Afraid of being seen outside, Lin Ruoyan still couldn’t walk normally after leaving the building. She remained draped over Xu Jingyi, and to make the act more convincing, her head was lowered on Xu Jingyi’s shoulder, directly facing the deep, alluring cleavage. It quivered with their every step. Just by looking at it, Lin Ruoyan knew how soft and springy it felt. Her throat felt slightly dry and itchy, and she couldn’t help but swallow, a subtle movement that Xu Jingyi didn’t notice.

Lin Ruoyan’s eyes only moved away from Xu Jingyi’s chest once they were in the car, even though she should have avoided looking in the first place.

Xu Jingyi was completely oblivious to all this. She was breathing slightly heavily from carrying some of Lin Ruoyan’s weight. The light in the car was dim, but she had still noticed that Lin Ruoyan’s ears were flushed when they first got in.

Once in the car, there was no need to keep up the act. They sat on opposite sides, not a word spoken between them. One had her eyes closed, the other was staring at her phone.

Xu Jingyi’s eyes were closed, but her mind was active. Lin Ruoyan’s face usually showed little emotion, making it difficult to read her feelings. But this wasn’t the first or second time she had seen Lin Ruoyan’s ears turn red. She had a faint, unsettling feeling that Lin Ruoyan’s ears turned red every time they had close contact. She carefully reviewed the last few times and decided to test her theory when they got out of the car.

The roads weren’t congested at night, and they soon arrived home. Lin Ruoyan opened the door and got out, walking steadily. But she had already walked around to the other side of the car and still hadn’t seen Xu Jingyi get out.

She stopped and, pretending to be dazed, slowly walked a few more steps, but Xu Jingyi still showed no intention of getting out. Instead, the driver, Uncle Liu, got out and came over to Xu Jingyi’s side.

“Miss, Madam seems to be drunk.” The previous incident was still fresh in his mind. He would not dare to help Madam into the house in front of Miss Lin.

Lin Ruoyan frowned. She had been able to help her out just moments ago, so how could she be passed out so quickly? Despite her doubts, Lin Ruoyan walked back to the car. She looked through the open door and saw Xu Jingyi still leaning against the seat, showing no signs of getting up.

“Sister-in-law,” Lin Ruoyan called, shaking Xu Jingyi’s shoulder.

Xu Jingyi ignored her.

She called out a few more times, but Xu Jingyi still didn’t react. Lin Ruoyan looked at Uncle Liu, then resigned herself and bent down to help Xu Jingyi up. She would take it as a thank you for tonight’s project. Xu Jingyi probably drank a lot for it.

She wrapped her arms around Xu Jingyi, who, in turn, leaned into her, her cheek naturally resting on Lin Ruoyan’s neck. The moment their skin touched, Xu Jingyi distinctly felt Lin Ruoyan’s body stiffen, but it quickly subsided. At the same time, Lin Ruoyan slightly pulled her body away.

The strange feeling became more pronounced. The previous position was the most effortless one. Although Xu Jingyi was thin, she was still tall. When she had feigned drunkenness and Lin Ruoyan helped her out, Lin Ruoyan had held her tightly, and even that was a little tiring. Yet, now, she had chosen this more strenuous position.

This string of events led to an absurd thought in Xu Jingyi’s mind. Her heart felt as if it had been hammered—dull and heavy, contracting sharply with a piercing pain. She tried her best to calm down, convincing herself that she might simply be overthinking things. Given their relationship, Lin Ruoyan shouldn’t have any improper thoughts about her. It was probably just that she wasn’t used to physical intimacy or was just overly shy.

As she was helped upstairs in a twisted position, Xu Jingyi seized the opportunity the moment she was laid down on the bed, pinning Lin Ruoyan beneath her to confirm her suspicions.

For Lin Ruoyan, however, it was a sudden replay of a previous scene. The memory of Xu Jingyi, drunk, mistaking her for her brother and making advances, was suddenly triggered. Her breathing became rapid, and those private words seemed to echo in her ears.

She held her breath and suddenly shoved Xu Jingyi off her. The movement was so quick that Xu Jingyi had no time to react, practically flying off the bed.

Xu Jingyi’s planned test was cut short. As she wondered what to do next, Lin Ruoyan didn’t immediately leave. Instead, she reached for the blanket on the bed. The temperature was pleasant during the day, but it was getting cold at night. Xu Jingyi was still wearing a dress, and Lin Ruoyan was concerned she would catch a cold, so she intended to cover her with the blanket before leaving.

But as soon as she placed the blanket over Xu Jingyi, Xu Jingyi waved it away, mumbling that she was hot.

Lin Ruoyan: …………………… Your sleeping posture is a mess.

After a few struggles, Xu Jingyi’s dress became even more disheveled. More skin was exposed on her chest, and even the tips of her br3asts were faintly visible.

She had always thought she wasn’t particularly lustful, but when faced with Xu Jingyi, she realized how ridiculous her previous thoughts were. Xu Jingyi hadn’t done anything. Her normal clothing and their normal interactions as sisters-in-law were enough to make Lin Ruoyan fall into her thoughts. If it weren’t for their argument that night, she would probably still be coming home to have dinner with Xu Jingyi every day, spending the evenings with her. All the while, having inappropriate thoughts in unguarded moments.

But even with their relationship at this point, she couldn’t control her own mind. For instance, tonight, she couldn’t stop looking at Xu Jingyi. She couldn’t stand the way those men looked at her, so she feigned drunkenness to leave early. And even now, she was pretending to be a gentleman, quickly getting up, but when Xu Jingyi couldn’t see, she couldn’t tear her eyes away, coveting that beauty.

I have the same dirty thoughts as those men. How am I any better?

Xu Jingyi seemed very uncomfortable, pulling at her clothes restlessly and rolling around in bed. Unaware that she was at the edge, she rolled over and fell off. Lin Ruoyan’s body reacted faster than her mind; she bent down to help catch her just as she was about to fall.

Xu Jingyi had planned it perfectly. She wouldn’t let Lin Ruoyan catch her. Her body fell heavily, and they tumbled to the floor in a heap. Her lips landed squarely on Lin Ruoyan’s ear.

Lin Ruoyan’s cold ear quickly became hot, and Xu Jingyi’s heart sank heavily.
