After teasing her enough, Xu Jingyi didn’t do anything else to make Lin Ruoyan blush. She ate dinner quietly, occasionally serving food to Lin Ruoyan. Lin Ruoyan had thought it was already kind enough for Xu Jingyi to bring her food and eat with her, but after dinner, she didn’t leave. Instead, she lay on the sofa, waiting for her.

The sofa was directly across from Lin Ruoyan’s desk and was large enough for Xu Jingyi. Having been tired all day, she felt uncomfortable sitting for a while, so without much thought, she took off her shoes and reclined on it. She propped her head on her right hand and lazily stretched her legs out on the sofa, scrolling on her phone.

The office temperature was comfortable. Only the soft sound of Lin Ruoyan typing on her keyboard could be heard. After a while, playing on her phone became boring, and to the rhythmic tapping of the keyboard, Xu Jingyi slowly fell asleep.

Lin Ruoyan forced herself to focus on her work, but the temptation of having Xu Jingyi in her line of sight made her look over repeatedly. She watched as Xu Jingyi went from being lazy to drowsy, and finally, to falling asleep.

She swallowed hard, and a sudden image flashed in her mind: those ankles being grabbed and lifted in a dimly lit room. Her fingers were tightly gripping her ankles, leaving her no room to escape. The heat rising in her body made her unbutton the top button of her shirt.

Daring to look no further, Lin Ruoyan stood up and hurried back to her desk as if she were fleeing, a stark contrast to her composed demeanor just moments before. Her gaze was no longer on Xu Jingyi, but the image remained in her mind. One unbuttoned button seemed insufficient. Lin Ruoyan let out a heavy sigh and unbuttoned another, her eyes fixed on the computer screen, not daring to shift even an inch.

But at that moment, the person on the sofa turned over, her back now facing Lin Ruoyan. In the quiet space, only Lin Ruoyan’s breathing could be heard, so the sound of Xu Jingyi turning over was abrupt. Lin Ruoyan, who was trying to focus on her work to shake off the image in her mind, was startled by the sudden noise and couldn’t help but look over.

The blanket draped over her waist wasn’t very big. When she turned, it was rolled to the front, leaving her entire back exposed. Although she was wearing clothes, there was a more captivating beauty that stirred the heart, and the faint visibility made the image more impactful. The deep V-neck revealed a large part of her back, and years of fitness gave her a slender waist and shapely hips. Her current posture showcased these assets perfectly. Her narrow waist and firm hips were a silent seduction in Lin Ruoyan’s eyes.

And the knowledge that Xu Jingyi wouldn’t notice her staring made her even bolder. She examined every inch of Xu Jingyi’s body, etching it into her mind. The scenes in her head became more and more explicit.

While she was looking at Xu Jingyi’s body, Xu Jingyi was on the other side, mentally biting her fingers to the bone. Xu Jingyi hadn’t been in a deep sleep. She had only closed her eyes and was dozing. She felt it when Lin Ruoyan covered her with the blanket. She had thought Lin Ruoyan was just covering her up, and to escape reality, she had to pretend to be asleep. But she hadn’t expected Lin Ruoyan to squat in front of her and look at her. Even with her eyes closed, she could feel the heat of Lin Ruoyan’s gaze, which made her body feel like it was burning.

The thought that Lin Ruoyan was secretly lusting after her sent a jolt through her, and she couldn’t stay calm. So, as soon as she felt Lin Ruoyan leave, she turned her body, facing away from her. She had only thought of avoiding her gaze and hadn’t considered the consequences of turning over. Only after her breathing became heavier did she realize that her idea was probably not a good one.

The air in the office seemed to grow hotter and more stifling. Xu Jingyi also felt her body heating up, but she was still “asleep,” so she couldn’t even try to cool down. She could only suffer in this suffocating heat. The person behind her wasn’t making any other movements, except for her breathing. If it were daytime, she might not even have heard that. But now, it was night. The quiet, empty city had fallen silent, and it felt as if they were the only two people left in the world. Even the slightest sound was magnified infinitely. And to make matters worse, they were alone in a room late at night, both with their own dark thoughts. The slightest change led to boundless imagination.

She didn’t know what Lin Ruoyan was doing, or if she was still looking at her. She also didn’t know if she should “wake up” now. Or, if she did wake up, how should she face her? So, she could only endure this torment, pretending to be asleep and constantly wondering what Lin Ruoyan was thinking and what she wanted to do.
