My Unique Skill [Gacha] Will Save the World - Episode 132: Report
Episode 132: Report
Rindou and the others had arrived at the Association building. They greeted Aoba at the reception lightly before heading straight for the elevator that led to the branch manager’s office. Since they had been there several times before, Aoba didn’t stop them and simply smiled as she saw them off.
“You’ve probably gotten used to this by now.”
“Well, we’ve ignored Aoba-chan’s stop signs quite a few times.”
“Yanase-san is a serious person. But, well, I guess you could say it’s just a matter of getting used to it.”
The three of them had gotten used to heading straight to the elevator. They smiled awkwardly as they boarded.
“What’s this? Are you guys causing trouble even for the receptionist now?”
“Causing trouble for the receptionist? Who else would we be bothering?”
“Well, obviously, it’s the Branch Manager, isn’t it?”
““““…Huh?””””
Kunichika casually informed that they were bothering Kenji. It caused everyone remaining to react in shock.
“…Huh? What’s wrong with you guys?”
“Um, Kunichika? I don’t suppose you really respect Branch Manager Dōmura, do you?”
“It’s not about respect. He’s someone in charge, so it’s only natural to show him respect, right? Kyousuke, you agree, don’t you?”
Rindou and the others exchanged awkward glances. They realized they had fallen into the classic trap of judging based on appearance.
“…What the hell is wrong with you guys? Hey, we’re almost there!”
They wondered whether Kunichika might actually be a natural airhead. As they did, the elevator arrived at the branch manager’s floor. And Kunichika took large strides ahead.
“…Well, whatever.”
Deciding to put aside the question of whether Kunichika was a natural or not, Rindou steeled himself. He knocked on the branch manager’s office door.
“—Come in.”
It seemed Aoba had already relayed the message, as Kenji called out from inside the office. Rindou opened the door.
“Excuse me.”
“As usual, you’re so sudden.”
“I thought time was of the essence.”
“That’s true. But first, congratulations on completing the gate. You’ve been a big help.”
After a brief exchange, Kenji stood up with a serious expression and bowed to Rindou and the others.
“Many players lost their lives. It’s my fault for not managing things properly. I want to express my gratitude to Player Amachi and his group for capturing that gate.”
“We don’t need that kind of gratitude. Let’s just get to the report,”
Kageboshi interrupted, cutting off Kenji’s serious tone.
“…Kageboshi, what the hell?”
“Time was of the essence, right? Then let’s get on with the report. Come on, Rindou. The rest of you, take a seat.”
Like a secretary, Kageboshi efficiently gave instructions. And the others, without thinking, followed her commands and found themselves sitting on the sofa.
“…Huh, what?”
As Rindou and the others let out surprised exclamations, Kageboshi moved to the wall. She had a satisfied look on her face.
Seeing Kageboshi’s actions, Kenji smiled awkwardly and sat across from Rindou.
“Kageboshi is right. Let’s get on with the report.”
“…Understood.”
With that, Rindou and the others began their report on the star 4-double gate. They described the types of monsters, the inability to use skills, and the details of the completely white room that only Rindou and the others had entered after the capture.
Kenji was particularly shocked by the option to enhance and acquire skills. And from his reaction, it was clear that this was the first time he had heard of such information.
“…So, skills can be enhanced or acquired after the fact. That’s incredible.”
Kenji muttered in awe. But when he turned his gaze toward Rindou, he shook his head.
“What’s wrong, Branch Manager?”
“Well, ordinarily, that would be amazing. But I don’t think it’s that surprising to Player Amachi.”
The skill [Gacha] already had the ability to acquire skills, though heavily influence by luck. Due to that, Rindou might not consider the ability to acquire skills later in the game to be particularly important. Kenji thought this might be the case.
“No, it was an incredible enhancement for me as well.”
“Does that mean the Player Amachi chose to enhance his skills rather than acquire new ones?”
“Yes. Or rather, I think that was the only option available.”
When Rindou said this with a wry smile, everyone seemed to understand and nodded in agreement.
“Hey, hey, you guys. Haven’t you forgotten that I’m here? Hey, Rindou, is it really okay for you to tell me this?”
“Huh? Oh, of course.”
“…You answered that immediately.”
Kunichika had interrupted to confirm. He was taken aback when Rindou replied without hesitation. It left Kunichika confused.
“Huh? What’s going on? I thought you had already told him, since you came with him… But Player Amachi is already saying that, so I guess it’s fine.”
“You should’ve confirmed that properly, Branch Manager.”
Luckily, Rindou and the others had talked about it beforehand, so it was fine. But Kenji was unknowingly discussing Rindou’s skill. When Kageboshi pointed this out to him, Kenji could only offer an awkward smile.
