Omega Taming the Black Moonlight - Chapter 10
Before this, Yan Liu had only a vague understanding of the so-called ABO world.
She knew that Omegas tended to be physically weaker, while Alphas possessed superior physical strength and a more aggressive nature.
But it wasn’t until now, trapped in the same room with Ji Yilian, an S-class Alpha, forced into this isolation, and nearly bitten like a dessert, that she truly realized how dangerous Alphas were.
The Spiritual Power that could effortlessly restrain you, suppressing your entire aura and presence, was inherently aggressive and invasive.
Even though Ji Yilian looked like a beautiful woman—her features and figure indistinguishable from Yan Liu’s, save for her excessive height, like a supermodel—she was dangerous.
Ji Yilian was dangerous.
Yan Liu nearly burst into tears, her body trembling slightly.
The girl’s fine, soft hair wasn’t particularly smooth or glossy, but under the warm yellow lamplight, all imperfections were concealed.
Even her slightly pale complexion now appeared captivatingly pure, her deer-like eyes radiating innocent charm.
But why did such captivatingly clear eyes, when turned upon her, brim with such watery intensity, as if concealing resistance and fear?
Ji Yilian closed her eyes, struggling to suppress the overwhelming pull of Yan Liu’s pheromones.
“You haven’t answered me, Yan Liu,” she murmured, her voice hoarse and lacking its usual clarity as she stroked the girl’s cheek. “Why do you smell so intoxicating?”
She knew what Yan Liu’s pheromones had been like before. She hadn’t paid particular attention, but they had never been this alluring, never driven her to such a state of near-loss of control.
It was as if she were a person starved for ages, now faced with a perfect feast. Her stomach growled fiercely, every craving awakened. That she could restrain her instincts and resist devouring the feast was a testament to her self-discipline.
But Yan Liu clearly didn’t understand the immense effort it took for her to hold back.
The girl continued to stare with those innocent eyes, her lips barely moving as she squeezed out a hurried, panicked voice.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about… Ji Yilian.”
Gone was the familiar “Yiyi, Yiyi” she used to call her Omega, replaced by a thorny rose she couldn’t even touch without pricking her fingers on its sharp thorns.
Yan Liu struggled with all her might to break free from Ji Yilian’s embrace, finally darting to a corner to catch her breath.
Terrifying!
Being so close to Ji Yilian just now had been overwhelming. The pressure she exuded was like a condensed version of an entire planet—no matter how beautiful it appeared, you knew it possessed unparalleled power, capable of utterly crushing and obliterating you.
“Ji Yilian,” Yan Liu said, steadying herself with a hand to her forehead, barely managing to regain her composure. “This is my home. You can’t just appear here without my permission.”
She rattled off the words in a rush, slowly circling toward the table, trying to maintain a safe distance between them. She wanted at least a table’s width between them, to prevent Ji Yilian from getting so close again.
She had no desire for another close encounter!
“Are you trying to drive me away? You never used to be like this,” Ji Yilian said, her lips pressed into a thin line, her voice steady.
Yan Liu, past caring about winning her over or taming her, snapped back in exasperation, “You never used to cling to me like this either!”
For the past eighteen years, Ji Yilian had never initiated closeness with the Original Host in her memories. She had always walked ahead alone, leaving the Original Host to trail behind, desperately trying to keep up.
Ji Yilian fell silent for a moment.
Perhaps convinced by Yan Liu’s earlier words, or simply unable to find the right words to respond, Ji Yilian remained silent.
“So… why are you really here?” Yan Liu asked, her small hands bracing against the table as she glared at Ji Yilian with wide, almond-shaped eyes, her face practically screaming, “Don’t stay in my house any longer!”
Ji Yilian shifted her gaze, a thought surfacing in her mind:Â Yan Liu looks like a hissing kitten, but she’s unexpectedly adorable.
Despite these thoughts, Ji Yilian remained silent, refusing to answer Yan Liu’s question. Instead, she smoothly pulled out a chair and sat down.
