My Villain Is Super Sweet (GL) - CHAPTER 75
Gu Qingci’s steps grew increasingly hesitant.
Having experienced such despair herself, she understood the struggle of realizing you’re being dragged into a dark abyss. Back then, she had desperately hoped for someone to appear and pull her out of danger.
She had been lucky—Lin Lang showed up just in time.
Now, she wished for others in similar situations to receive the same help.
Besides, maybe she was overthinking it, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that, for a brief moment, the girl who had looked at her earlier seemed to have a spark of hope in her eyes—a fleeting expression of relief, as if she thought she had been saved.
Moreover, Gu Qingci had heard stories about people targeting victims in places like this, scheming to lure them in.
If it weren’t for the bodyguards ensuring their safety, she wouldn’t have brought Cheng Xiao and the others to a place like this.
Lin Lang’s thought process was much simpler and more direct. She didn’t bother with “what if” or “maybe.”
Her focus was clear: since Gu Qingci was worried about the girl, the solution was to make sure she felt reassured.
“Oh, this is easy to handle,” Lin Lang said, making a quick call to summon the bodyguards waiting downstairs. She instructed them to protect Gu Qingci and her friends.
Once that was settled, Lin Lang turned and headed back. She arrived just as the servers were about to usher the fresh-faced beauty into a private room under someone’s orders. With a quick stride, Lin Lang reached out to stop the door from closing.
She smiled kindly, but her words were anything but accommodating: “Hold on a second. I just remembered—this is my friend’s younger sister. It’s so late, and she’s this drunk. I can’t just walk away and leave her like this. I’ll make sure she gets home safely.”
The person who had been following the girl frowned impatiently. “Don’t give me that! Get out of the way. You don’t even know her!”
If they really knew her, would they have coldly watched her fall earlier without a hint of concern?
The person reached out to push Lin Lang aside.
One shove—she didn’t budge.
Another shove—steady as a rock.
Their eyes widened in shock as their mind raced.
Someone with such physical control had to be skilled. And for a bodyguard to have that kind of skill, the person they were protecting likely wasn’t ordinary either.
Recalling how Lin Lang had immediately protected Gu Qingci earlier when the girl fell, the individual’s expression turned thoughtful as they glanced at the unconscious girl.
She was pretty, with a great figure, and sharp-eyed enough to approach the wealthiest-looking person for help.
But giving up just like that? Not happening. They signaled to the servers, “Why aren’t you pulling her away?”
The servers, trying to diffuse the situation, plastered polite smiles on their faces. “Excuse us, sir. Would you mind stepping aside?”
Lin Lang shrugged. “Of course, I mind!”
She gave the person an amused yet slightly mocking look as they started ranting, “You can’t fool me! What are you even trying to do?”
Speaking slowly, she feigned a look of confusion. “Well, that’s tricky. I say she’s my friend’s sister, and you don’t believe me. But you say you’re her friend, and I don’t believe you either.”
She pretended to be troubled. “What should we do?”
Then, as if struck by a brilliant idea, she exclaimed, “I know! Let’s call the police!”
At the mention of the police, the person’s expression flickered with panic.
Lin Lang immediately knew she was onto something.
The savvy servers wisely chose to stay silent. Their job was to help customers—not get involved in disputes.
Leaning casually against the wall, Lin Lang smirked. “So, what’s it gonna be? Either we call the police, or I take her with me. Your choice.”
She was betting they wouldn’t dare involve the police, and judging by the situation, the girl had most likely been targeted.
Feigning consideration, she added, “Don’t worry about me taking her. We’ve got plenty of people to handle this.”
Her meaning was clear: they weren’t to underestimate her group, even if the other side had numbers on their side.
Sure enough, any plans they might’ve had to forcefully take the girl were quickly abandoned.
The person laughed awkwardly, backpedaling. “No need for that. These things can be tricky sometimes. Better safe than sorry, right?” He then forced a smile and said, “Since she’s your friend’s sister, we’ll leave her in your care.”
For the sake of appearances, he even handed over the girl’s belongings with exaggerated courtesy.
Lin Lang nodded in satisfaction, instructing the servers who were helping carry the girl to continue assisting as they moved her downstairs.
No way was Lin Lang going to do it herself!
But where should they take someone who was completely unconscious?
Back home, or to a hotel?
Gu Qingci wasn’t comfortable bringing the girl into her and Lin Lang’s home. But leaving her alone in a hotel didn’t seem much safer either.
As Gu Qingci wrestled with how to handle the situation, Lin Lang offered a straightforward solution:
“Obviously, we’re taking her to a hospital!”
Whether it was due to being drugged or just from drinking too much, either situation carried a risk of sudden complications.
Lin Lang had no intention of lifting a finger to help someone if it meant risking herself in the process.
Taking the girl to a hospital for a checkup seemed like the safest option.
Gu Qingci asked the bodyguards to drive her roommates’ home while she and Lin Lang accompanied the fresh-faced beauty to the hospital.
