Omega Taming the Black Moonlight - Chapter 46
Ji Yilian was completely unprepared.
At least, she lacked the experience to handle Yan Liu’s current demeanor.
The girl who had always been so competitive with her now spoke in a soft voice, her bright almond eyes gazing at Ji Yilian with an almost childlike dependence.
The croissant, dipped in cream, looked particularly delicious in Yan Liu’s hand. Ji Yilian could even smell its sweet aroma.
“Eat,” Yan Liu urged softly, her almond eyes blinking.
She looked every bit the quintessential “sweet girl,” with her smooth, long hair tied up today, revealing a full, flawless forehead and almond eyes as clear and innocent as a forest fawn. Her freshness was utterly captivating.
Ji Yilian was bewitched.
As if possessed, she opened her lips and took a bite.
When her rationality returned, she took the croissant from Yan Liu’s hand.
“I’ll do it myself.”
She wasn’t used to being fed like a pampered child who couldn’t even tell rice from wheat.
Yet, strangely, she hadn’t disliked the experience.
At least, when Yan Liu did it, she felt no resistance.
Despite her fastidious, almost obsessive pickiness with others, she always seemed to forget it around Yan Liu.
The croissant was gone, and Ji Yilian hadn’t even tasted it properly.
Her mind was filled with images of the girl’s soft fingers, bright eyes, and radiant smile.
For some reason, Yan Liu was being unusually attentive and affectionate toward her today.
After Ji Yilian finished a croissant, Yan Liu picked up another pancake and brought it to her lips.
“Eat more. I already had breakfast, so I’m not hungry,” Yan Liu said, adding a charming smile.
She seemed to have realized that Ji Yilian was helpless against her affectionate advances.
The Great Scumbag A, whom Yan Liu had been wary of from the start, sometimes acted like an easily coaxed child, obediently doing whatever she was asked.
This contrast was strangely amusing.
Yan Liu quietly observed Ji Yilian, even developing a playful curiosity.
The pancake was right at her lips, but Ji Yilian wasn’t hungry anymore.
She rarely ate regular meals, preferring to consume nutrient solutions directly.
One vial of nutrient solution provided enough energy for the entire day, making fresh food like this time-consuming and unnecessary.
After all, eating slowly and digesting properly was a waste of time.
Yet Yan Liu held the pancake out, her bright, gentle almond eyes sparkling with anticipation as she gazed at Ji Yilian.
Ji Yilian found herself completely unable to refuse.
She suspected Yan Liu was casting some kind of spell on her again.
Even as these thoughts raced through her mind, Ji Yilian’s body had already made the decision for her. She leaned slightly forward, cooperating with the girl’s gesture, and took another bite of the pancake.
Yan Liu sat obediently beside her, watching Ji Yilian with rapt attention, as if observing a panda cub slowly munching on bamboo at the zoo.
“Thank you for making breakfast for me,” Ji Yilian said. “You don’t need to prepare it next time. I can handle it myself.”
When Yan Liu spoke so politely and gently, her charm was simply irresistible.
Ji Yilian let out a soft “Mmm.”
Yan Liu realized that Ji Yilian truly resembled a delicate, handcrafted doll.
She had the air of someone who was deeply abstinent.
Her skin was exceptionally pale, like fine porcelain, and her eyelashes were remarkably long, with a subtle curl at the tips.
Her eyes were slender and almond-shaped, with double eyelids. Even when she wasn’t speaking, her eyes were lively, radiating her aloof aura.
Most people wouldn’t dare approach Ji Yilian easily.
She exuded an aura that warned strangers to keep their distance. Even before she spoke, just looking at her face and meeting those phoenix eyes, one instinctively knew they would be rejected.
Yet Yan Liu, thus far, seemed to have never experienced Ji Yilian’s rejection.
Seized by a playful impulse, Yan Liu noticed how obedient Ji Yilian was being.
She quietly reached for the food on the table. Just as Ji Yilian finished one pancake, Yan Liu lifted another, smiling as she offered it.
