My Unique Skill [Gacha] Will Save the World - Episode 86: Lies or Truth
Episode 86: Lies or Truth
(Note: Special for this chapter, dialogues through speaker, faraway voice, or telephone are in ‘……’.)
‘…No way, this can’t be.’
A murmur from the announcer reached the Colosseum. From the stands, there were sobs. And voices mourning Ignacio’s death could be heard. However, for Rindou and the others, this was a life-and-death battle. There was no room for hesitation.
Though the potions had healed their wounds, they couldn’t restore the mental fatigue they had endured. It was clear that the battle had been a desperate one. Rindou, along with Ignacio, probably believed that only through one side’s death could the fight be decided.
“…We won, right?”
“…Yeah, probably.”
Since Ignacio had died while still standing, Ayane and Kyousuke were still cautious. They were unsure if he was truly dead or if he was just pretending to be.
[This is your first special reward for defeating a king in another world. You gain the defeated king’s skill.]
Meanwhile, Rindou realized Ignacio’s death through the activation of the [Gacha] skill.
[You have acquired Ignacio’s skill: [Magic Sword].]
Rindou thought that acquiring the skill would trigger some sort of decision-making process—an ability selection, perhaps—but instead, something else happened.
[The level of [Gacha] has increased to 2. You can now acquire four skills.]
As Rindou had defeated Ignacio, the level of [Gacha] increased. And now he could gain four skills.
“…Seriously?”
With this, Rindou was able to directly acquire the [Magic Sword] skill. He let out a sigh of relief.
“Don’t worry, both of you. Ignacio is definitely dead.”
Rindou confirmed Ignacio’s death to Ayane and Kyousuke.
“…We did it! We won!”
“…Haha, we really did win!”
After a short pause, Ayane and Kyousuke cheered in joy and high-fived each other. If Ignacio had been the boss monster, destroying the core of this world would have completed the conquest. However, the atmosphere in the Colosseum was filled with murderous intent. Which prevented that from happening.
“Kill them! These trash who killed the king, don’t let them live!”
“We’ll kill them!”
“What’s the Colosseum to us! Kill them! Kill them! KILL THEM!!!”
Shouts echoed from all directions, and the entire Colosseum trembled. If they were attacked by the massive number of Elves filling the stands, Rindou and the others would be done for.
“Calm down!!”
Then, a voice louder than the angry shouts of the crowd rang through the Colosseum. And it immediately fell into silence.
“…That’s a big voice.”
The source of the voice appeared from a passage where the opposing team’s representative had emerged. The Elf standing there was over two meters tall. The aura of power radiating from him was on par with, if not greater than, Ignacio’s.
Rindou and the others thought they would be easily overwhelmed if they had to fight now.
“We’ve lost, people of another world,”
However, the giant Elf sent a glance toward Rindou and the others before immediately acknowledging defeat.
Rindou and the others were taken aback. They were unsure whether this was sincere or a trap meant to lull them into a false sense of security.
“…Well, you probably won’t believe it so easily. But a loss is a loss. We cannot go against what His Majesty declared.”
The giant Elf spoke with a sigh.
‘Y-you can defeat them! You must defeat these trash, please, Eldoran-sama! Strike them down with the hammer of death—’
“Are you defying His Majesty’s words?!”
‘Eek!? N-no, that’s not…!’
The announcer was now quieted by Eldoran’s fury. He denied the statement in a small voice.
“…Sigh, I apologize.”
“Don’t apologize; there’s no need.”
“…At the end of this passage, there’s our country’s treasure vault. Take one item each from there.”
Eldoran said with a sigh. He stepped aside to reveal the passage.
“Treasure vault? Items? …Isn’t there supposed to be the core of this world?”
Rindou muttered, and Kyousuke stepped in to explain.
“In the case of the Colosseum, we usually just get rare items from the treasure vault to finish things up.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah. I think that in this world, a proper ecosystem has formed. And just like our world, there isn’t really a core here.”
Listening to Kyousuke’s explanation, Rindou nodded in admiration.
“That’s true. There’s no core in our world either.”
“Well, maybe we just don’t know about it. But there’s no point worrying about things we don’t understand.”
“Right. But hey, Rindou-san! If there’s a treasure vault, there might be something good in there!”
“Maybe? …Ah, the Elixir!”
When Ayane cheerfully raised her voice at the end, Rindou also realized that the possibility of obtaining an Elixir had increased.
“……..We really can go further, right?”
“Of course. I won’t do anything that would tarnish an Elf’s pride.”
“…Understood.”
With that, Rindou and the others passed by Eldoran. They began moving down the passage he had emerged from.
