“Juju!?” 

The Beelzebub was focused entirely on the fight with Kyousuke’s group. It failed to notice Rindou’s approach. 

With [Advanced Swordsmanship], the swing with Durandal finally landed a blow. It marked the first time the Beelzebub was injured in this battle. 

“Rindou-san!” 

“Rindou Amachi!” 

“Sorry I’m late!” 

Sensing danger, the Beelzebub soared high into the air. While Rindou regrouped with Ayane and Kageboshi. 

“Kyousuke… as I thought, he’s down.” 

Rindou glanced at Kyousuke lying at Ayane’s feet and muttered. 

“Rindou-san, actually, we’re also starting to feel our movements getting restricted.” 

“What about you, Rindou? Are you okay?” 

“Yeah. But a long fight is bad news. Kunichika Igari speculated that it’s tied to how long we’ve been players.” 

Rindou explained succinctly. It caused Ayane and Kageboshi to tilt their heads in thought. 

“…Kunichika was here too?” 

Kyousuke was still collapsed on the ground. But after hearing Rindou’s words, he managed to groan out a strained question. 

“Are you okay, Kyousuke?” 

“I wouldn’t say okay…… but I’m alive.” 

“Everyone else, including Kunichika, is alive too. I’ll finish this monster off quickly, so hang in there just a bit longer.” 

“…Got it.” 

Perhaps reassured by Rindou’s arrival, Kyousuke finally lost consciousness. 

Rather than force himself to stay awake, fainting would help conserve his energy—a deliberate decision. 

“But, Rindou-san, that thing—the Beelzebub—can fly freely in the air.” 

“If it keeps flying like that, there’s nothing we can do.” 

“True. But… we’ve got this.” 

Rindou grinned confidently. And somehow, Ayane and Kageboshi found themselves nodding and smiling in agreement. 

Unbeknownst to him, Rindou had grown into someone his comrades could trust unconditionally. 

“Juju…” 

The Beelzebub was observing them from above. it wasn’t idle. 

The white mist surrounding them was a product of the Beelzebub’s magic. It sapped the players’ consciousness. 

As the mist collected around it, the Beelzebub used it to heal its wounds. 

“…Jujujuju!” 

Once its wounds were completely healed, it launched another attack. 

This time, it wasn’t just a dive. The monster cloaked itself in a black mist as it charged. It was much darker than the earlier white. 

“Don’t touch the black mist! It’s poisonous too!” 

“Understood!” 

“I’ll carry Kyousuke Yada and retreat!” 

“I’m counting on you, Kageboshi!” 

With Kyousuke unconscious, he was vulnerable to the black mist. 

Acting quickly, Kageboshi hoisted Kyousuke onto her back and sprinted out of the battlefield. 

Rindou was wary of the risk of being pursued. He expected a difficult battle if Kageboshi was targeted. 

However, the Beelzebub’s attention was focused solely on Rindou. 

“Heh! Looks like it realizes I’m the real threat!” 

“Jujujuju!” 

Rindou focused on evading the Beelzebub’s attacks. He carefully avoided both the monster and the black mist surrounding it. 

But dodging alone wouldn’t defeat it. 

With that thought, Rindou sheathed Durandal and gripped the Voltenix he had received from Kunichika with both hands. 

“Take this—[Thunderous Explosion]!” 

Swinging the Voltenix toward the approaching Beelzebub, Rindou struck the ground. He unleashed a deafening roar of thunder. 

The thunder pierced through the black mist and struck the Beelzebub directly. 

“Juju… Jujujojojooo!?” 

The attack disrupted the Beelzebub’s balance and dispelled the black mist it had generated. 

Unable to maintain its altitude due to the damage, it faltered as it tried to ascend. 

“Skill: [Mountain]!” 

At that moment, Ayane activated the [Mountain] effect of her skill [Fūrinkazan]. 

The Beelzebub was hit by doubled gravity. The skill was not only preventing it from escaping but was also dragging it lower. 

Trapped, the Beelzebub glared at the approaching Rindou with its compound eyes. 

“J-Jujujujujujuju!” 

It unleashed a dense jet-black mist, even darker than before. It was a final bid to take Rindou down with it. 

The mist encircled Rindou, forming a dome to trap him completely. 

“Rindou-san!” 

Ayane was unable to move while maintaining her [Mountain] skill. She could only call out. 

“So, this is your last-ditch attack, huh, Beelzebub.” 

“Jujujujujuju!” 

Hearing its triumphant cry, Rindou drove the Voltenix into the ground and unsheathed Durandal. 

“Time to unleash its true potential—The Immortal Sword, Durandal!” 

Rindou charged straight toward the Beelzebub. 

The jet-black mist writhed and lashed out at him. 

The highly corrosive mist, upon contact, would cause the skin to fester and decay. And it would quickly spread across the entire body. 

Even the slightest touch would leave no hope of survival unless the affected area was immediately severed—a lethal and merciless poison. 

“Uooooooohhh!!” 

Aimed at the encroaching black mist, Rindou swung Durandal with all his might.
