My Wife Always Wants to Run Away - Chapter 36
Tang Jinzhi thoughtfully explained how busy Jie Xiangyi was, explicitly stating that Jie Xiangyi had a night shift and wouldn’t be returning. Only then did her friends give up on waiting for Jie Xiangyi to play together.
Yu Feixue waved her hand. “No problem. I’ll ask around if any of my friends nearby want to hang out.”
She was studying at a university in the area, and there were plenty of classmates with nothing to do.
Zhang Yueqi didn’t have as many friends still in the city, so only a few could come over. He decided to leave it to the girls to handle.
Yang Xiaoyu timidly raised her hand, offering a sheepish smile. “Um, that might not work… Qin Lu and I are still on bad terms online.”
It was one thing for people who knew them to see them together, but bringing in a stranger would be unacceptable. Their managers had repeatedly warned them not to be seen together in public.
Yu Feixue’s eyes widened in realization. “Right! My classmates are unreliable—they’re all blabbermouths. No, no, no.”
Qin Lu pulled out her phone. “I’ll check. My friend had an interview here today; it should be finished by now.”
Seeing their unwavering determination, Tang Jinzhi reluctantly agreed. After all, Jie Xiangyi wasn’t around to be disturbed.
Still, she missed Xiangyi. It had been a whole day since she’d seen her, and being surrounded by strangers made her long for her friend.
Tang Jinzhi glanced at the time—5:30 PM. Clearing her throat to regain everyone’s attention, she said, “You guys can decide who to invite later. No rush. Let’s relax and have dinner first. What does everyone want to eat?”
Zou Limeng immediately chimed in, “I’ll order! Zhang Yueqi’s company cafeteria is nearby, right? If she can’t use it, I can! Hahaha!”
Hearing that smug laugh, Tang Jinzhi instantly understood: this wasn’t about the food; it was purely about watching Zhang Yueqi lose his composure.
Zhang Yueqi’s face darkened with annoyance. “…Don’t you know you’re not supposed to kick a man when he’s down?”
Zou Limeng shrugged. “But the food at your company cafeteria is so good! And you can’t even eat it. I’m just telling the truth. Besides, what’s so tough about your situation? You’ve got food, drinks, and entertainment right here!”
She could have said even harsher things. The truth was, Tang Jinzhi and Jie Xiangyi were essentially supporting her; it hardly counted as a job.
But Zhang Yueqi had improved dramatically compared to before. As a friend, she was delighted to see this change, even if it was gradual. She wasn’t in a hurry.
Previously, she had subtly warned Zhang Yueqi, but Zhang Yueqi hadn’t understood the gravity of her words. With a steady stream of pocket money from her wealthy family, she had completely dismissed her friend’s concerns.
Now, looking back, Jie Xiangyi’s approach seemed wiser—cutting off Zhang Yueqi’s lifeline entirely.
Zou Limeng didn’t realize that the suggestion had actually come from Tang Jinzhi, whom she now vaguely admired. She only knew that the idea was excellent, though still not harsh enough. How much better it would have been to make Zhang Yueqi survive on steamed buns for a while.
After hearing the second half of Zou Limeng’s statement, Zhang Yueqi fell into deep thought. It was true that she still had food, drinks, and entertainment, all provided by Tang Jinzhi, and she felt no pressure.
Tang Jinzhi raised an eyebrow slightly. Zhang Yueqi was now reflecting on her own situation—a promising sign.
She didn’t say anything to call them out.
Seeing Zou Limeng already on her phone contacting the restaurant, Tang Jinzhi didn’t insist on ordering herself. Everyone here had plenty of money; they could order whatever they wanted. Though she was the host, there was no need to make her guests feel uncomfortable for the sake of her own politeness.
The group settled down to review the game.
Not wanting to interrupt them, Tang Jinzhi seized the opportunity to return to her room and immediately called Jie Xiangyi.
It seemed to be after work hours, though Jie Xiangyi had less than an hour before her shift started.
Jie Xiangyi answered quickly.
“Hello,” her cool voice came through the receiver, and Tang Jinzhi smiled.
“Are you tired?” Jie Xiangyi asked. “Have they gone home yet?”
Tang Jinzhi sprawled lazily on the bed, her voice languid. “A little tired. Everyone’s having too much fun to leave. They’re resting now, but we’ll keep playing after dinner.”
