After a hangover, both her body and mind felt terrible, and even when she stepped out, she didn’t want to work. She thought about it and decided to go to the beauty salon; she had worked enough lately and deserved a break.

“Sister-in-law, you’re back?” Lin Ruoyan greeted her upon her return, her attitude neither warm nor cold.

Xu Jingyi took off her high heels and changed into comfortable house slippers. While hesitating whether to go over and sit for a bit, she replied with an “mm” and then continued, “Ruoyan hasn’t gone to sleep yet?”

Lin Ruoyan: “Hmm, I’m just watching the news, about to sleep.”

“Mm.”

The atmosphere was a bit awkward, but Xu Jingyi still decided not to go over and went straight upstairs to her room. It was about time to wash up and go to bed. “You watch it, I’ll head back to my room first.”

Xu Jingyi’s expression remained unchanged, but her heart was in turmoil: “Thank you for the reminder, Ruoyan. I’ll remember it next time.”

“That’s good.” She always speaks very slowly, taking two or three seconds to continue from where she left off: “And I hope you don’t misunderstand, sister-in-law. What I said wasn’t meant to control you, but I just think it’s dangerous to drink too much outside, so it’s better to drink less.”

“I know.”

The other party’s tone was sincere, and after saying this, there was nothing more to say. She added dryly, “Sister-in-law, get some rest early.”

“Yeah, you too.”

Xu Jingyi went up first, and Lin Ruoyan quickly followed, turning off the TV before heading upstairs.

The news hadn’t even finished broadcasting, and Xu Jingyi already had an idea in her mind about why she was still downstairs watching TV so late.

Isn’t she just waiting for her? Just to say these words to her? Is it to apologize or to say those later words? Or is the apology just a pretext for saying those later words?

They would think you’re pretending to be drunk and deliberately seducing them, and a man might not necessarily resist such seduction.
