From the severed neck, thick, dark bl00d spilled out. It was staining the ground.

Rindou, Kyousuke, and Kunichika all let out a brief sigh of relief at the sight before them.

Right after this thought, numerous short tentacles began to grow from the Patchwork Dragon’s wound. They were wriggling wildly all at once.

Kyousuke stood stunned as Kunichika dropped to his knees.

It seemed like all hope was lost. But Rindou still had one last move left.

“I’ll pour all my magic into it!”

The magic floating in the surroundings was running low. Rindou understood that this would likely be his final strike.

As more golden magic emanated from Rindou’s body, the magic began to empower not just him, but Durandal as well. 

Durandal absorbed the magic. It started to turn its blade a golden hue.

The technique of absorbing mana into one’s weapon for a powerful strike had already been mastered.

However, the more magical energy there was, the greater the risk of the weapon breaking.

But that didn’t matter for Durandal. After all, it was the Immortal Sword.

Both Kyousuke and Kunichika couldn’t hide their astonishment at the massive magic emanating from Durandal.

Meanwhile, the tentacles growing from the Patchwork Dragon’s wound began to lengthen. They were slowly gathering together.

The time for regeneration was drawing near.

All the surrounding magic had been depleted. Rindou had gathered all the magic and poured it into Durandal.

The magic swirling around the sword had become dense enough to form a golden blade.

Rindou kicked off the ground, accelerating.

The Patchwork Dragon realized danger was approaching after losing its head. It suddenly twisted its body and began swinging its tail.

The voice of Kageboshi, who had left to deal with the monster horde, could be heard.

Next, Ayane’s voice rang out, and high gravity slammed into the Patchwork Dragon.

Finally, Kyouka’s voice reached him. And for the first time, Rindou turned his gaze toward her voice.

“Hang in there! Onii-chan!”

Seeing Kyouka in his line of sight, Rindou smiled gently. He did so despite being in the heat of battle. He then gave a small nod.

He then shifted his gaze back to the Patchwork Dragon and saw the regenerating neck wound frozen solid.

“…Kyouka’s gotten stronger in the time I’ve been away.”

Motivated not to lose, Rindou activated his [Advanced Mana Swordsmanship] skill once again.

He absorbed the residual magic released by Kageboshi, Ayane, and Kyouka, adding more power to Durandal.

“This is! The strongest strike we all put together!!”

Surrounded by golden magic, Durandal struck the Patchwork Dragon. And as they collided, the magic exploded.

A burst of golden magic expanded out from the center. It engulfed Rindou and the Patchwork Dragon, spreading outward.

The brilliance was so intense that, aside from Rindou, no one could look directly at it.

“W-What’s happening!?”

“Is Rindou alright!?”

“It’s too bright!”

“He’s okay, right!?”

Kyousuke, Kunichika, Kageboshi, and Ayane all voiced their concerns.

Amidst this, only Kyouka remained calm. She closed her eyes, placed her hands over her chest, and murmured in a soft voice.

“I believe in you, Onii-chan.”

Right after Kyouka’s words, a massive column of golden magic shot up from the center of the explosion. It pierced through the clouds.

The magic extended so far that its end was out of sight. It drew the attention of not only Kyouka and the others, but also many players who were dealing with the monsters.

Just as the window appeared before him, Rindou lost consciousness.