Jie Xiangyi was slightly surprised. She had thought Tang Jinzhi meant the game was over for good when she said it earlier, not just the first round.
She paused for two seconds, waiting to hear what Tang Jinzhi wanted. But it seemed there was no specific reason for the call—Tang Jinzhi simply wanted to talk.
Sensing that Tang Jinzhi just wanted to chat, Jie Xiangyi’s voice tightened slightly as she asked, “Are the older sisters easy to get along with?”
Tang Jinzhi scratched at the blanket beneath her, pondering. “They’re very easy to get along with. It’s just… they all seem to know you, but you probably don’t know them. What’s going on?”
Tang Jinzhi had good reason to believe Jie Xiangyi didn’t know them. After all, Jie Xiangyi didn’t even know Yu Feishuang, let alone Yu Feixue, who was still in school. She barely had time to keep up with Zhang Yueqi, her own university-attending cousin.
It was even less likely she’d know the sisters who were busy carving out careers in the entertainment industry. The older sisters were all so busy—how could they possibly have time to get acquainted?
Jie Xiangyi chuckled softly. “Zhang Yueqi met them at a banquet. They know me because of my family’s influence. Soon, many more people will know you too.”
Tang Jinzhi finally understood. She had been too focused on making new friends and had completely overlooked the grand and small banquets held by the wealthy families.
The people in the room were all influential figures.
After a moment of silence, she asked, “But what if I don’t want so many people to know me?”
Jie Xiangyi pondered for a moment. “Then there might not be a way around it. On our engagement day, we’ll be the main attraction. Everyone will know about you.”
Imagining herself and Jie Xiangyi under the spotlight, Tang Jinzhi’s scalp instantly went numb. A whole crowd knowing my identity… What if my true identity is exposed?
I can’t handle it. I really can’t. Even if the rumors aren’t about the real me, they’ll still be about someone named Tang Jinzhi.
Tang Jinzhi couldn’t truly remain indifferent. One of the reasons she avoided the entertainment industry was her inability to tolerate criticism.
My social anxiety is crippling.
Jie Xiangyi reassured her, “Don’t worry, I’ll be there. And the others in the room will be there too. You can hang out with them that day.”
This was the only time Jie Xiangyi had intervened in Zhang Yueqi’s work with Tang Jinzhi. Knowing Tang Jinzhi’s reluctance to go out and her aversion to social gatherings, she had added this condition to Zhang Yueqi’s selection criteria.
Now that Tang Jinzhi had lost her memory and didn’t recognize anyone, she was bound to feel overwhelmed at such a large banquet. That’s why Assistant Zhang had suggested inviting some friends over to her place to help her familiarize herself with them beforehand.
“Oh, that’s thoughtful of Assistant Xiao Zhang,” Tang Jinzhi said, rolling over on the bed to prop herself up on her elbows. She glanced at the phone screen, wondering why she hadn’t just video-called.
Jie Xiangyi chuckled softly.
My Assistant Xiao Zhang isn’t nearly as thoughtful as my wife, she thought.
“Aren’t you going to hang out with them?” Jie Xiangyi asked.
Tang Jinzhi huffed playfully. “I was worried you’d be lonely all by yourself, so I called to chat.”
“Have you eaten yet?”
“Not yet. I was just about to order takeout when you called.”
Tang Jinzhi’s eyes lit up. “Why don’t you come home for dinner?”
It’s not that far.
Jie Xiangyi sighed softly, gently declining. “I’ll just eat here at the hospital. I don’t have time to go home.”
She was still swamped with work, with tasks left unfinished.
Tang Jinzhi’s voice carried a hint of disappointment. “Alright then…”
Jie Xiangyi couldn’t resist reassuring her. “I’ll be back first thing tomorrow morning.”
Tang Jinzhi suddenly felt like a childish little girl, but instead of waiting for her parents to come home, she was waiting for her wife.
She fidgeted with her fingers, her cheeks flushing slightly. When Jie Xiangyi was right in front of her, she could be so bold, but now, separated by a phone call, her confidence seemed to melt away.
She cleared her throat softly to ease her embarrassment. “Okay, I understand. After you get back tomorrow, what time do you need to go to work?”
Jie Xiangyi rubbed her temples wearily. “Noon.”
Tang Jinzhi was speechless.
Tang Jinzhi wanted to curse the unreasonable work schedule.
The next moment, she received Jie Xiangyi’s work schedule.
