My Online Lover Lives Next Door (GL) - Chapter 34
Jian Fanxing nodded repeatedly. Looking at the beautiful and gentle woman in the photo, she turned to He Qing and said, “Sister, tell me about Auntie’s story. I want to hear it.”
He Qing sat with Jian Fanxing in the study and began telling stories about her mother.
He Qing was an excellent storyteller. Jian Fanxing was completely absorbed, so much so that she didn’t even notice her phone ringing.
When she finally felt sleepy, she glanced toward the living room and realized that it was already dark outside. The clock on the table showed it was 11 p.m.
“Sister, I have to go home now.” Jian Fanxing stood up, ready to say goodbye.
As soon as Jian Fanxing left, the once-filled space suddenly felt empty. He Qing was momentarily stunned, feeling as if not only the seat beside her was vacant, but her heart had also become hollow.
That emptiness deepened even more when she heard Jian Fanxing say she was going home.
Suddenly, He Qing reached out and held Jian Fanxing’s hand. Jian Fanxing looked down, and He Qing gazed up at her. Her lips moved slightly, and in a soft voice, she murmured, “Can you… not go back?”
As soon as she finished speaking, before Jian Fanxing could respond, He Qing quickly stood up, took Jian Fanxing’s hand, and led her toward the door. Her expression was calm as she said, “I’ll walk you home.”
The sudden change in attitude made it seem like she had never said those words at all.
Jian Fanxing was still in a daze when He Qing dropped her off at home. She stood in the living room for a while, trying to confirm that the quiet, almost pleading request hadn’t been a hallucination.
Her sister had really asked her to stay.
The more time she spent with He Qing, the better she understood her, and the more her heart ached for her girlfriend.
To outsiders, He Qing seemed glamorous and successful, but only Jian Fanxing knew that beneath that dazzling surface was loneliness.
She didn’t know how her sister had gathered the courage to say those words, but she was sure it hadn’t been easy.
Jian Fanxing suddenly felt the urge to run back across the street—to stay by her sister’s side, always and forever.
But in the end, she suppressed the impulse. Even though she and her sister had been in an online relationship for years, today was their first day together in real life. If she stayed over right away, would He Qing think she was too easy?
Just then, her phone rang again.
She picked it up—it was her mother calling.
“Mom, what are you doing?” Jian Fanxing answered cheerfully.
“What am I doing? I should be asking you that! Xingxing, why didn’t you answer your phone just now?” her mother asked.
“I was just…” Jian Fanxing hesitated, pressing her lips together. “I was at a friend’s house.”
“A friend? It’s already past eleven at night. A young girl like you shouldn’t be wandering around so late. Be careful,” her mother warned.
It’s said that a mother worries when her child is far away, and the same goes for daughters. Ever since Jian Fanxing started living on her own, her mother’s heart had been constantly on edge, checking in on her every few days to make sure she was safe.
“Hey, Mom, is this friend a boyfriend? Sister, are you dating someone?” A curious, young male voice chimed in from her mother’s side.
Jian Fanxing instantly felt guilty. Without hesitation, she denied it, “Xiaofeng, what nonsense are you talking about? Where would I even get a boyfriend? Dating? I’m only twenty-five! Why would I date now?”
“I think you’re the one in your teenage years who wants to fall in love,” she retorted.
Jian Feng: “…Sister, I was just joking. Why are you so nervous?”
“Mom, I’m 80% sure my sister is dating someone,” Jian Feng announced confidently to their mother after teasing his sister.
Their mother also found her daughter’s response a little too quick, more like a cover-up than an explanation.
Instead of pressing her daughter for answers, she made a mental note and simply reminded her again, “Xingxing, no matter who your friends are, you shouldn’t be staying out so late. Keep track of the time.”
“Okay, okay, I got it, Mom. I’m going to take a shower now. Bye!” Jian Fanxing quickly hung up, afraid that if she kept talking, she would slip up.
It wasn’t that she wanted to hide her relationship with her sister—it was just that she wasn’t sure if her family would accept a love so different from others. He Qing never made her feel wronged, and even He Qing’s father liked her. She wanted her own family to accept He Qing just like that too. She couldn’t bear the thought of He Qing feeling hurt.
Once she was certain of her family’s attitude, she would bring her sister home.
With that decision made, Jian Fanxing finally washed up and went to bed.
Meanwhile, across the street, He Qing had already finished washing up. She lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, unable to fall asleep.
A person who has been alone for so long, after finally having someone by their side, suddenly finds loneliness unbearable again.
Since she couldn’t sleep, He Qing got up, took a bottle of wine, and sat by the floor-to-ceiling window.