They used the VIP lane, and the test results came back quickly. The alcohol content in the girl’s bl00d wasn’t high, but she had been drugged.
“She’s fine. Take her home to rest. She’ll be better after a good sleep and drinking plenty of water,” the doctor said.
No need to take up a hospital bed when space was tight.
After all the trouble, they ended up going to a hotel.
They booked a suite with two rooms—Lin Lang and Gu Qingci shared one, while the fresh-faced beauty got the other.
The next morning, as Lin Lang and Gu Qingci were having breakfast in the living room, the girl walked out of her room, full of energy and completely unbothered.
The moment she saw Gu Qingci, her eyes lit up. She quickly ran over and casually sat down next to her. “I knew you wouldn’t just leave me behind!”
Lin Lang almost choked.
So this was intentional?
The girl, showing no sign of lingering fear or awkwardness, looked at Lin Lang and matter-of-factly said, “Get me some breakfast too.”
“Oh, and send for a set of clothes.”
“Hmm, and some skincare products. Oh wait, never mind that.” She turned to Gu Qingci with a bright smile. “Sister Qingci, right? Could I borrow your skincare stuff? Buying a full set and taking it with me is such a hassle!”
Lin Lang: ???
Gu Qingci was equally confused, staring at the girl hesitantly. “And you are…?”
The girl’s expression immediately fell, looking incredulous. “You don’t recognize me? Didn’t my brother send you my picture and tell you to look out for me if I had any trouble in Beijing?”
Gu Qingci maintained a polite but distant smile, not answering.
The girl slumped her shoulders dramatically, looking utterly dejected.
“My brother is Fang Baihui,” she sighed. “Guess he’s not as important as he thinks he is.”
So much for him boasting about how well-connected he was in the city!
Gu Qingci offered an awkward but courteous smile.
No wonder the girl looked familiar—Fang Baihui had sent her a photo of his younger sister a while ago.
But seriously, Mr. Fang, your sister is already 22 years old. Sending an 18-year-old high school graduation photo is a bit misleading, isn’t it?
Didn’t you know high school girls and college girls look completely different?
Once they confirmed each other’s identities, the girl’s requests were naturally fulfilled.
After all, she had declared confidently, “Put it on my brother’s tab.”
While waiting for her things to arrive, the girl sat beside Gu Qingci, chatting nonstop.
Oh, by the way, her name was Chen Cheng. As she explained, Fang Baihui was actually her cousin—her aunt’s son.
And since both she and her cousin were good-looking, they didn’t find each other particularly stunning. To them, it was just “average, like me.” Despite the ten-year age gap, their relationship was close—
Close, as in, she caused trouble and Fang Baihui cleaned up her messes.
He wasn’t just a big brother; he was practically a model “dad-bro.”
Chen Cheng kept talking a mile a minute, and Lin Lang and Gu Qingci found her stories surprisingly entertaining.
Who would’ve thought that the usually composed and princely Fang Baihui had so much embarrassing history?
Once Chen Cheng freshened up, changed into new clothes, and sat down quietly for breakfast, her transformation was striking.
In terms of looks and physique, both she and Fang Baihui seemed to be blessed by the heavens.
One was a refined and handsome “prince,” the other a pure and ethereal “princess.” Both had bold, striking features and flawless, captivating appearances.
Unfortunately, they both shared one glaring flaw: they had mouths.
When silent, they could charm anyone with their beauty alone.
But the moment they spoke, all illusions shattered. Their “otherworldly aura” plummeted by at least fifty percent.
It was almost tragic.
After finishing breakfast, Chen Cheng called her brother.
Meanwhile, Lin Lang and Gu Qingci quietly discussed lunch plans and their afternoon date, all while enjoying the unfolding drama of sibling bickering.
When Fang Baihui heard what had happened the night before, he was furious. He scolded Chen Cheng for her recklessness while demanding names so he could “teach those blind fools a lesson.”
Chen Cheng casually rattled off a few names while ranting about the situation, even defending herself.
“I only went because they said there’d be industry people who could help me get a role! How was I supposed to know they’d pull such dirty tricks? It’s not like I’m afraid of drinking!”
“Oh, by the way, bro, I came up with a stage name. It’s amazing! As soon as people hear it, they’ll know we’re siblings!”
“What is it?” Fang Baihui asked warily.
“‘Ming Fang!’ Isn’t it perfect? It took me forever to come up with it!”
“Ming Fang?”
“Yes! You’re Fang Baihui, and I’m Ming Fang. See? We both have ‘Fang’ in our names. Well, at least a third of our names match. How could anyone not know we’re siblings?”
…
At the mention of “Ming Fang,” Lin Lang froze.
Slowly, in shock, she turned to look at Chen Cheng, who was still enthusiastically explaining the brilliance of her name choice.
Wait a minute…
Ming Fang? Wasn’t that the name of that foolish heroine destined to pick her boyfriend’s straight out of the trash?