Jie Xiangyi: “I sent it to you. Take a look.”
This would save her from having to answer the same question every day. Each time she had to explain her work hours, she felt mentally drained.
Tang Jinzhi blurted out, “Why didn’t you send this to me before?”
Jie Xiangyi replied insincerely, “…Oh, I forgot. It didn’t occur to me.”
She secretly grumbled to herself. Tang Jinzhi had never shown such concern before. She never asked when I left or when I’d be back. How would I dare take the initiative to send her my work schedule?
Now, Tang Jinzhi was suddenly asking so frequently.
Tang Jinzhi teased her, “You’re so careless.”
Jie Xiangyi refused to admit she was careless and retorted, “Well, isn’t it because you never asked before? You always acted like I could come and go whenever I pleased.”
Tang Jinzhi sighed dramatically, then asked with a smile, “Is Doctor Xie complaining about me?”
Jie Xiangyi murmured, “How would I dare?”
Even a few more words from her would give Tang Jinzhi an opening to tease her relentlessly.
Tang Jinzhi chuckled. “Then I’ll have to take extra good care of Doctor Xie from now on.”
She was happiest chatting with Jie Xiangyi, as always.
Jie Xiangyi didn’t immediately reject the offer, just as Tang Jinzhi hadn’t accepted her earlier offer to stay. Saying no wouldn’t change anything anyway.
Let Tang Jinzhi have her fun, Jie Xiangyi thought. She had perfected her strategy for dealing with Tang Jinzhi: cooperate without outright refusal, as long as it wasn’t excessive.
I won’t lose anything by playing along. What’s wrong with being obedient? I might as well give in.
They chatted for a while longer, but soon Jie Xiangyi had to get back to work. Tang Jinzhi reluctantly hung up.
Next time, we’re definitely video-chatting!
Tang Jinzhi emerged from her bedroom to find Zhang Yueqi and Yu Feixue grabbing food at the door.
Perfect timing for dinner.
Yang Xiaoyu tore open a package, unable to resist commenting, “It’s so lively with all of us here. I really wish we could go out to eat and explore a bit.”
Zhang Yueqi glanced at Tang Jinzhi, wanting to gently suggest they could have fun even without going out. But Yang Xiaoyu quickly dismissed her own idea.
“Too bad Qin Lu, Yun Jie, and I can’t easily wander around outside together.”
The regret in her voice was unmistakable.
Zhang Yueqi nodded. “True. Speaking of which, do you two ever have a chance to ‘make up’?”
Their online relationship had deteriorated so badly that no one dared mention the other’s name in their presence.
Ji Yunjie immediately chimed in, “Exactly! Then you could form a CP! That would generate massive buzz.”
Tang Jinzhi glanced thoughtfully at the two drama queens, who were leaning close together, playfully fighting over food with their chopsticks. How childish, she thought, but they do have CP potential.
Qin Lu, busy chewing on a crystal dumpling, shot Ji Yunjie a quick look. “We’ve actually considered forming a CP,” she mumbled, “but the fans are fighting too fiercely right now. We need an opportunity to ease tensions and improve our public image.”
Yu Feixue’s keen nose sensed an opportunity. She eagerly raised her hand. “Me! Me! I can help! After I graduate, I’ll create a reality dating show and invite you two to participate! Then the fans can watch you two make up!”
What a massive publicity stunt that would be!
A flash of inspiration struck Tang Jinzhi. She glanced at Yu Feixue, then at Yang Xiaoyu and Qin Lu, who were glaring at Yu Feixue with disdain. This whole operation is a makeshift circus. How could it possibly succeed without me?
After a moment’s thought, Tang Jinzhi turned to the two drama queens who had been bickering over food, their chopsticks clashing like swords. “I’m just curious,” she asked, “how did you two become perceived as mortal enemies in the public eye?”
Ji Yunjie chimed in, “I know this one. During an event, they were playfully teasing each other backstage, and someone caught it on camera.”
Zou Limeng tilted her head. “Playfully teasing? But the trending topics said they were arguing!”
Though not particularly close to these celebrities, Zou Limeng kept up with industry news, as she worked at an entertainment company.
Yang Xiaoyu, looking embarrassed, clarified, “Ahem, it wasn’t playful teasing. We were just… emotionally charged at the time and had a heated argument.”
That incident had spiraled into this whole mess.
