After getting ready, Xu Jingyi was too nervous to go out. She was afraid she would run into Lin Ruoyan and not know what to say. So, she stayed in her room until it was time to leave.

Lin Ruoyan was already waiting in the living room. Their luggage had been loaded into the car by the bodyguard. Seeing Xu Jingyi come down, she stood up to greet her. “Jing… Jingyi, let’s go.” She had just started calling her by her name, so it didn’t roll off the tongue easily. Lin Ruoyan had to open her mouth several times before the words finally came out.

Xu Jingyi was a little nervous about the trip, but seeing that Lin Ruoyan was even more flustered than she was, her nervousness immediately vanished.

“Let’s go.”

Because Xu Jingyi didn’t initiate conversation, the two didn’t talk much on the way, aside from necessary exchanges. On the plane, one of them slept while the other worked on their laptop, making them seem like strangers.

They were flying to a small European country, where it was midnight. Although they had rested on the plane and were in good spirits, they decided to go to their rooms to sleep. Just as Lin Ruoyan was getting ready for bed, there was a knock on the door. She frowned and walked to the door, asking in a low voice, “Who is it?” The security in these countries was not good, so she opened her phone as she spoke, with a shortcut to call her bodyguards.

Xu Jingyi’s voice came from outside. “It’s me.”

Lin Ruoyan’s heart skipped a beat. She quickly composed herself. Although she didn’t know why Xu Jingyi was knocking on her door so late, she opened the door for safety, not wanting to leave her outside. The moment she opened the door, her heart pounded even faster. Xu Jingyi was standing there in what Lin Ruoyan considered to be a particularly revealing nightgown. Lin Ruoyan pulled the door open wide and quickly pulled Xu Jingyi inside.

“Why are you dressed like that!”

Her voice was a little loud, and the sound of the door closing also startled Xu Jingyi. She looked down at herself and didn’t see anything wrong. “What’s wrong with what I’m wearing? Is there a problem?”

“You…” The word got stuck in Lin Ruoyan’s throat, and she couldn’t say anything.

“I wear this at home, too,” Xu Jingyi added.

“Home is home. How can you walk around outside dressed like this?” Lin Ruoyan said, a little flustered. “Don’t you know it’s dangerous to be dressed like that out here?”

“I wasn’t outside,” Xu Jingyi said calmly, looking at her. She was a little amused by Lin Ruoyan’s worried expression. “And…” she leaned forward a little, “What’s wrong with me wearing this?”

“Is it dangerous for me to come to you dressed like this?”

Lin Ruoyan shrank back, avoiding the nonexistent “threat.” It’s dangerous for you to come to me dressed like this too, she thought to herself, but she bit her tongue and said, “It’s nothing. Why are you here?”

“It’s clearly something.” Xu Jingyi persisted. She didn’t want to miss this opportunity, so she followed her, determined to get a response. “Don’t I look good in this?”

The question made it impossible for Lin Ruoyan to avoid. She lowered her eyes and said reluctantly, “You look good.”

“There you have it.” Xu Jingyi got the answer she wanted. After seeing Lin Ruoyan’s ears turn slightly red, she took a couple of steps back, walked towards the bed, and said, “I’m sleeping here tonight.”

“Huh?” The information reached her ears and was transmitted to her brain, but her brain couldn’t process it in such a short time. She let out a “huh?” again and then asked, “What do you mean?”

“It means I’m sleeping with you,” she said, sitting on the bed as if she didn’t care whether Lin Ruoyan agreed or not. “What’s with the ‘huh’? We’re both women, and we’re traveling together. What’s wrong with sleeping together?”

Lin Ruoyan couldn’t possibly agree. “No. Go sleep in your own room,” she said, her voice filled with a sense of urgency. She took a couple of steps forward and then stopped. “Why don’t you sleep in your own room?”

Xu Jingyi shook her head. “No. I’m scared to be alone.”

“You used to sleep alone,” Lin Ruoyan said, on the verge of going crazy. Xu Jingyi had already pulled back the covers and put one foot under the blanket, looking determined to stay.

“Who says?”

Lin Ruoyan: ?????

Who says?

“We live together,” Lin Ruoyan said, completely shocked.

Xu Jingyi was stunned for a moment, but she quickly recovered and said with a smile, “Oh, you mean at home.” As she spoke, she got into the bed completely. Seeing Lin Ruoyan’s increasingly anxious expression, she calmly explained, “Don’t worry, I’m clean.”

Lin Ruoyan cursed inwardly. Her face turned from black to red several times, like a beautiful palette. The phrase “I’m clean and waiting for you in bed” popped into her head, and she couldn’t help but overthink it. Especially since Xu Jingyi was wearing that kind of nightgown. It looked like it could be easily torn.

“I can sleep alone at home, but not when we’re away. I’m scared,” Xu Jingyi said, half-lying on the bed, looking lazy and comfortable. “And you also said it’s dangerous here. What if something happens to me in the middle of the night if I’m alone?”

What she said made perfect sense, and Lin Ruoyan was speechless for a moment. She stared at Xu Jingyi, wanting to speak several times, but ultimately just closed her mouth. She felt that her eloquence was completely useless in front of her.

In the end, she gave up on trying to make Xu Jingyi leave. If she wants to stay here, then so be it. I guess I’ll just sleep on the sofa.
