My Villain Is Super Sweet (GL) - CHAPTER 82
Just as Lin Lang had predicted, the young lady started sulking and only wanted to lie down after the ordeal.
The whole night belonged to her.
With both the honeymoon and her birthday as reasons, the young lady spent the night indulged in an absurd and embarrassing way, coaxed and tempted by Lin Lang.
That delicate and small cake was not wasted at all. Lin Lang ate it bite by bite, savoring every bit, accompanied by the sweet and seductive sounds of the young lady.
The only consequence was that after Lin Lang finished the cake, the young lady still felt sticky and smelled like fresh baked goods.
As she went to clean herself up, she experienced another kind of feeling.
By the time things finally settled down, Gu Qingci didn’t want to move a finger, feeling so exhausted that her eyes couldn’t stay open. She let Lin Lang clean up after, pulling her into his arms as they fell asleep together.
The next morning, not only was Gu Qingci not up, but even Lin Lang didn’t go out to do his usual surfing, which he had been obsessed with recently.
Gu Qingci opened her eyes, realizing she was still in Lin Lang’s arms, and was momentarily stunned.
Why didn’t this guy get up early to go surf or work out?
After a moment’s thought, she realized, well, after such a wild night, there was really no need for him to go surfing today.
All in all, their honeymoon trip was very much in line with the theme.
Aside from the night on Lin Lang’s birthday being a bit too intense and slightly overwhelming, everything else was harmonious and enjoyable.
After the honeymoon, both of their work and lives returned to normal. They were both overwhelmed with tasks right after returning.
It was December, the end of the year. There were settlements to be made, people to chase for overdue payments, and business relationships to maintain. New year contracts also had to be discussed.
Internally, there were work summaries, annual reviews, year-end reports, and year-end bonuses to arrange, not to mention the company’s annual party.
Though Lin Lang’s wealth wasn’t on par with Gu Qingci’s, she was even busier than Gu Qingci at the end of the year. Besides handling her own work, she had to manage her security and debt collection companies. She had been frequently traveling because of her security company.
While everyone was overwhelmed and wishing they could clone themselves, a sudden thunderbolt struck Gu Qingci’s head!
Her grandparents, who had never really cared for her, suddenly traveled all the way from Rong City to Beijing to “visit” her.
It wasn’t really a visit—it was more like a chance to criticize her.
At first, she didn’t understand why. Though she wasn’t very close to them, she still had to show some courtesy. After all, they had come all this way, so she couldn’t just ignore them.
But she did wonder how they had found her company so precisely. Most people would call ahead if they were visiting a distant relative, right?
Yet, they came straight to her company, which seemed off.
With confusion and some caution in her heart, she reluctantly welcomed them.
As they entered, her grandparents glanced around, occasionally showing signs of satisfaction, even praising her company, saying, “Not bad, not bad,” and “Looks quite impressive.”
Then, they casually mentioned, “We heard you earn more than your father now?”
“Hey, old man, don’t you think so? People are saying you’re making tens of billions a year.”
While admiring her company and its grandeur, they started criticizing her, skillfully pua-ing her.
“Your father told us you changed to your mother’s surname? That’s wrong. You are from the Huan family; why change your surname to hers? You should switch it back.”
“We are your real family. Why are you closer to outsiders than us?”
Gu Qingci felt speechless.
Come on, she grew up with her maternal grandparents. Her father and mother were always too busy with her brothers to care about her.
She remembered everything clearly. Before her father got successful, she often heard her grandmother complain about how she was a burden, wishing for another child to avoid ending the family line.
Now they were accusing her of being distant?
Gu Qingci calmly replied, “Who treats me well, I’ll be close to them.”
“As for whether I follow my father’s or my mother’s surname, I do as I please.”
Her grandparents were not happy with this response. Her grandfather frowned, and her grandmother immediately blamed her mother, “Look at you, talking back to your elders, it’s your mother’s fault, that old woman taught you wrong.”
Gu Qingci took a deep breath. “Alright, you came to see me. I’ve seen you. If there’s nothing else, you can go back now. Your sons and grandsons are waiting for you.”
Please don’t come here again!
Her grandparents, unbothered by her dismissal, exchanged a glance and decided they weren’t done. They had something else to say.
One of them opened their mouth, sending another thunderbolt straight to Gu Qingci’s brain, making her dizzy!
“Well, we’ve been thinking. You’re obviously too busy on your own. You’re a young girl, don’t overwork yourself.”
“Your father is free, and your brother is about to graduate. We’re suggesting your father and brother come help you. Your uncle and cousin can help too.”
Gu Qingci responded calmly, “I don’t have a brother. My mother only had me.”
Her grandparents stiffened for a moment, but they didn’t stop. Their thick skin made them push on, still continuing to complain.
“Qi Ying and you are your father’s children, so why aren’t they your brothers?”
They insisted, “You’re not young anymore. You should get married, don’t work so hard, or no one will want you when you’re older.”
“This big family business—are you going to give it all to outsiders?”
“The family is where you can rely on.”
“They should come help you, let them bear the burden. Once your brother supports you, you won’t have to worry about your husband’s family bullying you.”
Gu Qingci’s head was spinning. What?
What kind of absurd words were these?
They wanted her to give up everything she had worked for, hand it all over to her father and some distant relative who had no right to it?
Did they think she would just let go of all her hard work, her empire, and give it to them?
Her response was simple and sharp, “Stop dreaming. The things you’re imagining won’t happen. You’ll only end up disappointed.”
“By the way, pass this along to my dad: I’ve written my will. If anything happens to me, everything will be donated to the country. He’d better work hard.”
“If I die before him, he can only rely on his good son!”
Her grandparents were furious. They stopped pretending to be kind and began spewing all sorts of curses, accusing her mother and her of breaking up the Huan family, and demanding that everything she had was rightfully theirs.
Gu Qingci’s expression darkened.
She could ignore their insults towards her, but she couldn’t stand them insulting her mother.
She immediately called security to have them escorted out.
She emphasized that they should be sent back to Rong City safely. And they should never come again.
She wasn’t about to endure this brainwashing and insult again.
After sending them off, she returned to her office, closed the door, and immediately called Lin Lang.
When she heard Lin Lang ranting and cursing over the phone, she felt a sense of relief.
At least Lin Lang was there to vent her frustration for her.
Eventually, when Lin Lang started getting creative with her cursing, Gu Qingci had to intervene, laughing slightly, “Alright, that’s enough. Don’t take it too far.”
Even though they were bl00d relatives, she didn’t want to go that far.
But, as Lin Lang had said, they might not be foolish enough to make a move against her directly, but there were other things to worry about.
“I’ve already made sure everything is in my will, and I told them nothing will go to my dad.”
That should prevent any extreme measures, right?
Lin Lang scoffed, suggesting they might go on some show to slander her and try to seize some of her assets.
Gu Qingci was in disbelief, “Are they crazy? If this gets out, it will harm them far more than it would harm me.”
The Huan family had no idea how ridiculous they appeared.
It wasn’t even just the infidelity and illegitimate children—there were worse things they had done. If anyone heard about it online, the public would tear them apart.
It was a level of scandal so appalling, it would be hard to recover from.