It was proving difficult to resolve.
After getting the gist of the situation, Tang Jinzhi lowered her gaze in thought. Suddenly, she declared, “Then let’s keep arguing.”
Her statement left everyone bewildered. Zhang Yueqi, his face a mask of confusion, blurted out, “What? We’re trying to smooth things over, not escalate the conflict! If they keep fighting, they’ll lose their fan base!”
Both fan groups were notoriously fierce.
Tang Jinzhi’s eyes sparkled with amusement. Instead of explaining immediately, she turned to Yu Feixue. “Why a dating show? Wouldn’t other types of variety shows be better?”
Yu Feixue scratched her head, looking puzzled. “But there are so many dating shows being filmed right now.”
Tang Jinzhi pointed to the scripts they had just set down. “This—as far as I know, there aren’t any suspense-mystery variety shows yet.”
As soon as she said this, the others in the room immediately understood her meaning.
Tang Jinzhi smiled at Yu Feixue and Zou Limeng, who were staring at her with shining eyes. “There are too many dating shows, which means the audience has too many options. Even with the ‘love-hate’ buzz around you two, not everyone will tune in. But if we do a mystery variety show, you’ll be the first to try something new.”
“Dating shows are oversaturated, splitting the audience. A mystery show would have you as the only one. Plus, we already have two perfect cast members. With their current popularity, they could argue endlessly during the mysteries, creating huge buzz.”
Tang Jinzhi paused, observing everyone’s expressions to gauge the feasibility of her plan.
It was like a pillow had been delivered just as she was falling asleep. The people she had gathered today were exactly what she needed to bring her initial plan to life.
Yu Feixue looked doubtful. “But I’ve never filmed anything like this before…”
Tang Jinzhi waved her hand dismissively. “Don’t worry. I’ll teach you.”
Over the next half hour, the group ate while Tang Jinzhi explained the project. Yu Feixue grasped many of the details without needing explicit clarification.
They all realized Tang Jinzhi wouldn’t be sharing this much information without a reason. Her confidence in explaining the project suggested she had already prepared thoroughly.
Yu Feixue knew that if she didn’t seize this opportunity, someone else would capitalize on the potential buzz.
Money wasn’t an issue for her; she had the courage to take the risk. Inspired by Tang Jinzhi’s confidence, she felt certain she wouldn’t fail.
Zou Limeng was the first to speak up. “We have to film it! Exactly as you described! I’m in! Bring the project to my entertainment company! Give it to me! I want to make a big splash!”
At the company, everyone treated her like a pampered heiress, rarely assigning her meaningful work. Though they outwardly showed respect, she suspected they secretly mocked her as a useless airhead.
She had long grown tired of it.
Yu Feixue immediately threw herself at Zou Limeng. “Sister Mengmeng! What should I do? I’m just a rookie director! You have to let me direct it!”
Zou Limeng considered for a moment, then nodded. “Alright, since your sister has worked with our company before, we’ll let her take over if you mess up.”
She needed to put some pressure on this still-studying student.
Yu Feixue suddenly sat up and slammed her hand on the table, striking a melodramatic pose with her hands on her hips as she burst into laughter. “Hahaha! Just you wait! I’ll crush Yu Feishuang under my heel!”
The others stared at her, speechless.
Tang Jinzhi’s lips twitched. So they really are sisters, she thought. To say something like that, she must have taken quite a beating from her sister growing up.
Yang Xiaoyu and Qin Lu were the most enthusiastic. They were definitely in—it was a chance to make money, play games, and even get some exposure. Only a fool would pass that up.
Ji Yunjie refused to be left out. “Me too! Me too! How could you forget about me? I can get sponsors! I’m great at it!”
Zou Limeng, by this point, had stopped worrying about whether Zhang Yueqi would agree. Since everyone else was participating, she figured she might as well give him something to do. “Don’t slack off, Zhang Yueqi. You’re working on the planning with Tang Jinzhi. We’re short on hands, so you two will have to pull double duty until we get a proper production team.”
Tang Jinzhi stared at the makeshift team that had materialized in an instant, suddenly feeling overwhelmed.
Without seeing their actual skills, this whole thing felt like a bunch of kids playing make-believe.
“Ahem,” Tang Jinzhi cleared her throat. “I have one condition.”
“Name it!” the others replied in unison.
Tang Jinzhi forced a dry laugh. “…Don’t expose me. I did it secretly.”
