Omega Taming the Black Moonlight - Chapter 23
With Ji Yilian’s reflexes, she could have easily dodged the attack.
But she only paused slightly, then deliberately relaxed her muscles, feigning surprise.
And so, our little crab Yan Liu successfully landed her attack!
Her cherry-red lips looked soft and adorable, but when they bit, they showed no mercy.
Ji Yilian’s exquisitely refined face, which others considered unattainable, was now firmly clamped between the teeth of the girl perched on her shoulder.
Omegas exuded a natural fragrance, their lips soft and yielding. Even after training and sweating, their intoxicating aroma remained utterly captivating.
When Ji Yilian realized what she was thinking, she had to admit to herself: she was a pervert.
The pain from the bite on her cheek did nothing to diminish her enjoyment of the moment.
She didn’t feel attacked at all; instead, it felt like a playful game, full of warmth and intimacy.
Yan Liu made her want to lower her guard and reveal more of her true self.
“Mmm. That stings a little.”
But Ji Yilian knew when to stop. She promptly voiced her cooperation, playing along with Yan Liu.
Yan Liu, like a stubborn little monster, gently but firmly bit down. Hearing Ji Yilian hiss in pain, she felt she had finally evened the score.
“Aren’t you going to put me down?”
Yan Liu’s almond-shaped eyes sparkled, but beneath the surface lay a hint of smug pride at her successful counterattack.
She wasn’t some soft, spineless pushover who could be molded and manipulated at will.
Ji Yilian silently relented, bending at the waist to set Yan Liu gently on the ground.
Ah, the feeling of freedom was wonderful.
Her stomach had been pressed uncomfortably against Ji Yilian’s body.
Yan Liu took a couple of deep breaths, straightened up, and tilted her chin defiantly as she glared at Ji Yilian.
“Hmph, this was just a small lesson. Next time you do something strange without my permission, I’ll make sure we both go down together!”
The girl’s earnest attempt at intimidation was unexpectedly endearing.
Her soft, rosy lips and delicate, petite face, combined with her malnourished appearance, made her look like an underdeveloped white cabbage.
Who could possibly stay angry at such an adorable little cabbage?
Ji Yilian narrowed her phoenix eyes, exerting considerable restraint to conceal her true emotions from the girl.
Yan Liu was easily angered and prone to explosive outbursts. Ji Yilian had gradually learned that she occasionally needed to feign weakness to appease the girl, lest she push her to the breaking point.
Ji Yilian cared little about others and had never been concerned with their opinions.
But she couldn’t bear to see Yan Liu so furious.
So Ji Yilian raised her hand and wiped her right cheek.
There was a small tooth mark there, and her fingertips brushed against saliva.
A strange thought flashed through Ji Yilian’s mind: she wanted to smell the Omega’s saliva to see if it was as fragrant as her pheromones.
Barely managing to restrain herself, she avoided acting on this impulse, knowing it would likely send Yan Liu into another rage.
Yan Liu studied Ji Yilian for a moment. Seeing that the Alpha hadn’t flown into a fit of anger but had instead calmed down, she felt a surge of triumph.
See! Just as I thought! You have to strike back immediately against these scummy Alpha women!
Got bitten, huh? Hmph, bet you regret treating me that way now, don’t you?
Yan Liu was so pleased that her rows of pearly white teeth clacked together with a crisp sound.
She wanted to give herself a mental high-five for having such good teeth.
While basking in this smug satisfaction, Yan Liu didn’t forget to observe Ji Yilian’s current reaction.
Then she noticed Ji Yilian remained completely calm, her eyes lowered, concealing the emotions within. Could it be that her counterattack had genuinely stunned her?
“Shall we go back now?” Ji Yilian asked, her expression unchanged.
Yan Liu cautiously glanced at her face.
“Why are you so insistent on coming home with me? My place is so small, it’s completely unsuitable for you to stay.”
“Besides… have you forgotten? You’re an Alpha, prone to pheromone surges. How can I feel safe being alone in a room with someone so dangerous?”
Realizing negotiation was possible, Yan Liu seized the opportunity.
“In just two days with you, I’ve ended up covered in bruises, aching everywhere, and nearly been assaulted—attacked with your pheromones and Spiritual Power. Ji Yilian, if it weren’t for our past connection, I would have already pressed the alarm.”
The delicate-featured Omega spoke with a mix of truth and exaggeration.
Ji Yilian studied her for a moment. “What do you want?”
Yan Liu nearly wagged her tail, secretly delighted that negotiation was working, but maintained a composed facade as she replied.
“I want to protect my rights.”
Ji Yilian’s deep black eyes were utterly devoid of emotion.
“Go on,” she said calmly, picking up Yan Liu’s thread as if she were perfectly composed—almost as if a negotiation were possible.
Yan Liu pressed her lips together and raised one finger. “Three conditions!”
Realizing that one finger wasn’t enough, she quickly added two more.
“From now on, you can’t cross the warning line. You and I must maintain a certain distance. Can you do that? If not, you’re not coming home with me.”
“Hmph! Don’t think you can scare me like before. I’m serious this time. If you don’t agree to my three conditions, I’ll… I’ll fight you to the bitter end!”
As she spoke, Yan Liu’s resolve was genuine, her small fists clenched tightly.
She had expected Ji Yilian to argue and drag things out, but to her surprise, the usually stubborn woman simply nodded.
“Agreed.”
“Huh?” Ji Yilian agreed so easily?
Yan Liu was momentarily stunned, her cat-like almond eyes widening in disbelief. She stared at Ji Yilian with wary suspicion, wondering if the other woman had truly understood her conditions.
“I’m setting three rules for you,” Yan Liu said, “maintaining a safe distance is just one of them. Are you sure you understand and really want to agree?”
“Breaking a promise like this would make you worse than a stray dog,” Ji Yilian replied.
Ji Yilian watched Yan Liu’s rosy lips move as she spoke, suppressing a smile. Yan Liu genuinely seemed to regard her as a monstrous threat.
If Ji Yilian truly wanted to act, this fragile Omega would have no means of defense. Yet she found herself drawn to the girl’s defiant stance, the way she carried herself with an almost arrogant pride, as if she had some hidden advantage.
Yan Liu’s almond eyes would widen in anger and narrow in joy. When furious, she would even bite Ji Yilian, adding a splash of vibrant color to this otherwise monochrome world.
“What other conditions do you have? Take your time. I’ve agreed, and I won’t go back on my word,” Ji Yilian said slowly, offering Yan Liu a reassuring promise.
Yan Liu immediately replied, “Then don’t come home with me. Keep your distance.”
“No,” Ji Yilian countered.
The girl frowned slightly. “Didn’t you say you wouldn’t go back on your word?”
Ji Yilian smiled leisurely. “It depends on what it is.”
Yan Liu suddenly grasped the inherent baseness of a scumbag Alpha. Their so-called principles were merely toys to amuse themselves with when in a good mood. The moment they grew displeased or unwilling, they would tear those principles apart without hesitation, wielding their superior power.
Rain began to fall outside.
Yan Liu’s impression of Ji Yilian plummeted further.
Once I’ve gained Ji Yilian’s favor and successfully completed the conquest, I’ll leave this world without a second glance.
