My Unique Skill [Gacha] Will Save the World - Episode 155: Friend or Foe
Episode 155: Friend or Foe
Rindou and his party were heading straight toward the harbor.
However, their path was overrun with a massive number of monsters spreading across the ground. Many players were engaged in the battle to exterminate the beasts. But their efforts barely made a dent in the horde.
The reason? The monsters pouring out of the gate meant for novice players were all equivalent in strength to B-rank or even A-rank monsters.
“Gurrooooaah!”
“Uwaaahhh!”
A B-rank beast was about to crush a young male player with both its arms. But a sharp slash from Rindou intervened.
The beast’s raised arms were severed and sent flying high into the air. It left the young male player wide-eyed as only the gust of wind from the attack brushed past him.
“Hah!”
With a follow-up horizontal slash, Rindou beheaded the monster. It saved the young player from near-certain death.
“If you can’t handle it alone, team up and fight! Don’t throw your life away pointlessly!”
“Y-Yes!”
As Rindou yelled this while leaving, the young player hesitated for a moment before responding. He then dashed off to assist other players engaged in battle.
“Wow! You’re really playing the mentor role, Rindou-san!”
“This isn’t the time to be joking!”
Rindou’s voice rose slightly in response to Ayane’s teasing remark.
“But that player was your senior, you know?”
“The weak should follow the strong,”
Kyousuke said coolly as he surveyed the situation, while Kageboshi added a harsher comment.
“…Everyone’s amazing. Even in this chaos, they’re staying so composed,”
Kyouka thought, barely managing to keep up with Rindou and the others. She was unable to join the conversation.
Though overwhelmed, she was impressed and felt reassured by their presence.
However, unlike Rindou’s party, the other players seemed completely exhausted. Seeing this, Kyouka began to feel that helping them might also be important.
“Kyouka, are you okay?”
Rindou glanced back at Kyouka. He noticed her watching the struggling players. He, too, wanted to help them if possible.
But his priority remained clear: to defeat the monster that had killed Misaki with its flames. If that monster’s fire were unleashed across Japan, it would be nearly impossible to defend against it completely.
“…Kyousuke, can we distribute the potions we’ve stockpiled to the players?”
Rindou came up with an idea: to share the potions they had amassed through gacha pulls with the struggling players.
“I can, but are you sure about this?”
“If Japan gets wiped out, hoarding potions won’t mean much, will it? Even if they’re worth money, money won’t mean much either.”
“Onii-chan!”
Kyouka was moved by Rindou’s judgment. She raised her voice in admiration.
“Hey, you there!”
“Y-Yes!”
Kyousuke called out to a female player resting nearby. He then handed her a potion from his Magic Bag.
“Use this.”
“Th-Thank you so much!”
“Everyone else! We’re distributing potions! If you’re injured, come forward!”
As Kyousuke shouted, players nearby gathered around. Some were gravely injured, prompting Kyousuke to rush to them.
“Are you really okay with this?”
“Of course. This is his goodwill,”
Kyousuke replied, gesturing toward Rindou. The players turned their grateful gazes toward him.
“…Kyousuke could take the credit, you know.”
“That reluctance to take credit is one of Yada-senpai’s best traits, after all.”
Although the group was slightly delayed, they deemed this delay necessary.
“Here are some extra potions. Please hand them out if you find more injured people.”
“Got it!”
With that, Rindou and his party once again set off toward the harbor.