Yu Feixue looked puzzled. “Why?”
Tang Jinzhi blinked. “Because the director who wanted to collaborate with me is your sister. I rejected her request to be on set, but since I’ll definitely need to supervise the variety show recording, so…”
She didn’t hide her collaboration with Yu Feishuang, knowing the sisters would find out eventually.
Yu Feixue’s eyes lit up. “You dumped my sister! You chose me!”
“From now on, you’re my real sister!”
Hearing her blunt explanation, Tang Jinzhi chuckled, wondering how Yu Feishuang would react when she found out.
Actually, the main reason Tang Jinzhi didn’t want to be exposed was because she preferred not to see her real name online. A pen name or alias would do just fine.
Zou Limeng yanked the standing Yu Feixue down to sit properly, unable to resist commenting, “Your sister has good taste, huh?”
It seemed Tang Jinzhi’s work was reliable and valuable, boosting Zou Limeng’s confidence in their future success.
If Yu Feixue failed to deliver, she’d seriously consider bringing Yu Feishuang on board.
No one could afford to let her lose money.
They felt no pressure regarding the filming itself, backed by capital and connections. Their only concern was the post-broadcast buzz and engagement, hoping it wouldn’t disappoint them.
Tang Jinzhi wasn’t sure how long their initial enthusiasm would last, nor did she care. She believed that convincing these individuals was already a major victory. The technical aspects should be left to the professionals.
She wouldn’t micromanage everything. Her role was limited to brainstorming ideas and writing the script. In truth, she was quite lazy and only wanted to make a little money.
The three hundred million yuan hadn’t even fully reached her account yet. How could she feel as secure spending money she hadn’t earned herself?
Tang Jinzhi cherished the sense of accomplishment that came from earning her own money.
With the immediate business settled, the group finally began to chat casually.
Tang Jinzhi listened attentively as Zou Limeng spoke animatedly, while Yu Feixue took notes on her phone. Suddenly, their makeshift team didn’t seem so amateurish after all.
Although Zhang Yueqi’s professional expertise couldn’t match the others, his network was unparalleled. For any specialized personnel they needed, he could simply borrow them from his friends.
Tang Jinzhi couldn’t help but marvel at the importance of connections.
Yu Feixue finished her last fried yogurt and glanced around the room. “Speaking of which, Qin Lu, why hasn’t your friend arrived yet?”
She was already impatient to start the next game.
Qin Lu opened her phone. “I’ll ask her.”
As soon as she spoke, the others noticed her frowning.
“Huh?”
“She said she had something come up and sent someone else in her place.”
Yang Xiaoyu looked puzzled. “Did she say who?”
Qin Lu shook her head. “No, but she said they’re reliable.”
Yang Xiaoyu pressed further. “Then why didn’t she say who it was?”
Qin Lu shrugged. “I don’t know. I’ll ask.”
Tang Jinzhi frowned slightly. This uncertainty made her uneasy. She didn’t want to let anyone into her home unless she was sure they were trustworthy.
She was very possessive and territorial. Even Zhang Yueqi and her other friends weren’t allowed in the bedroom she shared with Jie Xiangyi—she didn’t even want them to glance inside.
But saying no now would be impolite, a bit of a slap in the face.
Sigh…
This was annoying. She missed Jie Xiangyi.
Before Qin Lu could get an answer, someone knocked on the door.
Qin Lu followed Tang Jinzhi to the door, curious to see who had come.
Tang Jinzhi opened the door, and her expression instantly darkened at the sight of the person standing outside. Before Qin Lu could even glance at the visitor, Tang Jinzhi slammed the door shut with a bang.
Qin Lu looked bewildered. “Who was it?”
Tang Jinzhi turned around, her face grim.
Zhang Yueqi, who had also come over, noticed Tang Jinzhi’s darkening expression and felt a growing sense of unease.
She asked tentatively, “It couldn’t be Sheng Yanzhi, could it?”
Apart from Jie Xiangyi and herself, Tang Jinzhi had only met one other person—Sheng Yanzhi. Only Sheng Yanzhi could make Tang Jinzhi’s face twist into such a dark expression.
Tang Jinzhi nodded. “It was her.”
Qin Lu was stunned by the name.
“What the hell? Who? Sheng Yanzhi?”
“Why would I let her in? Do I even know her?”
