My Unique Skill [Gacha] Will Save the World - Episode 37: Sharing for the First Time
Episode 37: Sharing for the First Time
“So, um… I’d like you to keep my skill a secret,”
Rindou said, watching the stunned Kyousuke.
“Huh? Oh, uh, yeah, you’re right. Honestly, your [Gacha] skill is just too extraordinary. I agree; it’s better to keep it under wraps.”
Kyousuke nodded in agreement. He promised to keep the nature of Rindou’s [Gacha] skill confidential.
“Still, it was fortunate that you also received [Basic Swordsmanship] alongside the [Gacha] skill. Without that, you’d have had to explain it during player registration—”
“Actually, that’s not the case.”
“What do you mean? Don’t tell me you don’t actually have [Basic Swordsmanship]?”
“Technically speaking, I didn’t have it at first,”
Rindou clarified. It left Kyousuke tilting his head in confusion.
“The thing is, the [Gacha] skill doesn’t just grant items.”
“Not just items? Wait, are you saying…”
Kyousuke gestured with an imaginary sword. He was asking if the skill also granted [Basic Swordsmanship].
“Exactly. I got [Basic Swordsmanship] through the [Gacha] skill.”
“Wait, seriously? Is something like that even possible?”
“It seems it is,”
Rindou replied casually. It prompted Kyousuke to fold his arms and ponder.
In general, players only have one skill. And possessing more than one is considered extremely rare. Kyousuke had never heard of someone gaining additional skills later.
“You’re not telling me you can gain unlimited skills, are you?”
“Currently, I can only have up to three besides the [Gacha] skill. Right now, I have [Intermediate Swordsmanship], [Resonance], and [Basic Earth Magic].”
“Hold on! Wait a second! Did you just casually reveal something shocking? Did you say [Intermediate Swordsmanship]? And what’s this [Resonance] skill? Plus magic?!”
Kyousuke’s confusion deepened as more surprising details emerged.
“It seems my skills have a proficiency system. When proficiency reaches 100%, the skill evolves into a superior version.”
“So that’s how [Basic Swordsmanship] evolved into [Intermediate Swordsmanship]?”
“Exactly.”
As Kyousuke came to terms with [Intermediate Swordsmanship], Rindou began explaining [Resonance].
“And what’s this [Resonance] skill?”
“I got it from the [Gacha] after defeating a Soldier Ant. It boosts physical abilities when another player is fighting within a 10-meter radius. But since I mostly play solo, it’s not particularly useful for me.”
Hearing this, Kyousuke pressed his fingers to his temple.
“……..…Isn’t that an incredibly valuable skill if you form a party?”
“Yeah, but I don’t want to spread word about my [Gacha] skill. So I’m stuck playing solo.”
“…Well, compared to [Resonance], the [Gacha] skill is definitely more versatile,”
Kyousuke admitted after some thought.
Indeed, the potential of obtaining new skills or a plethora of loot through the [Gacha] skill was hard to overlook.
“As for [Basic Earth Magic]………….. Never mind. Magic is magic; I won’t ask any further.”
Whether to avoid confusing himself further or because he already had some knowledge of [Earth Magic], Kyousuke decided not to inquire about it.
“So, in this case, since I’m here, doesn’t that mean your physical abilities are slightly boosted?”
“Ah! That’s why my body felt more responsive compared to yesterday!”
“……….You’re only realizing the effects of [Resonance] now?”
“Well, I usually play solo, so I didn’t pay much attention,”
Rindou said, scratching his head.
“But you don’t necessarily need to form a party for it, right?”
“What do you mean?”
“As long as another player is fighting within a 10-meter radius, the skill activates, right?”
“Probably.”
“In that case, the stampede is where players gather in large numbers, right? During events like that, the effect would activate even without forming a party. That would boost your physical abilities, wouldn’t it?”
Hearing Kyousuke’s speculation, Rindou was struck by a realization.
He had been too focused on solo efforts to conquer dungeon gates. He hadn’t even considered the possibility of facing monsters in the real world, like during the recent stampede.
If the [Resonance] skill worked as Kyousuke suggested, it could become a significant asset for Rindou.
“Well, it’s best if a stampede never happens in the first place.”
“True.”
A stampede indicated that players had failed in their mission. It meant some players had already fallen. Moreover, there was potential for large numbers of civilians becoming casualties. It made sense that Rindou hoped that a situation where [Resonance] was useful would never arise.
“If I acquire a new skill in the future, I might have to replace [Resonance].”
“As someone who used to party up with others, that feels like a waste. But I suppose you don’t have much choice.”
With that, Kyousuke began collecting items scattered on the ground. He placed them into his Magic Bag before continuing deeper into the area alongside Rindou.
