Naughty Puppy Will Be Eaten by a Bad Woman - Chapter 19
“This streamer… she likes women.”
How could Yu Longyan do this during a live stream…?
But this time, Lu Zhao reacted quickly and reached for the spoon to feed herself.
Yu Longyan dodged, twisting the spoon around, and ate the honey herself.
“The first taste is always for me~ It’s so sweet! Some honeys are cloyingly sweet because they’ve been concentrated at high temperatures. But this honey has a gentle sweetness that won’t leave a sticky feeling in your throat…”
Anyone watching would believe Yu Longyan’s praise was genuine and heartfelt, flowing naturally from her.
Lu Zhao’s heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally relaxed. In just a few dozen seconds, her heart rate had surged and plummeted like a rollercoaster.
Thankfully, her years as a reporter hadn’t been wasted. She immediately caught up with the rhythm: “Really? Then I’ll try dissolving some in water to see…”
The tasting segment passed without incident, and the atmosphere in the live stream chat soared to new heights after their interaction. Today’s viewership was even more impressive than on Lu Zhao’s debut stream—their combined presence clearly generated more than just a one-plus-one effect.
“I thought we were about to get a feeding scene there!”
Ahhh, I thought so too! Xiao Lu looks like the type who’d obediently let herself be fed.
Xiao Lu was clearly startled!
Never mind, I’m going crazy for this ship!
Lu Zhao glanced at the bullet comments, feeling a headache coming on. She knew these comments would soon translate into real orders, but she still felt a bit awkward.
Yu Longyan, seemingly unfazed by the commotion, smirked and gave Lu Zhao a knowing look, signaling that it was time to move into the hard-sell phase.
Yu Longyan: “Uncle Zhang from the Bee Farm said this quality should sell for at least 79. But I think that’s too high—what do you think, Reporter Lu?”
Lu Zhao frowned slightly, her delicate brows furrowing as she replied earnestly, “Based on cost calculations, 79 is actually…”
Yu Longyan abruptly cut her off: “See! Even Reporter Lu thinks it’s too expensive! 59—link it now!”
Lu Zhao froze, her expression vividly stunned. She stood motionless, her peach-blossom eyes wide with shock, unblinking and brimming with dramatic flair, yet without feeling overly exaggerated.
Sister Yan is on a rampage!
Lu Zhao: Who am I? Where am I?
The control room staff, watching the inventory orders surge, beamed with delight and gave the two women a thumbs-up.
Lu Zhao knew this performance was working perfectly. She and Yu Longyan played off each other, one playing the “tough cop” while the other played the “soft cop,” rapidly clearing out the backstage inventory.
Yu Longyan glanced at Lu Zhao’s profile while taking a sip of water.
Under the intense heat of the live broadcast, Lu Zhao had already broken into a light sweat. A few damp strands of hair clung to the nape of her neck, accentuating her porcelain-white skin. Her cheeks flushed slightly, but her beautiful peach-blossom eyes still sparkled with vitality, radiating an irresistible energy that drew the eye.
“Drink some water,” Yu Longyan said, her gaze lingering on the faint sheen of sweat at the base of Lu Zhao’s neck. She grabbed another bottle and handed it to Lu Zhao.
“Thanks,” Lu Zhao replied, twisting open the cap with a practiced flick of her wrist. She tilted her head back and gulped down the water, having forgotten to drink while focused on the broadcast. She was indeed quite thirsty.
As Lu Zhao tilted her head back, the curve of her jawline flowed seamlessly into her neck. Her throat bobbed subtly as she swallowed, and her peach-blossom eyes drifted upward, momentarily unfocused, half-lidded with long lashes fluttering gently.
Yu Longyan suddenly felt a wave of heat wash over her. She averted her gaze and resumed the next segment of the broadcast.
Yu Longyan and Lu Zhao worked together like a comedy duo, one setting up the joke while the other delivered the punchline. The live stream maintained a tight rhythm and a fiery atmosphere, with viewers placing orders non-stop.
“Why are you glued to the live stream?”
In the General Manager’s office at Yunqing Group, Lingxi noticed her classmate staring intently at her phone screen, her brow furrowed. She leaned closer to take a peek.
“Hey, isn’t that Reporter Lu? Is she doing live commerce now?”
Lingxi was surprised. Her last memory of Lu Zhao was from the Sarawi conflict, when the reporter had covered their company’s efforts.
During the brutal fighting in Sarawi, Lingkang Medical Group, still in its early stages, had decided to do its part. Lingxi and her girlfriend Connie had provided impartial logistical and medical support to both warring nations.
Their motivation was simple: to uphold the Hippocratic oath they had sworn when they first studied medicine, to heal and save lives without discrimination.
Unexpectedly, Lu Zhao, stationed on the front lines, reported on their efforts, inadvertently giving their fledgling company a massive boost. Clients and sponsors began flooding in.
Now, Lingkang had become a rising star on the international stage.
“She looks fairer than before,” Lingxi remarked objectively, having briefly met Lu Zhao amidst the smoke and chaos of the battlefield.
Lingxi had returned to China to finalize the details of their “steal the sky and swap the sun” plan to seize Yunqing Group’s shares with Gu Xianyue. They also planned to attend the International Medical Summit together next month.
Of course, catching up with her old friend Gu Xianyue was also on the agenda. But halfway through their conversation, Lingxi noticed Gu Xianyue’s attention drifting. She had opened her phone to watch a live stream, and her expression grew increasingly displeased.
Gu Xianyue’s usually alluring eyes now lacked their usual charm. The sharp, upturned corners of her eyes radiated an icy coldness that sent a shiver down Lingxi’s spine.
“Isn’t that just like her? Spending all day doing live streams instead of focusing on her real work,” Lingxi remarked.
“Well, we can’t really blame her. Reporter Lu is probably just following the station’s orders…” Lingxi trailed off, noticing Gu Xianyue’s disdainful gaze, though she continued to stare intently at the screen.
Based on her understanding of Gu Xianyue, Lingxi detected a faint undercurrent of jealousy.
Intrigued, she leaned closer to examine the live stream more closely.
The other woman looked familiar, her interactions with Lu Zhao were natural and intimate, and the bullet comments…
Lingxi gasped, “I know this streamer! She’s a…”
“She’s a what?”
Gu Xianyue raised an eyebrow. She hadn’t intended to spare Yu Longyan even a glance, but Lu Zhao happened to be co-hosting the live stream with her.
Lingxi had the name “Lingxi” on the tip of her tongue, but seeing Gu Xianyue’s reaction and recalling the earth-shattering press conference between Gu Xianyue and Lu Zhao, something suddenly clicked in her mind like a flash of lightning.
After a moment’s hesitation, she finally said, “This streamer… she likes women.”
