My Online Lover Lives Next Door (GL) - Chapter 29
“You think just because you say so, I have to listen?” Jian Fanxing huffed as she changed direction, lifting her foot to climb the stairs. “I was going home anyway, not because of you.”
Jian Fanxing walked ahead, and He Qing followed closely behind. When she walked fast, He Qing quickened her pace; when she slowed down, He Qing did the same.
When they reached the third floor, Jian Fanxing stopped in front of her door and turned to look at the person behind her.
She stood with her back against her own door, silent, as if waiting for He Qing to follow her inside.
Was she planning to cling to her now? Jian Fanxing pressed her lips together, trying hard to suppress the smile that wanted to creep up, then put on a stern face. “Miss He, your house is across the hall. You’re at the wrong door.”
“I’m not,” He Qing answered smoothly. She looked directly into Jian Fanxing’s unhappy eyes and firmly said, “Wherever you are, that’s where my home is.”
Jian Fanxing: “…”
She could barely keep her lips from curling up.
She turned her gaze aside and muttered, “Don’t think that just because you say sweet things, I’ll let you in.”
He Qing fell silent. If Jian Fanxing really didn’t want her to enter, she would just wait outside. As long as it took, until Jian Fanxing changed her mind.
She had made a mistake. If Little Star wanted to punish her, she deserved it.
So when Jian Fanxing opened the door, He Qing simply stood there, making no move to step inside.
Jian Fanxing took a few steps in before realizing something was wrong. She turned to look back—she was inside, and He Qing was still standing obediently outside, not even trying to enter.
Jian Fanxing: “…”
When did she become so obedient?! She was so assertive downstairs!
Jian Fanxing wanted to let her in, but she’d just said she wouldn’t. Changing her mind now would be embarrassing.
She hesitated for a few seconds, then bang!—she shut the door.
“Come in if you want or don’t. Hmph.”
Outside, He Qing watched the door close and let out a bitter chuckle. She didn’t blame Jian Fanxing. She only thought—she deserved it.
If this made Little Star feel better, she could slam the door a few more times. If the door broke, she’d just buy a new one.
Inside, after shutting the door, Jian Fanxing quickly pressed her ear against it, listening carefully.
No footsteps leaving.
Was she really planning to just stand there?
Jian Fanxing bit her lip, torn.
She had already vented her anger—should she just let her in?
Otherwise, who knew how long she’d stay outside?
From their time as online friends, Jian Fanxing knew that He Qing was the kind of person with incredible patience. What others found difficult to endure, she managed with ease. If she decided to do something, she would see it through no matter what.
And standing for too long would make her legs sore. What if she couldn’t even walk to work tomorrow and blamed her for bullying her?
Jian Fanxing tried to convince herself, listening for any sign of movement outside.
Finally, she sighed and opened the door. “Come in.”
Her face was still stern, but she had given in.
A flash of joy appeared on He Qing’s face. She nodded heavily and stepped inside.
But unlike before, she didn’t just find a place to sit down. Instead, wherever Jian Fanxing went, she followed—like a little tail.
Jian Fanxing was annoyed. “He, what exactly are you trying to do?”
“I just wanted to ask… are you still mad?” He Qing looked into her eyes and asked directly.
“Hah, what if I am? And what if I’m not?” Jian Fanxing crossed her arms and stared coldly at He Qing.
She already knew what He Qing was up to—she wanted to make up with her.
Jian Fanxing secretly looked forward to seeing how her sister planned to coax her.
He Qing wasn’t good at comforting people, but while waiting for Jian Fanxing at home, she had looked it up online. The best way to cheer someone up wasn’t words—it was physical closeness.
Of course, that only worked if the fight wasn’t too serious.
Since Jian Fanxing had let her in, He Qing figured it was worth a try.
She gazed at Jian Fanxing. Their eyes met. Jian Fanxing glared back defiantly. What? Was she trying to see whose eyes were bigger?
As she grumbled internally, she noticed He Qing suddenly leaning in.
They were so close that she could feel her breath.
Jian Fanxing’s calm expression instantly shattered. She stiffened and tried to keep her posture straight, but her voice trembled slightly. “Y-you… What are you doing?”
She took a step back, her eyes unconsciously landing on He Qing’s lips.
A strange impulse bubbled up inside her.
