My Villain Is Super Sweet (GL) - CHAPTER 57
Miss Gu, dressed in nothing but a silk slip dress, was practically inviting Lin Lang to do whatever she pleased.
Faced with such a tempting sight, Lin Lang couldn’t focus on any serious matters anymore.
If someone could remain unaffected and still choose to focus on work at a moment like this, they probably deserved to stay single forever—and maybe even win an award for it!
As someone who was definitely not single, Lin Lang’s thoughts spiraled into one conclusion:
“Why do anything else when this is an option? Happiness matters most!”
Following her instincts and choosing Miss Gu, Lin Lang couldn’t help but feel a tiny twinge of guilt.
I’m sorry, I’ve sinned. I turned a perfectly innocent phrase into something completely inappropriate.
The storm eventually subsided.
Gu Qingci sat astride Lin Lang’s lap, her face flushed, her eyes glowing like rippling water. Her voice was lazy and teasing as she asked, “What made you want to do this all of a sudden?”
Her voice was like a hook, pulling Lin Lang’s heartstrings. Still, Lin Lang answered seriously, “The opportunity came up, and it just felt right.”
Lin Lang recounted her plans to Gu Qingci, touching on some recent developments. There would soon be visits from company executives to assess the facilities. Standardized production parameters had mostly been set, meaning the labs here—and the factory on the outskirts of the capital—would both need increased security measures.
This time, Lin Lang didn’t return to Rong City with Gu Qingci. She had an important task to handle: the new project Gu Qingci and Yuan Ying had envisioned was about to enter experimental testing.
The current lab was too small to accommodate another research endeavor. For confidentiality, a separate high-security facility was needed—ideally, a larger space that could be divided into two independent work areas.
Lin Lang’s job was to find a suitable location near the capital as soon as possible, preferably combining both lab and production facilities.
In the meantime, she also wanted to use this gap period to retrain Hui and Sha’s security team to meet the needs of high-net-worth clients.
Once the team was ready, they’d first be deployed to Gu Qingci’s side as a showcase. The idea was that these wealthy visitors, after experiencing top-notch security services firsthand, would be impressed enough to inquire about hiring them in the future.
This strategy, Lin Lang believed, would attract high-value business, turning the security company profitable—and, in turn, making her money.
A flawless plan, wasn’t it?
Gu Qingci wasn’t offering her network and resources for free, either. Future collaborations meant that her company would always receive the best rates. During the three-month demonstration period, the security team would provide premium service at rock-bottom prices—as if they were just regular guards.
While Lin Lang explained all this, her hands wandered mischievously.
Gu Qingci let out a soft hum, her voice seductive and breathless. With a teasing glance, she warned, “Talk properly. Stop messing around.”
“Fine by me,” Gu Qingci replied with narrowed eyes, her breathing unsteady. Her voice turned more alluring. “But if you’re focusing on training the security company, are you not going to be my assistant anymore?”
Lin Lang chuckled softly. “I still am—aren’t I doing just that now?”
Gu Qingci playfully punched her. “Be serious!”
It was hard for Lin Lang to stay serious, especially in a moment like this.
Leaning closer, she whispered, her breath warm and teasing, “A domineering CEO and her close assistant make a good pair. But what about a pampered lady and her loyal bodyguard? Sounds pretty intriguing, doesn’t it?”
Intriguing your head!
Annoyed yet amused, Gu Qingci bit her in retaliation. “That depends on how well you perform.”
Clearly, Lin Lang had a thing for these power-reversal scenarios.
After a night of persuading (or should we say seducing?) Gu Qingci, Lin Lang sprang into action the next morning. She informed Hui and Sha to start preparing.
Her shamelessness paid off; she even convinced Gu Qingci to lend a section of her newly leased property to the security company.
“Having the security team on-site is like living next door to a safety bureau. It’s super reassuring, isn’t it?”
Gu Qingci hadn’t been sold on this idea at first. What convinced her was Lin Lang’s heartfelt reasoning:
“We’ll carefully select a reliable team, loyal and trustworthy, to ensure you’re well-protected.”
Lin Lang had been haunted by dreams of a future where Gu Qingci faced danger—kidnapping, car accidents, disappearance, and even amnesia. Though these events were far away, Lin Lang decided to prepare in advance.
She would personally oversee the selection process, observing candidates for years if necessary. If something still went wrong, at least she’d know she had tried her best.
Her earnestness touched Gu Qingci. To her, it meant her beloved was deeply concerned for her safety—enough to handpick bodyguards who would stay by her side.
Naturally, this filled her heart with sweetness, making her want to reward Lin Lang again—and maybe grant her some exclusive benefits.
Lin Lang, ever the opportunist, took every chance to mingle with the security team during their training. She sparred with them, observed their skills, and evaluated their personalities. By the time the first wave of VIP visitors arrived, the team had undergone a complete transformation.
From uniforms to vehicles to communication tools, everything had been upgraded—thanks to Lin Lang’s investments.
Lin Lang justified her spending with mantras like, “This is necessary,” and “You have to spend money to make money,” convincing herself it was worth it. Though the costs didn’t even dent her wealth, it still hurt her frugal heart.
In the evenings, she would share her doubts with Gu Qingci. “Didn’t I say I’d venture into a high-tech business? How did I end up here?”
Gu Qingci would laugh, stroking her face affectionately. “Then come back and be my assistant.”
Though she joked, she truly missed Lin Lang during the day. Her temporary assistant couldn’t compare to Lin Lang’s attentiveness. Lin Lang’s presence brought warmth and the thrill of sneaky moments stolen between meetings.
Still, Gu Qingci supported Lin Lang’s new business wholeheartedly. A little distance during the day made their nights all the sweeter. Lin Lang’s enthusiasm only grew, and her creativity never failed to surprise Gu Qingci.
“Miss Gu and her personal bodyguard? That’s new, isn’t it?”
“What about Miss Gu and her kept lover?”
“Or a fallen heiress and a debt-collecting thug?”
“I can be anything you like.”
Gu Qingci’s face reddened. Enough! Stop it!
At that moment, she wanted to test all these scenarios immediately.
