When Ayane was summoned by Rindou, she greeted him with an unusually high-energy greeting as soon as they met.

“Well, if it’s for Kyouka-chan, I’m obviously going to be excited!”

Kyouka had heard Rindou’s muttering. She quickly objected.

“I know. I wasn’t talking about Dr. Kanna, but the other staff. The light when Kyouka awakened must have leaked outside the room. And they probably noticed the changes in Kyouka afterward.”

“Ah… S-sorry, Onii-chan.”

“Don’t worry about it. I don’t want to suspect Dr. Kanna either.”

Since Kyouka had been hospitalized, Kanna hadn’t just treated her physically; she had been a huge emotional support as well. Even after she was discharged, Kanna had been there for Kyouka.

Rindou couldn’t bring himself to doubt someone like that.

“But, you know, Rindou-kun. You didn’t call us just to protect Kyouka-chan, did you?”

If it was just for protection, Rindou was there. And Ayane could cover any places Rindou couldn’t go. Kyousuke must have been called for something else, so he asked to clarify.

“Yeah. Actually, I was planning to enter the gate with Kyouka. But I want both of you to come with us—”

“I’m going! I’m definitely going!”

“…O-okay. Thanks, Ayane.”

“Yes!”

Ayane showed her enthusiasm with a big smile, and Rindou asked her with a wry grin.

“I’m good to go too.”

“Thanks, Kyousuke.”

“By the way, what’s Kyouka-chan’s rank now?”

“Ah! I’m curious about that too!”

Ayane seemed interested in Kyousuke’s question as well. Rindou and Kyouka exchanged a glance and then grinned as they spoke.
