The moment Rindou confirmed the message on the window, a torrent of drop items spilled forth from the magic circle.  

“What is that? I don’t know that!”  

Gergale’s smug demeanor instantly shifted to one of surprise. Its voice was trembling with shock.  

“Kageboshi! Use this!”  

Spotting an Intermediate Potion among the dropped items, Rindou grabbed it and hurled it toward Kageboshi.  

Extending her arm, Kageboshi caught the potion. She immediately opened it, and poured its contents over her head.  

“…You’ve saved me, Rindou Amachi.”  

As brilliant light radiated from her entire body, her wounds closed instantly. It allowed her to stand once more.  

“Grrrr… Kill them! Kill the woman too! Kill the man as well!”  

With a ferocious glare directed at Rindou and Kageboshi, Gergale barked its orders. It prompted the hesitant Kobolds to spring back into action.  

By this time, however, the results of Rindou’s skill [Gacha] were already manifesting. Taking a deep breath, he swung his Gale Blade with precision.  

——Slash!  

“――!?”  

The Kobolds stood no chance against Rindou’s blade. Even when surrounded, as long as the battle didn’t drag on, he had no problem handling them.  

However, the sharpness of this particular strike was on an entirely different level. Even Gergale, watching from a distance, widened its eyes in disbelief.  

“…Evolution complete.”  

The aura surrounding Rindou was noticeably different from when he first entered the star-5 gate. Kageboshi was startled by this transformation. She also felt a glimmer of hope—perhaps they could make it out of this alive.

With renewed resolve, Kageboshi unleashed her trump card.

From her own shadow, two jet-black figures emerged. Their contours were shifting to mimic Kageboshi’s form perfectly.  

“Rindou Amachi. I’ll handle the small fry. You focus on taking down their leader, Gergale.”  

“Are you sure you’re okay with me taking all the glory?”  

“I’m someone who doesn’t exist. I have no need for glory or recognition.”  

Their exchange, though lighthearted, reflected a newfound confidence.  

Meanwhile, the once-dominant Gergale was trembling with fury. It finally rose from its position, its rage reaching its peak.  

“I will kill you! I will kill you myself!”  

“Now we’re getting serious. Let’s do this, Gergale!”  

Rindou and Gergale locked eyes. They charged toward each other simultaneously.  

The surrounding Kobolds attempted to intervene, but Kageboshi and her shadow clones blocked their path.  

“You won’t get in his way!”  

While not as strong as Kageboshi herself, the clones were more than sufficient to hold their own against the Kobolds.  

“I can only maintain this for a short time, Rindou Amachi!”  

“Got it!”  

[Shadow Clone] was a high-cost spell that drained an immense amount of mana. Even at her peak, Kageboshi could sustain it for no more than five minutes. And potentially even less depending on the intensity of the battle.  

Moreover, both Rindou and Kageboshi had lost a significant amount of bl00d. While the potions had healed their wounds, they couldn’t replenish their depleted bl00d.

With Kageboshi clearing the path, Rindou had a direct route to Gergale.  

The same was true for Gergale. It clashed its claws together menacingly before launching a massive strike.

“Take this!!”  

Their strongest attacks collided.

“Wha—!? Impossible! This can’t be happening!”  

For the first time, Gergale’s claws, which had never been broken in battle, cracked under the impact and shattered.  

Staggered by the unexpected result, Gergale took an involuntary step back. Its face was a mix of shock and fear.

Seeing Gergale falter, Rindou grinned and stepped forward, closing the distance.  

“I-I’m not retreating! I will never run away!”  

Despite its words, the fear imprinted on Gergale’s mind couldn’t be erased.  

The Rindou standing before it exuded an entirely different presence from their first encounter. And Gergale was completely overwhelmed.

Though Rindou had gained the upper hand, he recognized the durability of his opponent.  

Yet he also knew that easing up now might allow Gergale to shake off its fear and regain its composure.

Tightening his grip on the Gale Blade, Rindou stepped forward again. He was ready to end the fight.
