My Villain Is Super Sweet (GL) - CHAPTER 65
The two of them only stayed at the beach three days longer than Gu Minglan and her group.
Since they were there to relax, they just did whatever felt most comfortable. They didn’t bother visiting tourist spots—just lazed around near the hotel every day.
Whenever they felt like it, they’d try some activities. But most of the time, they were just running and playing together on the beach or renting a tandem bike and riding along the coast, sweet and carefree.
When they didn’t feel like going out, they’d call for room service and have their meals delivered. Sitting together on the terrace facing the ocean, they would eat slowly and leisurely.
Sometimes, they’d squeeze onto the swing on the terrace, cuddling close, sharing bites of food, breathing in the salty sea breeze, and enjoying a sweet afternoon tea.
As the swing swayed, occasionally a few soft, sweet giggles would escape, drifting away with the wind.
Every time Gu Qingci tried to resist, thinking they really shouldn’t be acting so wild, she was quickly defeated by Lin Lang’s cheeky remarks.
“We’re already living by the sea—how can we not let loose a little?!”
Fine, let’s just be wild, then.
They spent two or three carefree days like that. On the way back home, Gu Qingci was practically skipping with happiness and even wanted to ask Lin Lang where they should travel to next.
It hit her that since they got together, they hadn’t actually traveled anywhere together before.
“Hmm, around September, once all the company projects settle down, how about we go abroad? Maybe a trip to an island?”
The young lady suggested a name—one of the world’s top honeymoon destinations.
Of course, Lin Lang said yes!
Who wouldn’t want to go on a honeymoon trip with their girlfriend?
Just thinking about it made her over-the-moon happy!
They flew back to Beijing in the afternoon, and by the time they got home, Gu Qingci was exhausted.
Lin Lang was immediately full of concern: “Go take a nap first, get some rest.”
Gu Qingci yawned and hugged her from behind. “Aren’t you going to sleep with me?”
Lin Lang kissed her forehead and said, “I’ll finish unpacking and cook dinner. I’ll wake you up later, okay?”
Gu Qingci pouted, clearly not happy about sleeping alone. She just wanted to cuddle.
In the end, Lin Lang tucked her into bed and playfully warned, “If I nap with you, it won’t just be sleeping, you know.”
Gu Qingci: …
This girl is so annoying!
She glared at Lin Lang for a while, but then got a little scared—worried Lin Lang might actually be crazy enough to do something. After a bit more pouting, she obediently closed her eyes, and sleep soon washed over her like a tide.
Only when she was deeply asleep did Lin Lang quietly leave the bedroom, roll up her sleeves, and start unpacking their luggage.
Before they came home, they had already called the housekeeper to clean up and restock the fridge.
After putting everything away, Lin Lang picked out ingredients for dinner and got everything ready to cook.
Seeing that it had been over an hour, she figured it was about time to wake Gu Qingci. If she slept any longer, she wouldn’t be able to fall asleep that night.
Gu Qingci was sleeping soundly and stubbornly refused to get up, even hiding under the blanket to avoid Lin Lang.
When Lin Lang pulled the covers off and scooped her into her arms, Gu Qingci clung to her neck, snuggling in and mumbling, “Just a little longer, okay? Please, just a little bit…”
Lin Lang kissed her and warned, “If you don’t get up, I’m going to use my secret weapon!”
Gu Qingci, still half-asleep and feeling soft and lazy, wasn’t afraid. Even if Lin Lang pulled something, she didn’t mind anymore.
Then Lin Lang started tickling her, making her laugh uncontrollably until tears came out. Laughing so much finally woke her up.
“Okay, okay, I’m up…” Gu Qingci gasped between giggles, completely defeated.
Lin Lang couldn’t help but push her back onto the bed for a few more kisses until the young lady was gasping and her eyes were dazed. Only then did she let her go and start helping her get dressed.
Of course, there were plenty of sneaky kisses and touches along the way.
Gu Qingci leaned sweetly into her, letting her do as she pleased, even rubbing their faces together and giving her little kisses. “You’ve been really happy lately, haven’t you?”
Thinking back carefully, she realized that ever since December 1st—Lin Lang’s birthday—this girl had been in an especially good mood.
Even when her mom came over at New Year’s and ruined Lin Lang’s dream of celebrating the New Year in bed, she didn’t seem too upset. Instead, she was almost cheerful about “dodging a bullet.”
At the time, Gu Qingci had even secretly worried if it meant her charm had faded, or if their honeymoon phase was already over.
How could Lin Lang be so happy about not spending the New Year like that?
But later, during New Year’s Eve at the beach, when Lin Lang practically devoured her in bed with endless passion, she realized she had worried for nothing.
She had thought back then that it was because meeting her parents had lifted a burden from Lin Lang’s heart.
But now, it seemed like there was something else going on.
When Gu Qingci asked about it, Lin Lang’s eyes lit up, and she said excitedly, “I’m 27 now!”