“There’s more.”
This time, Ji Yilian paused.
She looked silently at the pancake in Yan Liu’s hand, remembering the food she had just stuffed into her stomach. The feeling of fullness made it impossible for her to even open her mouth.
“We can’t waste food,” Yan Liu said softly, deliberately softening her voice. She had slowly realized that Ji Yilian liked it when she spoke in a gentle tone.
How could Ji Yilian have such a personality?
The Ji Yilian she knew now was completely different from what she had expected before meeting her. It was almost like two different people.
Yan Liu could see that Ji Yilian was choking a little, but when she offered the food again, all it took was a few soft words and gentle coaxing.
The other woman would obediently accept the offering.
Though taciturn, Ji Yilian was remarkably obedient.
Seized by a playful mood, Yan Liu even forgot that it was the day of the competition. She was too busy teasing Ji Yilian, watching her reactions with amusement.
It felt like—you thought the big cat from the jungle was a man-eating tiger, the ferocious and majestic king of beasts.
But when you pulled out a cat teaser and waved it slightly, that same big cat, who roared through the mountains with all the dignity of the king of beasts, instantly collapsed at your feet, rolling over to expose its soft, fluffy belly for you to pet as you pleased.
Yan Liu had seen this side of Ji Yilian far too rarely.
Seeing Ji Yilian pause, Yan Liu, still smiling, watched her dryly reach for a third pancake.
Yan Liu’s conscience finally stirred.
“Alright, that’s enough. Won’t your stomach feel bloated and uncomfortable if you eat too many?”
Having set aside her playful mood, Yan Liu’s concern for Ji Yilian now came from the heart.
But this genuine care was only sparked after Ji Yilian had devoured three pancakes she had fed her in one go.
Ji Yilian’s long, delicate eyelashes fluttered twice as she pressed her lips together.
“Mm. I’m fine.”
Seeing Yan Liu’s small hand finally stop offering pancakes, Ji Yilian felt like she had been granted a reprieve. She secretly exhaled in relief, though her expression remained perfectly composed.
Her emotional control was impeccable; an ordinary person would never detect the turmoil beneath her calm facade.
But inwardly, Ji Yilian swore fiercely:
I absolutely hate pancakes.
The woman silently resolved to banish such food from her dining table forever.
Unable to direct her anger at Yan Liu, she channeled it toward the food—a blatant double standard.
Yet at that moment, she remained blissfully unaware of her hypocrisy.
As the aircraft landed, Yan Liu bounded down the ladder with renewed energy, standing on the ground and gazing around the Academy with a refreshed spirit.
Ji Yilian, unusually lagging behind, descended slowly behind her.
Though she still dismounted from the aircraft with her usual agility, landing with a graceful lightness, Ji Yilian instinctively clutched her stomach.
The sensation of being overly full was a rare occurrence in her nineteen years of life, almost unheard of.
“What’s wrong?” Yan Liu asked, turning to see Ji Yilian pressing her hand against her abdomen.
Ji Yilian silently removed her hand. “Nothing.”
Her pride ran deep in Yan Liu’s presence, making her unwilling to show any weakness.
Yan Liu couldn’t help but chuckle at Ji Yilian’s forced composure. “Alright, alright. It was my fault this time. I shouldn’t have fed you so much. You could have just told me! Why did you just keep eating whatever I gave you like a silly goose?”
Yan Liu rarely spoke to Ji Yilian in such a gentle, friendly tone, without a hint of hostility.
The weather was exceptionally fine that day. Golden sunlight bathed the girl’s face, her slightly curled hair framing her radiant smile. Her red lips, curved in a smile, looked particularly lush and vibrant.
Her bright eyes sparkled as she laughed, her pearly teeth gleaming.
Ji Yilian stared at the girl, the tips of her ears slowly turning red.
In the distance, Bess watched the scene unfold, her eyes widening in surprise.
Holy moly, Little Sweet O is really something! Looks like she’s actually won Ji Yilian over.