The others in the living room, hearing the commotion, rushed over. When they learned it was Sheng Yanzhi, their faces paled in unison. Like Jie Xiangyi, Sheng Yanzhi didn’t know them, but they all knew her—the infamous, deranged Sheng Yanzhi.
Ji Yunjie reacted the strongest. “Don’t let her in!”
Tang Jinzhi glanced at Ji Yunjie’s bloodshot eyes and suddenly felt a foreboding sense.
Zhang Yueqi’s eyes widened as he quickly embraced Ji Yunjie, who had begun to tremble. He patted her back gently, reassuring her, “Don’t worry, Tang Jinzhi won’t let her in.”
Tang Jinzhi nodded, carefully observing Ji Yunjie’s state. Anger outweighed fear; she was shaking with fury.
Her stern expression softened into a relaxed smile as she joked lightly, “I wouldn’t dare let her in. If Jie Xiangyi found out, she’d never forgive me—she’d be so jealous.”
Ji Yunjie paled as she looked at Tang Jinzhi. “Is she… stalking you?” she asked, her tone filled with certainty.
Tang Jinzhi sighed softly and nodded. “Yes.”
Ji Yunjie’s brow furrowed deeply. She opened her mouth to speak, but remembering Jie Xiangyi’s status, she ultimately said nothing more.
This wasn’t something she could interfere with.
Zhang Yueqi cut short her brooding by leading everyone back to the living room. Fearing his lack of comforting skills, Yang Xiaoyu followed them.
Qin Lu was on the phone with her friend, trying to understand what she meant.
Zou Limeng stood by the door, arms crossed, glaring at the persistent knocking with annoyance.
Impatiently, she banged on the door. “Who let this lunatic out?”
Yu Feixue quickly grabbed her hand before she could strike again. “Sister Mengmeng, don’t hit it anymore! She’ll think Sister Tang is responding to her and playing along.”
Zou Limeng choked on her words. Could Sheng Yanzhi really be that unhinged?
Tang Jinzhi considered her options. She wouldn’t open the door again.
She glanced at the unused monitor beside the door, studied it briefly, and turned it on. The surveillance footage quickly showed the person outside. She activated the intercom. “What do you want?”
Sheng Yanzhi smiled. “I heard you’re short a player for your game. I happen to be free, so I came over.”
Tang Jinzhi refused outright. “Sorry, we’ve already wrapped up. Stop knocking and go home.”
Politeness was wasted on someone as pushy as Sheng Yanzhi.
Tang Jinzhi had already decided: she’d tell Jie Xiangyi tomorrow that she hadn’t let anyone in. Hmph, then Jie Xiangyi will have to praise me!
Ignoring the person at the door, she turned off the monitor and pulled Zou Limeng and Yu Feixue, who hadn’t even had time to curse, toward the living room.
Qin Lu returned from her phone call, her cheeks puffed out in anger. She plopped down and declared, “I blocked her. Just like you all thought.”
“What about the person outside?” Yang Xiaoyu asked.
Zou Limeng scoffed. “Let them wait. They’ll leave eventually. They’ve stopped banging on the door, haven’t they? If they don’t leave, we’ll call building security.”
Tang Jinzhi nodded in agreement, her gaze darkening. She felt restless without Jie Xiangyi around.
“Do you guys still want to play?” she asked, looking directly at Ji Yunjie.
Ji Yunjie took a deep breath. “Yes! Why shouldn’t we?”
Zhang Yueqi immediately refused. “Come on, let’s just play next time.”
She had invited her friends over, and she felt responsible for them. With Ji Yunjie in such a state, she didn’t feel comfortable letting her stay. After all, Sheng Yanzhi wouldn’t give up on Tang Jinzhi so easily. Even if she left now, she might return later tonight.
If only Xiangyi were here, she thought.
The others didn’t insist on continuing the game either. There would be other chances to get together.
After confirming that Sheng Yanzhi had left, they ate, drank, and chatted for about half an hour until Ji Yunjie had calmed down. Only then did they decide to leave.
Tang Jinzhi only relaxed when she knew someone was coming to pick them up.
Ironically, her friends seemed more worried about Tang Jinzhi’s situation than she was about theirs.
Tang Jinzhi felt utterly drained. Sheng Yanzhi was truly terrifying.
Does she really think knocking on the door doesn’t count as harassment?
She missed Jie Xiangyi terribly.
