Omega Taming the Black Moonlight - Chapter 58
The heart is something that cannot be suppressed by brute force.
The more Ji Yilian tried to suppress her longing for Yan Liu, the stronger it rebounded.
By this time, Yan Liu should have been awake.
Ji Yilian couldn’t help but wonder what the girl had eaten for breakfast and what she was doing now.
Driven by an impulse, she glanced at her Smart Brain.
No messages.
Yan Liu hadn’t sent any messages.
This left Ji Yilian with no reason to contact her first, especially after yesterday’s internal struggle.
Lost in thought, Ji Yilian didn’t even bother to look at what the Mu Mao Healer actually looked like.
Until a sudden exclamation reached her ears.
“Wow, Lord Mu Mao’s Mecha Butler’s Second Form is so imposing! I didn’t realize it yesterday.”
“No wonder he’s the most powerful S-Class Healer. To possess such a Bionic Mecha Butler—its combat form is so cool!”
“I heard there are fewer than twenty of these Bionic Mecha Butlers on the market. Even the Royal Family can’t buy them with money alone. They require official Alliance certification, proving potential benefit to the entire Alliance and achieving a certain evaluation score before being awarded such a Mecha Butler.”
The assistant beside her chattered excitedly, watching Yan Liu and the Mecha Butler approach from afar, her voice brimming with envy and pride.
Ever since they had been assigned to Yan Liu, their future performance had become inextricably linked to her success.
Becoming an assistant to an S-Class Healer required passing numerous rigorous trials and demonstrating exceptional professional competence before even being eligible to apply.
This was a viable career advancement path for ordinary Omegas and Betas.
In fact, even some High-Ranking Alphas with damaged Spiritual Bodies but lacking connections would compete for these positions, serving as protectors in exchange for the opportunity to receive healing from the Healer they served.
Ji Yilian snapped out of her daze and looked up at the approaching figures.
A Bionic Mecha Butler?
Her gaze involuntarily drifted to the figure perched on the Mecha Butler’s arm—the Mu Mao Healer.
The Healer was wearing a mask, and she couldn’t sense any of his physiological data.
Clearly, the mask was a specialized device designed to conceal physiological characteristics.
Yet for some inexplicable reason, despite never having met this person before, Ji Yilian felt an overwhelming sense of familiarity the moment she laid eyes on him.
Ji Yilian attempted to use her Spiritual Power to sense the person behind the mask, but she instantly realized her mistake and withdrew her power.
In that fleeting moment, Instructor Green Silk, standing beside her, sensed that her disciple had dared to probe Lord Mu Mao with her Spiritual Power.
Green Silk’s heart leaped with anxiety. She turned and glared at Ji Yilian.
Have you lost your mind?
Using Spiritual Power to probe someone of higher status was a grave taboo.
Faced with Green Silk’s glare, Ji Yilian lowered her eyes, offering no response.
She felt a pang of regret. I would never normally do something like this.
After all, what did it matter what someone looked like behind a mask? Whether they were beautiful or plain, she wasn’t the type to be consumed by such curiosity.
Yet, she had acted impulsively, without thinking.
Behind the mask, Yan Liu’s lips curved slightly. She patted Little Nugget’s arm, signaling him to put her down.
That entrance had quite the impact.
“Are you two the clients scheduled for treatment today?”
Her gaze lingered on Ji Yilian for an extra second as she addressed both her and Instructor Green Silk.
Yan Liu’s natural voice was soft and delicate, almost girlish, lacking any aggression and easily triggering protective instincts in others.
But after donning the mask that concealed all her physical features, her voice transformed in others’ ears into the mature, composed tone of a commanding older sister—icy, authoritative, and inherently dignified.
Hearing this voice, Ji Yilian mentally dismissed her earlier suspicion that she might know the person behind the mask.
Instructor Green Silk forced a smile and spoke proactively.
“Yes, Lord Mu Mao, this is my student. We are both Alphas who have fought in the Abyss. As you know, when a Spiritual Body is damaged beyond a certain point, even with ample strength, one is no longer permitted to fight. Only an S-Class Healer like yourself can truly help us.”
Ji Yilian stood beside them, stunned.
She had never imagined this side of her mentor.
Having grown accustomed to seeing Instructor Green Silk treat everyone at Tianyi Academy with a hint of arrogance, even disdain, Ji Yilian was taken aback by the mentor’s sudden flow of flattering words.
Yan Liu remained silent for a moment.
She had long known that her identity as an S-Class Healer would bring her immense prestige.
Yan Liu had never imagined that Instructor Green Silk, who wouldn’t even glance at her when she appeared as her true self, would become so… enthusiastic when she presented herself as the “Mu Mao Healer.”
The change was like night and day.
Yan Liu instinctively took a step forward, wanting to avoid further conversation that might reveal her true identity.
“Very well, I understand your situations. Please proceed to your respective Healing Rooms. I will come to heal you according to the scheduled times.”
She spoke coolly, even tilting her chin slightly to project an air of haughtiness.
Yet this gesture, far from appearing arrogant to the others, seemed perfectly natural.
It would have been stranger if an S-Rank Healer were overly approachable.
Those with true power were always entitled to a bit of personal eccentricity and temperament.
