“…Huh? You want help carrying the drop items?” 

After thinking it over, Rindou stepped out of the gate and asked the guard Kyousuke for help. 

“Yes, but……. I guess it’s not possible, right?” 

Rindou had no one else to turn to but Kyousuke, so he made the request. But upon seeing his reaction, he sighed. He thought it wasn’t going to work. 

“No, it’s not a problem.” 

“Huh? I-I’m allowed to?” 

“You’re the one who asked, right?” 

“Well, yes, but… I was worried if it would be okay to stop your work.” 

When Rindou voiced his concern, Kyousuke reassured him that it was fine. 

“Even though I’m a guard, I’m not doing this alone. Besides, helping a rookie in trouble is part of the job. Just wait a moment, I’ll go ask another staff member in the break room.” 

“Ah, thank you so much!” 

Rindou bowed repeatedly, and Kyousuke smiled before leaving the area. 

A few moments later, Kyousuke returned. But this time not in his guard uniform—he was dressed as a player. 

“Kyousuke, what’s with the outfit?” 

“I may be dealing with a rookie gate, but I’m still stepping into a monster’s lair. I need to be fully prepared.” 

Rindou was impressed by Kyousuke’s thoroughness and seriousness. He thought to himself that this was what a reliable senior really looked like. 

“Well then, let’s go, Rindou-kun. Lead the way.” 

“Yes! I’ll leave it to you!” 

With that, Rindou and Kyousuke entered the gate once again.

“…Is all of this… from the drops?” 

“Yeah. I couldn’t carry it all by myself, so I was wondering what to do.”

“Kyousuke, what’s that?” 

“This is a Magic Bag. It has a different space inside, so you can store more than it looks like. It’s a rare item.” 

“Magic Bag! …….I’ve never seen one before.” 

Magic Bags are said to only drop from gates with a rating of 6 stars or higher. They are among the rarest items that players desperately want. 

To tackle higher-star gates, you need a large amount of supplies. And you often need a dedicated player just to carry the items. But having a dedicated item carrier slows down the movement speed. And if that player is killed or separated during a monster attack, you could quickly run out of supplies. 

If you have even one Magic Bag, it becomes possible to challenge a gate with experienced members. By entrusting the bag to a capable person, it minimizes the chances of it being lost. 

“I was just lucky. During a 6-star gate raid, I happened to encounter a rare monster and was able to defeat it.” 

“Could it have been a Treasure Goblin?” 

“That’s right. In my party, we rotated who would collect the drops. And that time, I was the one who got the loot.” 

Rindou had heard that drop distribution often led to arguments in parties. So he was impressed that Kyousuke’s party had such clear rules, even with rare items. 

“Now that you’re an Association employee, did you ever have any issues when you left the party?” 

“I did ask if I should give up the Magic Bag. But they refused. They were saying, ‘It’s yours, we don’t want it!’ and wouldn’t take it.” 

“…Sounds like you had a great party.” 

“Really. If I hadn’t been injured, I would’ve stayed with that party for a long time.” 

Kyousuke said this with a faint smile and scratched his head. 

“Heh, sorry about that. I got a little carried away talking about myself.” 

“No, it’s a valuable story.” 

“I’m glad to hear that. Now, let’s start putting these drop items in the Magic Bag.” 

“Yes!” 

“Wait, before that…… Rindou-kun, make sure to be careful in situations like this.”

Just as Rindou was about to ask for help with the items, Kyousuke suddenly warned him. 

“Huh? What about?” 

“Magic Bags can be set so that only the owner and those with permission can take things out of it.” 

“Looks like that’s the case.” 

“……..Rindou-kun? There’s a possibility I could steal your drop items, you know?” 

“….Ah, I see.”

Kyousuke shrugged lightly and said this. It caused Rindou to laugh as he handed over the drop items.

Kyousuke received the drop items from Rindou and placed them into the Magic Bag. After glancing at the large pile of items, he smiled and nodded. 

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen a rookie with this much skill. If I need help, I’ll definitely reach out to you. So please help me when that time comes.” 

“Of course!” 

The two of them continued putting the drop items into the Magic Bag. It took them over 30 minutes to finish packing everything.
