Omega Taming the Black Moonlight - Chapter 12
In Yan Liu’s mind, Ji Yilian had always been an aloof and unyielding ice block, incapable of being warmed.
She would accept the Original Host’s kindness without ever making any promises or offering any reciprocation.
This was Yan Liu’s initial perception of Ji Yilian.
Black moonlight never cared about others’ opinions.
Brightness wasn’t necessarily their purpose.
Simply hanging in the sky, appearing punctually each night, and savoring the quiet solitude of the dark night was enough for the black moonlight.
Why would celestial beings care about the thoughts of mere plants and trees on the ground?
Yet today, Ji Yilian shattered Yan Liu’s preconceived notions.
She brazenly entered Yan Liu’s home, refusing to leave even when asked, and began arranging Yan Liu’s future life with an air of taking full responsibility for her studies and life.
“There’s no room for you to stay here,” Yan Liu said, refusing to yield easily, her lips pressed into a firm line.
Though the place was dilapidated and isolated, it was perfect for her, a newcomer to this Small World still adjusting to her surroundings.
She needed some quiet time to regain her composure and remind herself of her mission.
Playing the role of someone trying to win someone over was exhausting. Without any time alone to rest, she had to maintain the act constantly.
She might not be able to do it.
Just like now, rationally she knew Ji Yilian had deliberately created this private moment, and she should seize the opportunity to slowly gain her favor and close the distance between them.
But emotionally, she felt utterly repulsed.
Even though Ji Yilian was undeniably a dazzling beauty, standing there as if her very breath came from the heavens, untouched by earthly concerns, and so ethereally lovely she seemed almost divine.
Yan Liu realized for the first time that she wasn’t a “face person.”
At least, when it came to someone she liked, she never judged whether to invest her feelings based on their appearance.
“Yan Liu, you can’t drive me away.”
Seeing Yan Liu hadn’t even touched the gifts she’d bought, Ji Yilian walked over and began unpacking the packages herself.
“Making life-altering decisions out of spite is ridiculous.”
The S-Rank Alpha suddenly dropped this profound statement.
“Ah, stop talking! I’m not listening!”
Yan Liu covered her ears, feeling like she was being subjected to some brainwashing life philosophy.
So resistant.
She retreated to a corner far from Ji Yilian, dragging a chair over and glaring at her with wide, almond-shaped eyes, like a wary kitten watching its surroundings.
One package was opened, the box fully unfolded, revealing its contents.
Yan Liu glanced at it curiously.
It was a brand-new Smart Brain.
Pink and remarkably compact.
Ji Yilian completely disassembled the Smart Brain, walked over, and handed it to Yan Liu.
“Bind it. Identity authentication.”
She always spoke as if giving orders!
Yan Liu turned her head away. “No.”
She hated being controlled.
I’m the one winning over Ji Yilian, she thought. Not the other way around. The power dynamic needs to be clear.
Otherwise, things would feel out of control, making her uneasy and insecure.
Without a word, Ji Yilian leaned down, grasped Yan Liu’s slender arm, and lifted her wrist.
At that moment, Yan Liu’s eyes widened, but she couldn’t move.
She realized she had lost control of her body!
An invisible force seemed to bind her, rendering her immobile. She could only helplessly watch as Ji Yilian took her hand and fastened the Smart Brain onto her wrist.
The pink wristband looked like a ribbon on a gift, as if Yan Liu herself had become the present!
The thought made her even more indignant.
“What would people say if they knew you, Ji Yilian, had secretly left the competition to stay at an Omega’s house in this old district, and were forcing her to wear a Smart Brain you bought?”
Furious, she couldn’t control her body, but she could still use her mouth.
Yan Liu couldn’t help but protest.
But Ji Yilian was clearly used to this version of Yan Liu—like a stubborn rose, whose thorns would prick you the moment you reached out to touch it.
“You’ll get used to being pricked,” Ji Yilian said calmly. “What controls you is your Spiritual Power. If you learn to manipulate your own Spiritual Power, you could do the same to me.”
When Ji Yilian’s fingers touched Yan Liu’s arm, she paused slightly.
The girl is too thin.
After helping Yan Liu verify her vital signs and collect the necessary information until the Smart Brain binding was successful, Ji Yilian spoke again.
“Don’t borrow someone else’s Smart Brain again.”
Yan Liu let Ji Yilian manipulate her like a broken doll, but her eyes remained lively as a fawn’s. Her red lips parted to retort.
“Don’t think that just because you’re being nice to me now, doing a few things for me, I’ll go back to how I used to be.”
A trick! All this concern and kindness Ji Yilian is showing me now must be a trick!
