My Sister-In-Law Has Impure Intentions (GL) - Chapter 27
Ignoring what was happening behind them, Xu Jingyi was baffled by being pulled away. It was incredibly impolite to storm out on so many people, but she held back from speaking until they were in the car.
“What’s wrong? What happened? Did Director Li harass you?” Xu Jingyi saw the angry look on Lin Ruoyan’s face and wanted to comfort her. But she was still cautious. While her voice was full of genuine concern, her body deliberately maintained a distance.
Lin Ruoyan was too angry to notice anything amiss. Her face was turned away, and her chest was still heaving from the incident.
“Ms. Xu, I ask that you stop so blatantly scouting for so-called excellent young men who are ‘suitable’ for me. I don’t need it.” She kept her voice low, trying her best to control her tone, but she still came across as very impatient. This was the first time she had called Xu Jingyi “Ms. Xu” instead of “sister-in-law.” Even when they had argued over their differences, she had managed to call her “sister-in-law” to maintain a semblance of decency, but now she really couldn’t hold back.
“When you’re so obvious about it, what do you think people will think of me? Huh? That I’m so desperate to get married that I’m looking for a man all over the city?”
Xu Jingyi’s expression changed. “Did he do something inappropriate to you?” She had a clear idea of what Lin Ruoyan meant, and she understood that her actions had given someone the wrong impression that Lin Ruoyan was desperate to marry, causing him to make a move.
“Heh, no, what could he do to me?” she scoffed. The alcohol and anger, especially in front of Xu Jingyi, made her speak recklessly. “He’s interested in you. He came to ask me if you have any thoughts of remarrying and if you would consider him.”
Lin Ruoyan’s words left Xu Jingyi momentarily stunned, but at least she knew Lin Ruoyan hadn’t been harassed. She patted her chest, relieved.
Lin Ruoyan’s reaction made her even angrier. What does that mean? In front of Xu Jingyi, she was still not mature enough, and her words became unconsciously sharp. “Heh, what? Hearing that someone is interested in you makes your heart flutter?”
“Were you already planning on finding someone else?”
As soon as she said this, a slap landed on her face. Xu Jingyi looked at her with a cold expression. “Have you said enough?”
“What did I say wrong?” Lin Ruoyan defiantly stared at her. “I’ve told you so many times that I don’t want to go on blind dates, but you still won’t stop. Isn’t it just an excuse to scout for someone you like yourself?” Her voice started to tremble. “How about it? Have you found someone you like recently?”
“If you like them, and you just give them a little charm, they’re probably easy to get, aren’t they? Just like that man tonight. You didn’t even have to do anything, and he was already hooked.”
“Or maybe you prefer younger ones, which is why you’re using me as a cover.”
Xu Jingyi was so furious that she was trembling. She raised her hand again, but seeing the anger on Lin Ruoyan’s face, she lowered it.
“If that’s what you think, then I truly misjudged you.” Xu Jingyi looked at her, her voice so cold it sent a chill down her spine. “I cared for you because you are Ruofeng’s sister and I wanted you to have a good life.”
“In that case, I won’t interfere in your life anymore. You can do whatever you want.”
“As for whether I want to remarry or what kind of person I like, you don’t need to worry about it. From now on, we’ll go our separate ways, and our paths will not cross.”
After she finished speaking, she turned and got out of the car, as if she no longer wanted any connection with her.
Although Lin Ruoyan was also angry, she subconsciously grabbed Xu Jingyi’s wrist to prevent her from leaving, and the words in her mouth got stuck before she could finally say, “Let’s go home and talk.”
Xu Jingyi was too angry to listen to her. She sneered and retorted, “Home? What home? Since you think of me that way, from now on, I’m no longer your sister-in-law. I’ll pack up and move out in a few days.”
Lin Ruoyan’s heart sank at her words. She held Xu Jingyi’s wrist even tighter, stood up, and wrapped her arms around Xu Jingyi’s waist to stop her from getting out of the car.
Both were angry, and they were both using a lot of force. During the struggle, Xu Jingyi’s dress strap was torn, and one side fell down. The dress was loose, and a large part of her chest was exposed.
Xu Jingyi looked down at herself, then instinctively looked at Lin Ruoyan, who was staring intently at her chest. The air suddenly fell silent.
Xu Jingyi stopped struggling, pulled her dress up with both hands to cover her chest, and sat back down obediently. Her face was very red, whether from the alcohol or something else. Lin Ruoyan’s neck was also red. She subconsciously took off her jacket and draped it over Xu Jingyi.
Neither of them realized how strange this was. The first night, Xu Jingyi was wearing a similar outfit, and Lin Ruoyan didn’t react. Later, in the dressing room, even more private areas were exposed, but now, with just a little bit of skin showing, she was incredibly shy. This was completely illogical.
But Lin Ruoyan couldn’t think of all that right now. Her mind was blank. Her hands were clenched at her sides, and she was trying to silently control her breathing.
So white…
So soft…
She couldn’t help but look at Xu Jingyi, who had buried her face in her jacket.
“I’m sorry, sister-in-law. I didn’t mean to tear your dress,” she stammered. “Um… I’ll buy you a new one another day.”
Xu Jingyi said nothing.
“I was wrong tonight. It was that man’s problem, not yours. I shouldn’t have said those things.”
“I was just too angry. I apologize.”
“Please… don’t move out.”
