My Sun and Your Star (GL) - Episode 44
A handkerchief embroidered with a Labrador retriever that came to my house, and a black pen case with a picture of a black cat.
I never thought Takizawa would take an interest in my birthday or give me a present. Even now, I find myself staring at them, unable to believe it.
Since the sleepover, Takizawa hasn’t done anything weird to me. I haven’t been able to ask if he felt that distance was inappropriate or if there was some other reason.
Takizawa probably only did those kinds of things to me, and because it made me feel special, I’m a little lonely now that it’s stopped.
The black cat inside the black pen case is looking at me from the desk. I look at the yellow and pale pink handkerchiefs I keep by my pillow.
Takizawa, you seemed happy when you won that Labrador stuffed animal before—do you like them?
Takizawa was so good at embroidery! Or rather, I didn’t know he liked sewing. I really don’t know anything about the things Takizawa likes… I’m painfully realizing that even though we’ve spent a lot of time together, I really don’t know Takizawa very well.
I think I’ll ask Mai for Takizawa’s birthday tomorrow.
He might not accept it, but I want to give Takizawa something too.
The last time I wanted to give something to someone was when I thought about doing it for my father and mother. Recalling that feeling makes me nostalgic and warms my heart.
Takizawa always saves me and warms my heart. That warmth is so comforting that when I feel a distance, I suddenly feel lonely and distressed.
I want morning to come quickly. At night, I only think of bad things. Thinking that, I gripped the Labrador handkerchief and fell asleep.