She paused for a second, then emphasized again, “No matter how you count it, I’m really 27 years old!”
Her birthday had passed, New Year’s had passed, even Lunar New Year had passed!
Gu Qingci was a little confused by the random answer, but when Lin Lang emphasized “27 years old” again, she suddenly understood.
Her eyes softened with a smile. “That dream…”
Lin Lang nodded eagerly.
In that dream, she hadn’t lived past 27. But now, no matter how she looked at it, she had officially made it to 27!
What did that mean?
It meant she didn’t have to fear dying young anymore and could stay with her beloved for a long, long time!
Gu Qingci was happy for a moment too—until she thought of something.
Lately, she had noticed some changes in Lin Lang during their more intimate moments.
Before, Lin Lang had always been a little too intense, like she was rushing against time, treating every moment like it might be the last.
Recently though, she had slowed down, becoming much more patient and relaxed, as if she had all the time in the world.
Gu Qingci narrowed her eyes slightly, her voice soft but with a dangerous edge: “So… you were treating our time together like it might end any day?”
Lin Lang immediately sensed danger and grinned sheepishly. “No, no, I just couldn’t help myself! I’d see you and forget everything else!”
Gu Qingci placed her hand on Lin Lang’s forehead, keeping her face at a distance. Smiling coldly, she said, “Let me guess—you were thinking, ‘one day at a time, one time at a time, as long as I don’t lose out, it’s fine,’ right?”
Was that what Lin Lang thought of her?
Gu Qingci was genuinely angry now.
Just thinking about the hidden meaning behind it made her want to hit someone!
While Gu Qingci was getting mad over Lin Lang’s hidden little thoughts…
Gu Minglan was also being driven crazy by Ruan Mingjie.
Before the Lunar New Year, Ruan Mingjie had already shamelessly come begging to get back together.
Gu Minglan had found it hilarious.
This old man, with no abilities to speak of, full of arrogance, having cheated on her for more than a decade, really thought he was still some prized catch?
She didn’t even want to see him—just kicked him out straight away.
But that wasn’t enough. Ruan Mingjie started showing up at her company and even went to her parents’ house, trying to pull a dramatic “repentant ex-husband” performance in front of everyone.
It disgusted Gu Minglan to no end.
Thinking about how her parents were staying with her during the holiday, and how friends and relatives would be visiting too, she realized if Ruan Mingjie staged his drama in front of them, everyone might pressure her to forgive him.
So, she simply packed up her family and went to the beach for New Year’s.
Let him perform his play for an empty house!
Ruan Mingjie, who had been planning to pull out all the stops and guilt-trip everyone, found himself devastated.
If he couldn’t get tears from an audience, how could he convince Gu Minglan to take him back and return to a life of luxury and respect?
After years of hardship and his fortune shrinking rapidly, Ruan Mingjie had lost all his old arrogance. Now, he was desperate to find a shortcut.
When you’re desperate, you change tactics—and he figured getting remarried was his best bet!
His ex-wife and daughter both had massive fortunes now, not to mention booming companies. If they hadn’t divorced, all that would have been his!
Even worse, even though Gu Minglan had made the company even more successful, he had already sold off most of his shares, missing out on the benefits.
It made him so jealous his eyes practically bled.
During the holiday, he couldn’t find them, but Gu Minglan still had to come to the office sometimes.
And today, he finally caught her.
Ruan Mingjie, completely unaware of how disgusting he was, put on his most charming smile and said, “Minglan, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me. We’ve been together for over twenty years—there must still be some feelings left. Let’s give each other another chance, okay?”
Gu Minglan looked at him like he was a clown.
Seriously? He really thought she still had feelings for a cheater? If anything, she felt like tossing him straight into a trash can.
Ruan Mingjie pressed on, “Do it for Qingci. No kid wants their parents to be enemies. Only when parents are together is the family truly whole, right?”
Gu Minglan was so speechless she almost laughed.
Every time she thought he couldn’t get any more shameless, he outdid himself.
Her daughter and Lin Lang had already secretly built their own little family. Neither of them cared about her anymore, let alone this worthless so-called father.
She mocked, “Relax. It’s still early. Just make sure you and your illegitimate son don’t fall into poverty so bad you end up begging Qingci for money to survive!”
Ruan Mingjie’s face darkened.
Honestly, he was already in a terrible situation—having sold his properties and most of his company shares for a sinking investment. Now he only had 2% left, and the dividends weren’t enough for the kind of life he wanted.
Faced with money troubles, things like “passing on the family name” became meaningless.
What family fortune? There was nothing left to inherit!
Gu Minglan gave him a sarcastic little cheer: “Considering how you tried to sell Qingci off to the He family, I’m guessing, at best, she’ll give you the minimum legal amount for elderly support. Better make sure you can survive on a few hundred yuan a month!”
Ruan Mingjie’s eyes flashed with anger.
But seeing the security guards and two bodyguards standing nearby, watching him closely, he had to swallow it down.