It’s just a short-term investment from her NPD, a ploy to trap me!
Yan Liu simply couldn’t believe Ji Yilian would have such good intentions.
Suddenly, her chin was gently pinched, forcing her gaze upward to meet Ji Yilian’s eyes.
“Yan Liu, is this what you consider being nice to you?”
Ji Yilian spoke calmly, her voice betraying neither joy nor anger, mirroring her own emotionally detached nature. Her expression remained utterly impassive, revealing no hint of inner turmoil.
Yan Liu choked on her words, quickly recovering. “That’s because you were never kind to me before. You only accepted my affection without ever returning it, treating me with indifference.”
Even an outsider reading the script of their past Small World would likely feel a pang of reproach toward Ji Yilian. How could anyone treat their childhood sweetheart’s sincere devotion with such casual disregard?
The affections of youth should never be taken lightly. A living, breathing person who poured their heart into you deserved to be cherished.
Unfair.
Perhaps it was Yan Liu’s wounded gaze, brimming with accusation, that moved Ji Yilian. Even though her Spiritual Power pinned Yan Liu’s body, rendering her immobile, those lively almond-shaped eyes conveyed her emotions clearly:
You weren’t kind enough to me. Now it’s too late!
Ji Yilian, a woman so emotionally reserved, suddenly felt an urge to laugh.
For some reason, she couldn’t help but smile, a relaxed and genuine smile.
“Yan Liu,” she said, instinctively following her mood and gently pinching the girl’s cheek. “You’re too thin. You need to eat more. You look so pale and pitiful.”
Yan Liu could barely interpret the first half of the sentence as concern.
But the second half! What did she mean by “pale and pitiful”?
Aaaah! Was she some stray cat or dog on the street, unwanted, that Ji Yilian had taken pity on and brought home on a whim?
No, no, no! This house was left to her by her parents. Theoretically, it belonged to Yan Liu.
So, Ji Yilian had unilaterally decided Yan Liu was pitiful, chased after her, and insisted on living under the same roof, claiming she needed to supervise her studies and help her prepare for remedial exams.
She even used her Spiritual Power to suppress Yan Liu, preventing her from moving or refusing.
She’s clearly a scumbag Alpha! How could she do this?!
Just as Ji Yilian released her Spiritual Power, ceasing to suppress the Omega before her, the girl, who had been glaring at her with teary eyes, suddenly leaned in.
Ji Yilian’s heart skipped a beat.
The petite, delicate Omega, who had always been so docile and quiet, suddenly transformed into an enraged kitten, sinking her teeth into Ji Yilian’s neck.
Ji Yilian’s hands, which had been hanging at her sides, clenched into fists. She suppressed her instinctive physical reaction, refusing to retaliate or push the girl away, lest she harm the fragile Omega.
It took considerable effort for Ji Yilian to restrain her Alpha’s reflexive response.
The neck is one of the body’s most vulnerable and sensitive areas.
In the face of danger, her body would instinctively react to prevent any potential threats from approaching.
But Yan Liu clearly didn’t fall into this category of “dangerous factors.”
Having only awakened her Spirit Body today, the Omega seemed unaware that such an action would ignite an Alpha’s hunting instincts.
Yan Liu’s sharp teeth left two small marks on Ji Yilian’s neck, and the girl even seemed proud and triumphant.
As she straightened up, her lips pursed, her eyes held a defiant glint.
“Here’s your payback.”
Who told Ji Yilian to bite me the moment she walked in?
Ji Yilian’s brow twitched, ignoring the girl’s earlier retaliation and instead focusing on the underlying logic of her words.
“What do you mean?” Ji Yilian leaned closer, her gaze piercing into Yan Liu’s eyes, urging her to speak the truth. “Do you have to retaliate in kind for everything others do to you?”
Yan Liu answered without hesitation, “Of course!” She was no bl00d bag, no pushover. She would definitely repay every wrong.
But to Ji Yilian’s ears, the girl’s words carried a different meaning.
“No.” The Alpha’s voice suddenly turned cold, as if suppressing a simmering displeasure.
What if it were a marking?
If someone tried to mark Yan Liu, would she retaliate in kind?
When an S-Class Alpha grew angry, the very air in the room seemed to crackle with a storm, the oppressive atmosphere making it impossible to move.
Once again, Ji Yilian’s invisible Spiritual Power pinned Yan Liu in place.
A sudden unease crept into the girl’s heart. Staring at Ji Yilian’s face so close, her eyes rimmed with red.
“Mind your own business,” Yan Liu snapped. “All you do is bully people with your Spiritual Power.”
Scumbag Alpha, ultimate scumbag Alpha, black moonlight ultimate scumbag Alpha!