She… wanted to taste them. Were they soft? Like jelly?
A little devil in her mind whispered, tempting her.
Realizing what she was thinking, Jian Fanxing quickly raised a hand to push He Qing away. But instead, her hand landed on something soft.
She froze.
Like a thief caught in the act, she yanked her hand back instantly.
“I-I-I-I… I didn’t do that on purpose!” Jian Fanxing’s face turned red as she stammered in panic.
She had just touched her sister’s chest.
What did it feel like? Soft… and kind of bouncy?
Stop, Jian Fanxing! What are you thinking?!
She lowered her head, silently scolding herself.
But then—her chin was lifted.
She looked up and fell into the depths of He Qing’s dark eyes. Like a black hole, sucking her in.
He Qing leaned in even closer.
Was she… really going to kiss her?
Jian Fanxing blinked. Then she did something unexpected.
She closed her eyes.
And a kiss, just as she had anticipated, landed gently on the corner of her lips. A tentative touch, testing the waters.
Sensing no resistance, He Qing grew bolder.
From a light brush to a slow, teasing exploration, until finally, she claimed Jian Fanxing’s lips completely—cherishing them, playing with them.
Then, as if unsatisfied with just lingering outside, something soft and warm sought entrance.
“Mmph…” A quiet sound escaped from Jian Fanxing’s throat.
She was done for.
She had completely melted into He Qing’s kiss.
She had no rationality left—only one thought: Let this last longer. Just a little longer.
Her body had gone weak, like jelly. At some point, He Qing’s strong arms wrapped around her waist, holding her steady.
Only when Jian Fanxing’s breathing became heavy, on the verge of running out of air, did He Qing finally let her go.
Their eyes met, both filled with lingering emotions.
Jian Fanxing pouted. “How are you so good at… kissing?”
“Have you… practiced before?” Her voice trailed off, filled with jealousy.
“No,” He Qing answered firmly, her gaze unwavering. “Only with you. It’s always been only you.”
She wouldn’t let just anyone into her heart.
As for her kissing skills…
The tips of He Qing’s ears turned slightly red. “I… watched videos to learn.”
Jian Fanxing: “What?”
“The kiss,” He Qing said calmly.
Jian Fanxing’s face turned scarlet. She pushed He Qing away in frustration. “You… you’re so…”
A total flirt!
But deep down, she was already replaying that kiss in her mind.
And… she kind of wanted to try again?
Oh no.
She was turning into a flirt too.
With a troubled expression, she sighed.
He Qing smiled. “So… are you still mad?”
“Of course I’m mad! If the roles were reversed, wouldn’t you be angry too?” Jian Fanxing huffed. But her sharp tone had softened significantly.
He Qing didn’t hesitate. “Little Star, I was wrong. I promise it won’t happen again.”
“I was just… afraid you’d leave me,” she admitted softly.
Jian Fanxing sighed, then wrapped her arms around He Qing. “Fine. But if you ever lie to me again, I’ll never forgive you.”
He Qing hugged her tightly. “I won’t.”
Just then—grumble grumble.
Jian Fanxing blushed. “Sister, I’m hungry.”
“What do you want to eat? Let’s go out.”
“How about… a candlelight dinner?”
He Qing smiled. “Okay.”
After all, no girl would dislike romance.
He Qing picked up her phone and sent a message to Lu Feng.
Lu Feng had made the dinner reservation. Earlier, when she had argued with Jian Fanxing, she thought she wouldn’t need it anymore and told Lu Feng to cancel it. But now, maybe it wasn’t too late to change her mind?!
When Lu Feng received the message from his boss, he let out a surprised sound. Just a moment ago, they had fallen out over the phone, and now she was asking for a candlelight dinner? That was just like his boss.
He quickly called the restaurant to book the table again.
After finishing the task, Lu Feng sent an “OK” message to his boss and was rewarded with a thumbs-up emoji. He grinned at his phone.
With his efficiency, it seemed like his salary might get a raise again.
Ring, ring, ring…
The crisp ringtone interrupted Lu Feng’s happy moment. When he saw the caller ID, his expression immediately became serious.
“Old Mr. He.”
“Lu Feng, how’s the company doing? Is it very busy? I just called He Qing twice, but that girl didn’t answer. Help me pass the phone to her—I have something to tell her.”