At night, the neighborhood was much quieter than during the day. For a long time, not a single person passed by. The only movement came from the insects flying around under the streetlights.
As He Qing watched the tiny insects, she actually felt a bit envious of them. At least none of them were alone—unlike her.
Well, actually, she wasn’t alone anymore. She had a girlfriend now. She had Little Star.
The only thing she wasn’t satisfied with was that she couldn’t sleep beside her.
Thinking about that, He Qing’s relaxed expression unconsciously tensed.
How could she get Little Star to agree to live with her?
She knew she was being impatient, but knowing that Xingxing was just nearby—so close that all she had to do was take a step, and she wouldn’t have to face the loneliness of the night—why should she hold back?
He Qing put down her wine glass, picked up her phone, and sent a message to Lu Feng, who had plenty of experience in relationships.
“How do I convince my girlfriend to move in with me?”
Lu Feng, fresh from a workout, saw He Qing’s message and responded instantly—without even thinking.
“Seduce her, of course.”
That was exactly how he had tricked his girlfriend into moving in.
Seduce her?
Seeing Lu Feng’s answer, He Qing paused and then asked, “How do I seduce her?”
This? Lu Feng hesitated when he saw the question. Was he really going to teach He Qing how to seduce her girlfriend?
If it worked, that would be great. But if it didn’t… would He Qing want to kill him?
To protect his own life, Lu Feng decided to take a different approach. He sent He Qing the names of a few romance dramas.
“Miss He, these dramas are all classics in romance. You can learn a thing or two from them.”
Since she couldn’t sleep anyway, He Qing didn’t reply to Lu Feng. Instead, she opened the links and started watching.
The first drama was the typical “dominant CEO” type. Seeing the CEO’s flirting techniques, He Qing frowned. Using his own attractiveness? How low-level.
But since Lu Feng said she could learn from it, she forced herself to keep watching.
As she continued, He Qing changed her mind.
The so-called “low-level” flirting actually led to… them ending up in bed?!
Expressionless, He Qing finished watching the scene and then closed the video. This method could work, but it required an opportunity—like alcohol.
And so, He Qing’s mind became preoccupied with figuring out how to convince Little Star to drink with her.
That night, He Qing had a dream.
In the dream, she and Little Star were just like in the drama. She played the role of the bad guy, luring Little Star step by step, watching her fall deeper and deeper, until she finally had her in her grasp.
The next morning, He Qing woke up, her mind still filled with last night’s dream. So much so that when Jian Fanxing knocked on her door to call her for breakfast, He Qing instinctively leaned in and kissed her.
Caught off guard, Jian Fanxing’s eyes widened. “Sister, you—”
She wanted to speak, but He Qing took the opportunity to deepen the kiss. She wasn’t satisfied with just a light touch—she wanted more.
Jian Fanxing felt something slip into her mouth, aggressively taking over. At first, she hesitated. After all, they were in the hallway. What if someone saw them?
She raised a hand to push He Qing away, but He Qing grabbed her wrist and pulled her inside.
Jian Fanxing was pressed against the wall. Only when she was about to run out of breath did He Qing finally let go.
Gasping for air, Jian Fanxing felt like she had almost died. She was probably the first person in the world to almost be kissed to death.
She looked up at He Qing, wanting to ask why she suddenly got so… intense. But seeing He Qing’s darkened eyes, slightly swollen lips, and that lingering heat in her gaze, the words got stuck in her throat.
Even though the kiss was sudden… she actually liked it, didn’t she?
And judging by how He Qing looked now, there was a good chance she would get kissed again.
As much as she wanted that, He Qing had to go to work soon… and the breakfast she made would get cold.
He Qing took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. “ Little Star, why are you here?”
“I came to call you for breakfast. Didn’t we agree to visit your company today?” That was why Jian Fanxing had gone to bed early last night—to make sure she was well-rested.
He Qing hummed lightly. “You go eat first. I’ll come after I freshen up.”
“I’ll wait for you.” Jian Fanxing obediently sat on the couch as He Qing went to the bathroom.
After He Qing finished getting ready, the two had breakfast together and then headed to He Corporation.
The company was buzzing with excitement that day. Everywhere, employees gathered in small groups, talking with enthusiasm.
“Did you hear? Our boss is dating someone!”
“What? Seriously? How come we never heard anything about this before?”
“Of course it’s true! The news came straight from Old Mr. He. Would he lie?”
“If Old Mr. He said it, then it must be real. I wonder who our boss is dating? What do they look like? Our boss is so good-looking and so capable. The person must be just as outstanding, right? I really want to see them!”
“Same! I hope Miss He brings them to the office someday.”
