My Sister-In-Law Has Impure Intentions (GL) - Chapter 1
In the solemn and respectful cemetery, a woman dressed in a black gown with a black suit jacket knelt before a tombstone. Her long hair was pinned back, with a few strands falling from the side. She wore exquisite makeup, but it couldn’t quite hide her weary face. Her head rested against the tombstone as she wept sorrowfully. Behind her, a bodyguard in a black suit gently supported her shoulders, his face reflecting a touch of pity.
“Madam, you haven’t slept in a long time. It’s about to rain; let’s go back, shall we?” the man said, his voice a little hoarse. It had been almost five days since his boss passed away, and he hadn’t rested much. He would only have time to rest after taking his madam home.
Xu Jingyi’s shoulders convulsed, and tears streamed uncontrollably from her eyes. “Ah Wu, why do you think this happened? Who would want to harm Ruofeng?”
“Sister-in-law, Ah Wu is right. Since brother’s fall, you’ve barely closed your eyes. Your body won’t be able to handle it. Let’s go back.”
Standing directly in front of the tombstone was a woman in a black pantsuit. From her expression, a hint of sadness could be subtly discerned, though it wasn’t pronounced.
Upon hearing this, Xu Jingyi lifted her head to look at the woman who had just spoken, her face stained with tears. “Ruoyan, your brother and I have been together for so long. Now that he’s suddenly gone, I want… to spend more time with him. You just returned from abroad, exhausted from the journey; you should go back and adjust to the time difference.”
Lin Ruoyan glanced at Xu Jingyi. “Sister-in-law, it’s raining, and the weather is getting cold. My brother wouldn’t want you to catch a cold out here. Let’s go back.”
As she spoke, she stepped forward, gently moved the bodyguard’s hand, and put her arms around Xu Jingyi’s shoulders. Her tone was caring, yet with an almost imperceptible stiffness. “Let’s go. We can come back in a few days.”
Only then did Xu Jingyi stand up. Her knees, numb from kneeling, and aching, struggled to support her weight, and she nearly stumbled again as she rose. Fortunately, Lin Ruoyan reacted quickly, her hands sliding down from Xu Jingyi’s shoulders to her waist, preventing her from falling.
Lin Ruoyan’s action was an unconscious reflex to prevent a fall. It wasn’t until they were steady that she realized her hands were tightly wrapped around her sister-in-law’s waist.
The posture was a bit awkward. They stood facing each other; in her haste, Lin Ruoyan hadn’t been gentle with her hands, and Xu Jingyi was practically cradled in her arms.
The beauty’s waist looked slender, but it felt soft to the touch. The fitted dress was thin, and before Lin Ruoyan’s mind could fully process it, she instinctively rubbed it twice due to the soft and comfortable sensation.
“Cough…” Xu Jingyi flinched at the movement of Lin Ruoyan’s hands. She coughed, a little unnaturally, and said, “Ruoyan, you can let go now.”
She had recovered her composure before Lin Ruoyan. She clearly felt the two rubs on her waist, but when she saw Lin Ruoyan’s somewhat bewildered expression, it was clear it was an unconscious act. Even if she felt a little presumptuous, she couldn’t get angry.
“Cough, cough…” Lin Ruoyan’s normally expressionless face now showed a hint of embarrassment as she realized what had happened. She quickly withdrew her hands, trying her best to remain calm. “Sister-in-law, are you alright?”
“I’m fine.” After that unexpected incident, Xu Jingyi’s expression, though still sorrowful, finally stopped shedding tears. They were standing too close, so Xu Jingyi took a step back.
“Then let’s go. You should get some good rest when we get back,” Lin Ruoyan said, ignoring Xu Jingyi’s movement, and reached out to support Xu Jingyi’s arm. “Sister-in-law, if your legs are uncomfortable, we can walk slower. I’ll help you.”
“Mmm, thank you.” Xu Jingyi didn’t say anything more and, following Lin Ruoyan’s pace, left the cemetery, looking back three times as she went.
The bodyguard witnessed the scene and thought to himself that the sisters-in-law seemed to have a good relationship. Then, with a dignified expression, he followed them out.
Leaving the cemetery, just as expected, a fine drizzle began to fall. Xu Jingyi looked up at the sky. “Ruoyan, why don’t you come back with me?”
Lin Ruoyan had only returned to the country yesterday. In the past, whenever she returned, Lin Ruofeng would always arrange a car and driver for her, so she didn’t have her own car in the country yet. “Okay, thank you, sister-in-law.”
They got into the car, sitting on either side of the back seat. Outside the car window, it was dark. As soon as Xu Jingyi got into the car, it was as if she could no longer hold on. She propped her head on one hand against the window and closed her eyes to rest.
The soundproofing of the business van was excellent, with almost no noise. The sky outside was dark and calm, perfect for resting. Lin Ruoyan also sat quietly. She had just returned from a long flight and hadn’t had time to rest, but at this moment, although her body was tired, her mind was very clear.
The police had concluded that her brother’s death was an accidental fall. Her brother had always been very careful in everything he did, and she found it hard to believe that the fall was an accident. From the fall to the police closing the case, it had only been three to five days—too hasty.
After hearing the news, she quickly dealt with her affairs abroad and rushed back, but she only managed to make it to her brother’s funeral. She was unclear about a lot of information and had no one to ask, so she could only investigate slowly later.
