yao was a mischievous child back then. When he took Dudu out to play, he deliberately went to the middle of the road and unleashed the dog. Dudu was hit by a car and died.
Chen Yao was only seven years old then and forgot about the dog shortly after.
“Woof, woof, woof.” The little dog stood in front of Chen Yao, its defensive posture telling the kitten not to harm Chen Yao.
“Originally, the grudge had its owner, but you insisted on seeking death, so don’t blame us.” Saying this, the kitten let out a long, mournful wail toward the sky.
Countless black figures emerged from the darkness, all of them the kittens Chen Yao had harmed before. He took pleasure in harming stray animals.
Especially these cats. No need to ask why Chen Yao didn’t provoke stray dogs; stray dogs were all large, and Chen Yao was afraid of being attacked, so he chose to bully these cats. Among these cats, there were especially many kittens and old cats.
“Dead dog, get out of the way quickly. If you want to be scattered, we won’t show mercy.”
As the speaking kitten’s words fell, the black cats all let out warning whimpers. The bichon retreated two steps, tightly shielding Chen Yao behind it.
Even facing a hundred or so wronged kitten souls, Dudu didn’t flee. Chen Yao cowered behind the bichon, looking in horror at the surrounding black cats, then hardened his heart and kicked the bichon in front of him.
Sorry, Dudu. Humans need to survive. He wanted to kick Dudu into the cat crowd to buy himself a chance to escape. But Chen Yao’s foot passed right through Dudu’s body.
Dudu froze, then turned around, its round eyes looking at Chen Yao in confusion, as if asking him why he was abandoning it again.
Chen Yao didn’t feel the slightest bit of guilt because of Dudu’s gaze. “Why are you looking at me? I’m your owner. Isn’t it only natural for you to save me?”
“Nothing is ‘only natural’,” A figure emerged from the alley entrance, stepping into the moonlight.
Qin Xiyao’s dark hair instantly turned silvery-white. A small cat stepped twice in the air and landed on Qin Xiyao’s shoulder. A closer look revealed it was the same cat Qin Xiyao had been holding in the car.
“It’s you!” Chen Yao stood up from the ground, looking at Qin Xiyao’s silver hair with some surprise. “You’re not human, you’re a demon.”
“No.” Qin Xiyao extended her hand towards the white bichon. The bichon whimpered, its body shrinking into a white ball. The white light rode the wind and flew into Qin Xiyao’s palm.
“You are the demon,” the cold voice fell.
Qin Xiyao’s eyes opened, her silver pupils shining brighter than the moonlight. She formed a hand seal with her left hand. The surrounding cats cried out joyfully, their low growls proclaiming their power at this moment.
“Go, souls scattered at midnight, karma’s retribution.”
As soon as her words fell, the black cats swarmed onto Chen Yao’s body. They tore at Chen Yao’s skin and gnawed at his flesh and bl00d.
Of course, these cats couldn’t actually gnaw on Chen Yao’s physical body, but Chen Yao’s soul was torn to shreds by their rending. The cats didn’t want to consume such a filthy soul.
After tearing Chen Yao’s soul apart, they all ran to Qin Xiyao’s feet.
“Immortal, we beg you for his soul to be completely scattered.” The black cat on her shoulder’s pupils changed from round to eerily vertical. The hatred in its voice was undisguised; it was begging Qin Xiyao to completely crush Chen Yao’s soul.
Qin Xiyao had not yet answered when the white light in her palm let out a whimper, seemingly pleading with Qin Xiyao not to do so.
“Stupid dog!” The black cat on her shoulder’s fur bristled instantly, letting out a warning toward the white light in Qin Xiyao’s palm. “Have you forgotten how he treated you?”
“But he was also my owner. When I had no food on the streets, he gave me food.”
The bichon’s words echoed in the air, its voice as innocent as a child’s. Qin Xiyao sighed. “What you owed him was long repaid with your companionship and your life. You are a pure soul. Do you have any wishes?”
“I want to…”
“Chen Yao must have his soul scattered,” Qin Xiyao interrupted coldly. The ominous energy around Chen Yao was almost solidifying. If it weren’t for the bichon’s protection, he would have likely been killed by it long ago. This was the karma he had accrued. If Chen Yao’s soul wasn’t scattered, then the souls of these cats would gradually become malevolent spirits wandering the human world.
Only Chen Yao’s complete disappearance could quell their rage and allow their souls to return to the Cat Star.
Dudu was silent for a moment. “Can I follow you, Immortal?”
“You should reincarnate. In your next life, you will become human.”
“No, I want to follow the immortal and cultivate. Collecting good deeds for my master can also be considered atonement for him.”
“Dogs are just stupid,” the black cat licked its paw, not understanding the bichon’s way of thinking.
Qin Xiyao gave the black cat a cold glance. The black cat was startled by her gaze and wisely jumped down from Qin Xiyao’s shoulder.
Qin Xiyao formed a seal with one hand and drew a symbol in the air with her magic in the other. “Thunder and Bite. The former kings used clear laws to enforce punishment [1]. Execute.”
The magic symbol, drawn in the air, circled twice, transforming into countless golden ropes that tightly bound Chen Yao’s soul. Each rope emitted sizzling sounds of lightning. Chen Yao’s soul still tried to struggle, and the silver in Qin Xiyao’s eyes intensified.
“Bind,” she said faintly. The ropes transformed into golden silk sashes, tightly wrapping around Chen Yao’s soul and continuously tightening until the lightning weakened and the soul inside stopped struggling.
Qin Xiyao’s hair gradually turned black, and the silver in her eyes faded. The black aura around the cats also vanished the moment Chen Yao completely disappeared.
“Thank you, Immortal.” The cats returned to their appearance before death, all with fuzzy little faces.
Golden light emanated from the cats. Qin Xiyao extended her bare hand, and the golden light converged in her palm, becoming a golden bead.
Qin Xiyao’s lips curled slightly. She hadn’t expected to gain a century’s worth of merit. Her open palm, which had held the bichon, now revealed Dudu appearing in the alley again.
The white light emanating from Dudu formed a white path, extending into the distance from Dudu as its source. Qin Xiyao pointed at the white path for the group of cats. “Pure souls will guide you to the right place. Go.”
The little cats meowed, their joyful mood evident in their cries. One by one, the kittens’ paws touched the white path, their souls transforming into tiny white specks. The summer night wind blew them apart, scattering them into the sky.
Amidst the sparkling white light, a soft golden glow emerged. This gold slowly gathered together, settling upon Dudu.
“Immortal, this is…” Dudu discovered with surprise that it could now materialize.
Qin Xiyao’s eyes held a warm smile. “Having transmuted so many living beings, this is your merit.”
With the matter concluded, Qin Xiyao turned and walked out of the alley. After only two steps, her vision gradually blurred. Qin Xiyao’s steps faltered, and she leaned against the low wall.
Oh no, I’ve overused my magical power. Her eyelids grew heavier and heavier; she was about to go into a dormant state. Just as she was about to fall, she heard Dudu’s worried barks.
After falling into a familiar embrace, she heard a voice she hadn’t heard in a thousand years: “Yaoyao.”
Qin Xiyao wanted to open her eyes and see if she had returned. Qin Xiyao wanted to ask her why she had left. But her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, and Qin Xiyao could only close her eyes amidst Dudu’s barks.
