My Unique Skill [Gacha] Will Save the World - Episode 99: Status Check
Episode 99: Status Check
With the topic of proficiency coming up, Rindou decided to check the status of his current skills and their proficiency levels.
He had already conducted a check for nearby monsters. He ensured there were none nearby.
(Come to think of it. Since clearing the Coliseum, I haven’t really checked properly.)
The challenge of the star-6 gate, the intense battle with Ignacio, and especially the time spent acquiring the Elixir had made time fly by quickly. After saving Kyouka, things had been moving at a fast pace.
Now, after this latest challenge, Rindou thought he might take a proper break for a while. He opened his status screen.
(First, [Gacha]—it’s level 2 now, and I can acquire 4 skills. There’s no clear gauge for proficiency with this, so I have no idea how to level it up.)
As the level increases, the number of skills acquired increases too. So Rindou wanted to level up as much as possible. However, he didn’t know how to go about raising his level.
(What I can guess is that proficiency is accumulating somewhere hidden, or maybe it’s the number of gacha pulls… but well, if I keep progressing through challenges, I’m sure it’ll eventually go up.)
Since he couldn’t keep thinking about things he didn’t understand, Rindou shifted his focus to checking the proficiency of each of his other skills.
([Intermediate Swordsmanship] proficiency: 63%, [Resonance] proficiency: 82%, [Iron Wall Reflection] proficiency: 11%, and [Magic Sword] proficiency… 0.3%.)
It was only natural that the proficiency of [Magic Sword] was low, as it was his first time using it.
However, seeing the number 0.3% in front of him made him feel overwhelmed at how long it might take to evolve it.
“If only I could get a proficiency boost from [Gacha]….……. but honestly, it feels like I’ve pulled more rare items and equipment than proficiency boosts.”
Looking at the probabilities, proficiency should actually be easier to get than rare items and equipment.
But the reason he had fewer memories of gaining proficiency was probably because he had obtained equipment and items as rewards for monster hunts.
“…But well, in the end, it seems like the quickest way is to just defeat a lot of monsters.”
“How’s it going, Rindou-kun?”
Seeing Rindou take a breath, Kyousuke asked him.
“The skill evolution is still a long way off. Even the fastest one, [Resonance], is only at 82%.”
“I wonder what happens when [Resonance] evolves?”
“That’s true. I’ve never heard of a skill like [Resonance] before. So I can’t imagine what its higher-tier version might be….… Hmm, I’m not sure.”
Rindou initially intended to operate solo. From his perspective, it was surprising to be working alongside Kyousuke and Ayane.
He thought to himself that if [Resonance] evolved and further boosted his physical abilities, he might not be able to leave their party.
“Thinking about it, the star-6 Coliseum might not have been the best gate for you, Rindou-san?”
Ayane’s words came out, and Rindou shook his head. It was a gate with many monsters, which would trigger the [Gacha] and increase proficiency.
“No, that’s not true. I defeated Ignacio and obtained the [Magic Sword]. And above all, I got the Elixir and was able to save Kyouka. My main goal was accomplished, so there’s no way it wasn’t a good gate.”
After hearing Rindou’s explanation, both Ayane and Kyousuke nodded with smiles.
“Then, if this gate has a lot of monsters, [Resonance] might evolve after all.”
“Normally, this would be something to avoid. But with Rindou-san around, it’s different.”
“Sorry for the trouble. But in return, I’ll split any sold drops. If any rare items or equipment drop, I’ll hand them over. So please forgive me.”
He spoke the first part apologetically. And the second part was a mix of sincerity and joking.
“Really?! Yay!”
“Is it okay for me to share in Rindou-kun’s benefits too?”
“If Kyousuke wasn’t here, I might not even be here right now. Besides, we’re a party, so it’s only natural.”
Ayane was happy, and Kyousuke looked apologetic. But Rindou firmly stated that everyone had a right to share in the benefits.
“Alright! Now that it’s settled, let’s move forward and actively fight monsters!”
“The goal is to raise Rindou-kun’s proficiency, right?”
“I got it! Lulululu~!”
Seeing Ayane in a good mood, Kyousuke smiled wryly.
Rindou secretly appreciated the presence of the two. He felt a deep gratitude for them despite the current situation of the gate exploration.
