My Roommate Is a Dirty Talker (GL) - Chapter 3
Â
The anticipation of the weekend’s leisure dispelled the fatigue of days of work. The roar of traffic around them seemed more urgent than usual. Shen Weixiao trailed behind Shi Xuan, aimlessly looking around. She couldn’t resist pulling out her phone to check it a few times, then immediately thought, Will walking while using my phone give the goddess a bad impression? She glanced at the screen, saw no new messages, and quickly put it away.
Â
Shen Weixiao had initially assumed Shi Xuan had asked her out to confide in her about some troubles. But after walking for quite a while, she realized the goddess showed no intention of having a hearttoheart conversation. Instead, Shi Xuan kept wandering around aimlessly, with no clear destination in mind. Thinking of her own little angel waiting to be fed, Shen Weixiao mustered her courage and smiled, I feel like we’ve walked quite far already. Should we head back soon? She tentatively called out, immediately stopping by the roadside, waiting with a smile for Shi Xuan’s reply.
Â
Shi Xuan’s embarrassment was palpable. Her fingers twisted nervously for a moment before she suddenly seemed to make up her mind. Frowning slightly, she slowly admitted, I want to go back too, but… I’ve lost my way.
Â
Shen Weixiao felt like a flock of crows had descended upon her, the sound of countless slaps echoing in her ears. She couldn’t help but laugh and cry at the same time. Goddess, are you really this directionally challenged? If you’re lost, just say so! Why drag me down with you? She prided herself on being a master navigator, recalling how she had once navigated a strange city alone with a heavy suitcase, relying solely on a map to explore its bustling food streets.
Â
Shi Xuan shrugged, offering her signature apologetic smile. Lead me home, then.
Â
Fine, Shen Weixiao thought, relenting due to Shi Xuan’s striking beauty. She reluctantly opened her map, studied the route, and pulled Shi Xuan across the street. After a series of twists and turns, they found themselves back on the original street. Across from the residential complex, a newly opened mala tang restaurant caught Shen Weixiao’s eye. The place looked welldecorated, and she swallowed hard, glancing at Shi Xuan. We should try this sometime. I love mala tang.
Â
Shi Xuan nodded, her lips curving into a perfect smile. I like it too, but I don’t like sesame paste.
Â
Huh? The goddess likes mala tang too?
Â
I remember when I was in college, my roommates and I would often rush to the street food stalls outside the campus gates after class for spicy hot pot, Shi Xuan recalled wistfully. There was this fried chicken skewer stall near the east gate that was especially delicious—we could never get enough. But after graduation, I never had the chance to eat it again. She added, These kinds of snacks are more fun to eat with a group. When I’m alone, I don’t really have much of an appetite.
Â
Shen Weixiao nodded in agreement and seized the opportunity to ask Shi Xuan more about her college days. She learned that Shi Xuan was only two years older and had graduated from a prestigious media university in the city. As they walked upstairs, the topic of getting lost came up. Shen Weixiao teased, You could just use a map when you’re lost, you know? I used to think having a map on my phone was pointless, but after moving to a new city for work, I realized how essential it is.
Â
Shi Xuan chuckled. I didn’t even bring my phone with me.
Â
Someone actually goes out without their phone? Shen Weixiao thought in disbelief as she fumbled for her keys. She suddenly turned back to ask, Wait… you didn’t forget your keys too, did you?
Â
Shi Xuan nodded. Shen Weixiao entered the apartment with a blank expression, while Shi Xuan looked at her with a hint of smugness and said, I saw you had your phone, keys, a charger, a bus pass—everything. So I didn’t bother bringing anything.
Â
Wow, the goddess is so carefree.
Â
Shen Weixiao blankly pulled out a jumble of items from her oversized pocket. True to Shi Xuan’s words, she had her earphones and cash with her. It was a habit born from her deepseated insecurity whenever she left the house, she instinctively carried everything she might possibly need, just in case.
Â
But Shen Weixiao suddenly realized how observant Shi Xuan was, knowing exactly what she had brought and taken.
Â
As she pondered this, the curtain behind her rustled. She instinctively turned to see Shi Xuan approaching, now wearing a thighlength white nightgown, her hair loosely tied atop her head, radiating a fresh and adorable charm. You change first, Shi Xuan said. I’ll go take a shower.
Â
Okay! Shen Weixiao replied cheerfully, only then realizing that starting tonight, she would be sharing this room with someone else. Her solitary days were over. But… Shen Weixiao touched her cheek, feeling a little embarrassed. This was the first time she’d ever shared a room with a girl she didn’t know well.
Â
The two blankets on the large double bed were surprisingly wellmatched in color. Opening the wardrobe, Shen Weixiao found that Shi Xuan had already neatly hung her clothes inside. The left side was for hanging clothes, while the right side had two large drawers Shi Xuan had reserved the bottom one for herself. After grabbing her pajamas, Shen Weixiao quickly changed. Even though they were both girls, the thought of being seen undressed still made her blush. Heh heh heh.
Â
The bathroom light cast a warm, golden glow through the curtain onto the door. Shen Weixiao stretched lazily, suddenly remembering she couldn’t brush her teeth or wash her face until Shi Xuan finished. She returned to her room, opened her suitcase, set up her laptop on the desk, and secured it with a laptop lock. After checking the WiFi name and password in the group chat, she pressed the power button.
Â
Ah! Finally, I can get some serious writing done. Shen Weixiao habitually opened WeChat and started teasing her CP, whom she had recently renamed Wuli Lao Xue. Speaking of her CP’s real name, Shen Weixiao still didn’t know it. It was honestly embarrassing—they’d known each other for nearly three years. Her CP knew everything about her her birthday, family members, even her menstrual cycle. Yet Shen Weixiao only knew her circle name was Lao Xue, that she was female, and… well, that was about it.
Â
Shen Weixiao continued typing, but still received no response. No response +1. No response +2…
Â
Me Wife, where have you vanished to lately…?
Â
Me Work’s been crazy busy since I started. How’s your documentary filming going?
Â
Me Mwah! Has the empress banished her emperor to the cold palace?! Dramatic gaspElkan hand gesture
Â
Me Fine, I’ll go find my little boyfriend then… waves Look at my flirty little tail! Come tug it! Winks flirtatiously
Â
Me You’re really ignoring me now? Waaah
Â
Shen Weixiao realized that her CP wouldn’t wake up no matter how much she whined, acted cute, cried, or even threatened to hang herself. She knew her CP was genuinely busy, so she resolutely shifted her focus to the group chat. But the moment she joined, the group’s unserious members immediately started demanding she strip and serve them in bed, scaring Shen Weixiao into hastily retreating and obediently opening her document. To her surprise, she discovered she had cleverly saved three extra chapters last time that hadn’t been published yet, perfectly resolving her immediate crisis. She quickly proofread them, uploaded them to her drafts, and declared her mission accomplished.
Â
So, you’re a writer on this website?
Â
Shen Weixiao jumped at the sudden voice behind her, instinctively slamming her laptop shut and whirling around to stare at Shi Xuan as if she’d seen a ghost. Shi Xuan was casually drying her hair, oblivious to the water droplets gathering at her hair tips and slowly sliding down her neck to her pale chin. Snapping out of her daze, Shen Weixiao realized Shi Xuan had already seen her author page, and her ears flushed crimson.
Â
I really enjoy reading the stories on this website, Shi Xuan said with a natural, pure smile, her long lashes casting thick shadows.