The female assistant Yan Liu had instructed the previous day stepped forward and addressed the two women.
“Madam Ji Yilian, please follow me.”
Another male Beta spoke up as well.
“Madam Green Silk, please come this way.”
Green Silk glanced at Ji Yilian. “Make sure to cooperate fully with Lord Mu Mao later.”
She was worried her disciple might cause trouble at a crucial moment, wasting this rare healing opportunity.
They were incredibly fortunate to have secured an appointment with an S-Rank Healer so quickly.
Ji Yilian remained silent, her gaze lowered slightly, long lashes veiling the emotions deep within her eyes.
No one could discern what she was thinking.
After the two women followed the assistants to different floors, and Yan Liu had also gone upstairs, one of the remaining assistants in the lobby remarked:
“That S-Rank Alpha was so cold.”
This was clearly meant as a slight against Yan Liu.
In the Healer market, S-Rank Healers were always in high demand, causing the usual social hierarchy between Omegas and Alphas to be reversed in such situations.
“Let me tell you, don’t let that Alpha’s cold demeanor fool you. Once she realizes how formidable our Lord Mu Mao is, she’ll be begging for healing sessions. I’ve heard countless stories like this before.”
“Otherwise, why do you think S-Class Healers hold such high status?”
“Their existence is irreplaceable by medical technology.”
As the assistants spoke, their voices were solemn, even more confident than Yan Liu’s.
But in reality, when Yan Liu reached her office floor, she paced back and forth several times before bouncing over to Little Nugget and asking uncertainly, “Little Nugget, how did I do just now?”
She wasn’t suited for such ostentatious displays and worried she might have overdone it.
Little Nugget had reverted to its original form as an Intelligent Butler. Its mechanical arms swung as it gave Yan Liu a thumbs-up.
“Master was absolutely brilliant! Everyone’s physiological hormones surged the moment you appeared. They envied you, admired you, respected you, and yearned for you!”
Little Nugget rattled off a series of parallel clauses, making Yan Liu blush but also feel more reassured.
“What about… Ji Yilian?” Yan Liu couldn’t help but ask.
In truth, she cared most about Ji Yilian’s reaction.
To maintain her composure, Yan Liu hadn’t even glanced at Ji Yilian, not wanting to appear too deliberate.
“She’s the young woman with long black hair, standing at the back. The one who didn’t smile.”
Yan Liu even provided detailed descriptions of Ji Yilian’s features.
Little Nugget recalled the scene and could only answer truthfully.
“Her physiological indicators remained remarkably stable, with minimal fluctuations.”
In other words, Ji Yilian hadn’t been impressed by Yan Liu’s grand entrance.
Little Nugget’s tone turned self-reproachful, as if it had failed to leave a “badass” impression on everyone present.
Seeing Little Nugget hang its head in remorse, Yan Liu hurriedly reassured it.
“It’s okay, Little Nugget! We did great! She’s just… she’s just not easily influenced by external factors.”
Yan Liu felt a pang of guilt as she said this.
Memories flashed through her mind of Ji Yilian’s pheromones spiraling out of control because of her.
Every time Ji Yilian’s pheromones had gone haywire, it had been because of Yan Liu.
Ten minutes later, Yan Liu chose to visit Ji Yilian’s floor first.
Each floor was equipped with ample facilities, including Medical Pods, Repair Pods, and other amenities for guests to rest comfortably.
Ji Yilian stood by the window, gazing outside. Her slender silhouette exuded an inexplicable air of desolation.
Yan Liu pursed her lips, her delicate features wrinkling behind her mask.
Desolation? What a joke.
She hasn’t messaged me all night and this morning. She’s clearly a total Scumbag A.
Hit and run, irresponsible, villain, philandering ghost…
The young woman, who had debuted as the S-Class Healer, outwardly projected an aura of unwavering confidence, commanding the respect of all as Lord Mu Mao.
Yet beneath the mask, as she gazed at Ji Yilian, she was just a slightly aggrieved little girl.
I’m so mad.
What if I suddenly don’t want to heal her Spiritual Body anymore?
As Yan Liu glared silently at Ji Yilian, the latter turned and walked calmly toward her.
“I apologize, but I won’t be accepting Healing. Please offer this opportunity to my Mentor instead.”
Ji Yilian’s eyes were deep and serene, her face slightly pale beneath her dark hair, yet her beauty remained undiminished.
Her words completely derailed Yan Liu’s carefully prepared opening remarks.
Yan Liu couldn’t help but blurt out, “You’re not going to get healed? Why?”
Ugh, how infuriating!
She had been fully prepared, eagerly anticipating Ji Yilian humbling herself to beg for healing, so she could finally put on airs and vent her frustration.
But now, Ji Yilian was refusing the healing altogether!
How infuriating!
Ji Yilian met her gaze, her red lips curving slightly.
“I’ve heard that when an Alpha receives healing from a Spiritual Body, their Spiritual Power resonates with the healer’s. I don’t like that method.”
She had no desire to develop inexplicable feelings of closeness or dependence toward someone simply because of Spiritual Power resonance during healing.
Yet as she spoke, Ji Yilian couldn’t help but picture a certain Omega’s pouting face.
If it were Yan Liu, would she still refuse?
