- Episode 15 - Cleaning Up. And then....
“Pseudo-Light Attribute — Lucifer: Deployment, Activate.”
A surge of pure white particles bursts forth from my body. The magic I’ve activated is a light-attribute spell. In the original story, the character Yuri awakens this power near the climax.
He possesses a unique magic processing domain that allows him to run two different magic formulas simultaneously. In other words, by forcing two dark-element spells to collide, he can simulate the effects of light magic. It’s a highly mana-intensive process, but the benefits of wielding light magic are significant.
Unlike dark magic, which typically inflicts debuffs, light magic grants buffs to all stats. Even identical spells become far more powerful simply because of their light attribute. And more importantly, light magic users are almost unheard of in this world
“What… what is that…!?”
Standing before me, Cedwyn trembles in fear.
“Just magic.”
“Light attribute!? How could an F-rank like you possibly…!?”
He channels magic into the ring on his right index finger. In response, a surge of jet-black mana spills out from it.
“—Dark Spear: Dark Lance!!”
I reinforce my body with light magic and casually bat away the incoming attack with my right hand.
“That all you got?”
“Y-You monsterrrrrrr!!”
Cedwyn, gripped by fear, unleashes another barrage of Dark Lances. I effortlessly deflect them all.
“G-Gyaaahhhhhhhhh!!”
He tries to run, but I close the distance in a flash and deliver a powerful kick to his midsection.
“Guh…!”
Cedwyn tumbles across the ground, too injured to even stand. I look down at him coldly, without a shred of sympathy.
“A-ah… no…”
“You said it yourself, didn’t you? This world is ruled by violence.”
“Ghh…”
“This is your reckoning. Now then… let me show you what true violence looks like.”
I raise my right hand and begin to summon the Holy Lance—a radiant spear of light—but at that moment, Cedwyn suddenly clutches his chest and lets out a strained gasp.
“Wh-What is this…!? Gah—AaaAAAAAARGHHHH!!”
Confusion fills his expression as darkness pours out of the ring on his hand. It’s clear this isn’t under his control
“NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!”
The dark mana swallows him whole—and when it vanishes, only the ring remains, clattering to the ground. A sharp crack, and the ring disintegrates entirely.
“So, the Empire shows no mercy, not even to its own.”
That ring must have been rigged with a programmed spell—something designed to self-destruct and erase all evidence the moment Cedwyn became a liability.
Still, one thing is clear: the threat of the Empire is rapidly closing in on the Kingdom.
With that realization, I turn on my heel and begin walking back toward the mansion.

“…Yuri?”
Yuri ran out, a serious look on his face. I was exhausted from the battle, but somehow managed to move my aching body and follow after him.
“…Huh?”
Yuri’s innate magic is supposed to be dark-attribute… so how? How is he using light magic? But in the end, that didn’t matter.
Because the way Yuri looked… was simply divine. Shrouded in pure white light, he looked just like a god.
I never believed in gods. But now, I do. Because Yuri is one… isn’t he?
Yuri… I never thought I could tell you how I feel. There’s always been a tiny flame deep in my heart.
But now… that small flame has become a blazing fire.
Heh… Ahh! That’s right! My entire life—everything, everything, everything—existed for Yuri’s sake! From the moment I was born, I’ve been alive only to devote myself to him!
To live courageously and forge my own path… That’s what Yuri taught me. And this courage—this overwhelming feeling—is love. Pure, undeniable love!
Yuri, Yuri, Yuri! I love you. From the bottom of my heart, I love you. I want to be by your side forever. I want to dedicate my life to you. That’s what you taught me.
And with that, my path became clear.
I won’t become a saintess. Not anymore.
Because I’m going to live my life bravely, with my own two hands—just like Yuri said.
Right?
…Right, Yuri?

So, to sum up what happened—
After all that, Ria suddenly declared that she would not become a saintess. I tried to reason with her, thinking it was a bad idea… but she wouldn’t hear a word of it. In fact, there was no trace of the loneliness I once saw in her eyes. Now, they were filled with absolute confidence.
“That should do it.”
“Yeah.”
Right now, Ria and I are cleaning the mansion. She officially withdrew from the church despite heavy pushback—and brushed off all their attempts to stop her. Now, she wants to become an adventurer and travel alongside me.
At first, I wasn’t sure how to respond, but then I came up with a great idea: what if I trained the heroines who are supposed to join Theo’s party in the future? That way, I’d have strong allies on my side, and I already know this world inside and out. It sounded like a perfect plan.
“Yuri, where are we going first?”
Ria had cut her hair into a short bob, and it suited her perfectly.
“We’re heading to the capital.”
“I see. So… you have to do something there, right?”
“Yeah. I’ll explain everything once we arrive.”
“Okay. Hey, Yuri…”
“Hm? What is it?”
Ria looked deep into my eyes and spoke gently.
“I’ll do anything for you, Yuri. Anything I can do to help, just tell me, okay? Oh, and from now on, let me handle the housework. I can manage our finances too, if you’d like. But if you’re uncomfortable with that, we can set clear boundaries.
Really, I just want you to rely on me—even if it’s just a little. It’s not weird or anything, I swear. I just… want to be useful to you. If I’m overstepping, just tell me. I’ll fix whatever bothers you. Alright? Yuri?”
“…”
Huh? That was really fast… And although she’s smiling, her eyes look completely… lifeless?
“Sure. Let’s work together on what we can.”
“Yay! I’ll do anything for my dear husband Yuri!”
“Huh? Uh… yeah…”
Did she just call me her husband…? No, probably just my imagination.
And so, we set off for the Kingdom.

After arriving safely, we decided to stay for a while and booked an inn. Then we made our way to the Adventurer’s Guild so Ria could complete her registration.
As we entered the guild, my eyes locked with a woman’s.
Golden hair that shimmered like sunlight. Eyes as clear and blue as the open sky. Her features were noble and refined, exuding grace and elegance.
Of all people… I knew her best.
“…Brother?”
That’s right. The woman standing there was none other than Yuri’s younger sister
Eve.
