My Online Lover Lives Next Door (GL) - Chapter 15
He Qing felt like she had become bolder. After feeling nothing from her first kiss with Jian Fanxing, she suddenly had the urge to kiss her again while staring at her lips.
Just like how she had touched Jian Fanxing’s face with her hand—since she was asleep, she wouldn’t notice. He Qing promised herself she wouldn’t use too much force, just a light touch… a gentle brush. She would let go as soon as she tasted it.
He Qing kept convincing herself as her head unknowingly lowered closer and closer. Her heart pounded wildly, and finally, her lips touched Jian Fanxing’s.
The moment their lips met, He Qing realized how soft Jian Fanxing’s lips were—like jelly, with a hint of sweetness. She wasn’t sure if it was from the wheat in the alcohol, but it made her want to savor the taste even more.
He Qing prided herself on her self-control, but when it came to Jian Fanxing, all of it seemed to crumble. She had only meant to kiss her once, just to know what it felt like, and then let go. But after actually kissing her, she found herself unwilling to pull away. She wanted to keep kissing her.
Maybe she unconsciously applied too much pressure because Jian Fanxing let out a soft, uncomfortable murmur.
Startled, He Qing quickly lifted her head and fixed her gaze on the wall across the bed, pretending as if she were examining an important document that determined the fate of a corporation.
A moment passed, and after that soft murmur, the room fell silent again. He Qing visibly relaxed.
Lowering her head slightly, she glanced at Jian Fanxing like a child who had done something wrong, quickly scanning her face.
She’s still asleep? He Qing’s wildly beating heart finally returned to normal.
But when she thought about what she had just done, she scoffed at herself.
How impressive, He Qing.
It was just a kiss, and you acted like some sneaky thief.
Are you still the mighty CEO of the He Corporation?
What a coward.
But when it came to her feelings for Jian Fanxing, she really was a coward.
Shaking her head, He Qing carefully placed Jian Fanxing’s head back onto the pillow so she could sleep more comfortably.
But just as He Qing was about to withdraw her hand, the supposedly well-behaved sleeper, Jian Fanxing, suddenly reached out, pulling He Qing into her embrace. Caught off guard, He Qing lost her balance and fell onto the bed. Jian Fanxing instinctively wrapped her legs around her, clinging to her like a koala.
He Qing: “???”
“Fanxing?” Worried that Jian Fanxing might not be comfortable, He Qing called her name softly, her voice just loud enough for her to hear.
Jian Fanxing did hear her. She frowned in displeasure and mumbled groggily, “What?”
As she spoke, she tightened her grip around He Qing and murmured, “Don’t… don’t take her away. She’s mine. Sister is mine. Sister belongs to me alone.”
He Qing pressed her lips together, hesitating. She tried to struggle a bit, but the more she moved, the tighter Jian Fanxing held her. Realizing she was trapped, He Qing gave up.
Turning her head slightly, she looked at Jian Fanxing’s peaceful sleeping face. They were so close that she could feel the warmth of each other’s breath against their skin.
“Little Star, you’re the one keeping me here,” He Qing whispered gently.
Though morning hadn’t arrived yet, He Qing could already picture Jian Fanxing’s reaction when she woke up and found them in this position. She had tried to avoid this situation, but it was Jian Fanxing who had insisted on keeping her here.
Since Jian Fanxing wanted her to stay, she had no choice but to stay.
He Qing had always been a light sleeper, but that night, lying next to Jian Fanxing, she didn’t wake up once—until a sharp scream pierced the air.
“Why are you in my bed?!” Jian Fanxing’s eyes were full of alarm as she scrambled to the very edge of the bed.
He Qing… why was she in her bed?
What shocked her even more was that when she woke up, she found herself clinging to He Qing like an octopus. Their bodies were pressed together, separated only by thin layers of fabric. She could even feel the curves and softness of He Qing’s body.
At first, Jian Fanxing thought she was dreaming. She pinched herself hard, felt the pain, and screamed before quickly putting as much distance between them as possible.
He Qing had already anticipated Jian Fanxing’s reaction and remained unfazed. She sat up slowly, frowning slightly as a sore ache spread through her waist.
“Miss He, why are you in my bed?” Jian Fanxing questioned again when she saw He Qing was awake.