The moment she sat, the oppressive atmosphere noticeably eased. The visual impact of her height was diminished, after all.
Yet her commanding presence remained palpable. As she sat there with an air of composure, the elegant curve of her jaw, the cascade of her long black hair, her posture, and even the way her slightly lowered eyelids revealed her strikingly long lashes—all radiated an undeniable sense of authority.
“I’m here for this,” Ji Yilian said, unfolding the crumpled paper in her hand. She smoothed it out and placed it on the table.
Yan Liu startled, momentarily fearing Ji Yilian had used magic to vanish the paper on which she’d written her strategy notes. But when she clenched her fist, the crumpled paper was still there, reassuring her that it hadn’t been magically stolen. She secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Another glance revealed the crumpled paper spread across the table: the very number tag she had drawn at the arena earlier that day.
“Your opponent is me,” Ji Yilian stated, her slender finger tapping the paper as she met Yan Liu’s wary gaze across the table.
“Therefore, you have no chance of winning.”
!!!
Yan Liu had initially thought Ji Yilian was here to say something important. But after all this, it turned out she had come to her home to issue a challenge, launch a psychological attack, and humiliate her!
The battle hadn’t even begun, yet this woman had the audacity to barge into her home and declare, “You’re going to lose because your opponent is me.”
Hmph! How infuriating!
Just as Yan Liu was debating how to retaliate—whether to hurl a chair or grab a broom and sweep Ji Yilian out the door—the imposing woman sitting across from her spoke again.
“I’ve reviewed your academic records from the past three years at the Academy.”
Ji Yilian tapped her Smart Brain, and a holographic screen materialized before Yan Liu.
“Out of fifty courses, you passed only five. The remaining forty-five were failures.”
Ji Yilian’s voice was as cold and emotionless as that of an academic registrar.
Yan Liu’s bl00d rushed to her head, she felt like she was about to explode.
!
Furious! But also utterly shocked!
As the model granddaughter who had always made her grandfather proud, Yan Liu had been a top student her entire life.
For her, education was the key to changing her destiny.
She had known the Original Host’s grades were poor—that she skipped classes daily to work, willingly served as a “bl00d bag,” and allowed herself to be used as a stepping stone for others’ success. But this didn’t mean she truly understood the extent of the Original Host’s academic failure!
Excellent. Five passing grades out of fifty courses. A 10% passing rate. How dare she!
Yan Liu was stunned, completely forgetting her anger and the need to investigate Ji Yilian’s motives for revealing her transcript.
Waaah! For a top student to suddenly accept that she’s become a complete failure overnight… it’s spiritual torture!
And to have this happen in front of her rival and target of her romantic pursuit?
Her dignity was shattered.
Yan Liu’s heart turned cold. Her almond-shaped eyes welled up with tears, and her delicate face drained of color, leaving only defeat.
“…What are you trying to say? Are you here to humiliate me?”
She leaned weakly against the wall, her chin tilted slightly upward, her almond-shaped eyes almost devoid of light.
Ji Yilian watched the girl who had been so defiant just moments ago, her voice bristling with anger even when speaking to her, now suddenly subdued, lacking even the strength to glance at her. For some reason, Ji Yilian felt a strange, feather-light tickle in her heart.
“I’m not here to humiliate you,” Ji Yilian said earnestly. “Those who fail will retake the exam.”
She clapped her hands.
The door swung open, and two figures entered the room.
Yan Liu nearly leaped to her feet, quickly straightening her posture and glaring warily at the newcomers.
The figures placed a pile of items on the floor before silently retreating.
Ji Yilian nodded slightly, gesturing for Yan Liu to unwrap the packages.
“These are for you.”
Yan Liu: “???”
What does this mean?
Has the legendary scumbag Alpha suddenly changed the script and decided to keep me as her gilded cage pet?
What did she buy? A bag? Clothes? A necklace? Or something else entirely?
Yan Liu pressed herself against the wall, her face a mask of refusal.