“You were the one who insisted I stay,” He Qing replied calmly while placing her hands on her waist, massaging it to relieve the soreness.
“I insisted? How could I… wait, what’s wrong with your waist?” Jian Fanxing had been about to argue but paused when she noticed He Qing’s movements. Her eyes widened as a horrifying thought crossed her mind.
Did she… do something inappropriate to He Qing last night?
“Sore. Aching. And my neck too,” He Qing answered, her voice laced with exhaustion. Her neck had been held by Jian Fanxing all night, making it just as sore as her waist.
Jian Fanxing followed He Qing’s gaze and noticed something shining on her neck. Wait… was that… drool?
Why was there drool on He Qing’s neck? Could it be… hers? Jian Fanxing’s pupils dilated in horror.
She was sure she usually slept properly! How could she have drooled?
“What’s wrong?” He Qing noticed Jian Fanxing’s intense stare and reached up to touch her neck.
Jian Fanxing panicked and blurted out, “He Qing, what are you doing?!”
He Qing was baffled. The powerful CEO suddenly looked utterly confused. “??? I… was just going to touch my own neck… is that not allowed?”
“Of course not!” Jian Fanxing exclaimed urgently.
“But…” He Qing hesitated. It was her own neck, after all.
“No buts.” Jian Fanxing completely forgot about her initial questioning. She also forgot that she and He Qing were just new neighbors. Ignoring the need to maintain distance, she swiftly jumped out of bed, strode to He Qing, and wrapped her hands around He Qing’s neck, rubbing furiously.
“You said your neck was sore, right? I’ll massage it for you.” Jian Fanxing quickly came up with an excuse for her sudden actions.
She just couldn’t let He Qing realize she had drooled on her.
He Qing hesitated. If this was a massage, why did it feel like Jian Fanxing was wiping down a table with a cloth?
Still, it was rare for Jian Fanxing to approach her willingly, so He Qing kept her complaints to herself.
Fine, as long as Little Star was happy.
A smile slowly formed on He Qing’s lips.
Just then, Lu Yao entered the room and saw Jian Fanxing practically embracing He Qing.
“You two… are moving fast, huh?” Lu Yao teased from the doorway.
Jian Fanxing instantly shoved He Qing away.
The push was too strong, and He Qing stumbled back, hitting the wall.
A muffled grunt escaped her lips, and she briefly frowned before masking her discomfort.
Jian Fanxing heard the sound but saw no trace of pain on He Qing’s face. Thinking she had imagined it, she turned to Lu Yao. “Don’t talk nonsense! Miss He just had a sore neck, so I was helping her massage it.”
“And besides, I have a girlfriend! I wouldn’t—” Jian Fanxing abruptly stopped mid-sentence, her confidence deflating. Her expression darkened with sorrow.
“I don’t have a girlfriend anymore,” she whispered, wrapping her arms around herself and crouching down. Her voice trembled with sadness.
Soft sobs soon followed.
Both Lu Yao and He Qing were taken aback.
He Qing clenched her fists, her heart aching for her.
But what right did she have to comfort her?
She was the reason for Jian Fanxing’s pain.
Taking a deep breath, He Qing turned to Lu Yao. “Stay with her. I need to go to work.”
Without looking back, He Qing strode out the door.
Without looking back, He Qing strode out the door.
Lu Yao watched her leave, momentarily stunned. “She just left?” she muttered.
She thought He Qing liked Jian Fanxing. From the way she acted last night, her words, her actions—was it all just a misunderstanding?
Lu Yao suddenly found herself unable to figure out their new neighbor.
She had been so obvious about her feelings for Jian Fanxing, yet when the moment came, when she had the chance to step up, she chose to walk away?
Lu Yao couldn’t understand it. But she didn’t dwell on it either. Instead, she crouched beside Jian Fanxing and patted her back gently. “Come on, stop crying. You even scared He Qing away.”
Jian Fanxing sniffled and lifted her tear-streaked face. “Lu Yao, why was He Qing in my room? Why were we… sleeping in the same bed?”
Lu Yao’s eyes widened in shock. “You slept in the same bed?”
“What the hell?! When did she climb into your bed?!”
