- Chapter 16 - Huo Jingtian’s Loyal Fangirl
Ning Xin’er: “……”
You can eat recklessly, but you can’t speak recklessly.
Ning Xin’er glanced at Huo Jingtian and teased him, “Your beloved brother?”
Huo Jingtian was stunned.
What beloved brother? He was a straight man, okay!
Suddenly, he noticed that Ning Xin’er’s expression was a bit unhappy. It seemed he had misunderstood.
Xin’er didn’t have a boyfriend.
Thinking of this, Huo Jingtian immediately felt relieved.
“My mistake. But when did you get a brother?”
He only knew that Ning Xin’er’s mother remarried, but he never heard about her having a brother. “Could it be your stepfather’s…”
“No, my stepfather doesn’t have children. I met my cousin.” Ning Xin’er raised an eyebrow, “I got him for free, you know?”
Huo Jingtian understood. So that’s how it was.
“As long as you’re okay.” Huo Jingtian suddenly put a hand on her shoulder.
Just then, a soft voice came from a distance. “Ah Jing, why are you here? Didn’t you say you were busy?”
Qiao Shan walked over, frowning slightly as she looked at Huo Jingtian.
The moment Huo Jingtian saw her, he quickly withdrew his hand, looking guilty, as if he had been caught doing something wrong.
Ning Xin’er chuckled softly and said to both of them, “You two talk. I’m heading back to the dorm.”
***
When Ning Xin’er returned to the dorm, Zeng Yi immediately jumped down from her bed and ran into her arms.
Zeng Yi clung to her desperately, “Miss Ning, you’re finally back! I was so scared.”
She hadn’t been able to sleep ever since she returned to the dorm.
She kept worrying—was Ning Xin’er taken away by a bad guy? Did she meet an enemy…?
She imagined every dramatic scenario she had read in martial arts novels!
“It’s okay, don’t worry. I’m fine.” Ning Xin’er patted Zeng Yi’s back to comfort her. “I just met my cousin.”
“Cousin? Since when did you have a cousin?” Zeng Yi looked confused.
They were best friends, and Zeng Yi knew almost everything about Ning Xin’er—except this cousin.
Ning Xin’er gently pushed Zeng Yi away and smiled. “Wait a moment.”
She opened her suitcase, found a box of wedding candies, and took out a specially wrapped one for Zeng Yi.
“My mom got married, and my cousin is my stepfather’s nephew.” Ning Xin’er shrugged, acting indifferent. “Now, I have a big brother too.”
Zeng Yi widened her eyes. So that’s how it was!
Then she thought of something and grabbed Ning Xin’er’s hand in shock. “Miss Ning, your cousin is so rich!”
“He has so many bodyguards and even drives a luxury car.”
Ning Xin’er froze for a moment. She had forgotten about that.
“He’s rich, but that has nothing to do with my family. My family is just an ordinary middle-class household.”
Ning Xin’er explained casually.
“Oh right, a cousin isn’t a real brother.” Zeng Yi looked at the candy wrapper and smiled happily. “Let’s sleep now. We still have class later.”
Zeng Yi climbed into bed, leaving Ning Xin’er alone.
Ning Xin’er let out a deep breath. Ever since Huo Jinyan showed up, she had been feeling nervous.
She didn’t even get to eat barbecue at lunch, but… the food he brought was actually better!
She shared the wedding candies with her other roommates who weren’t in the dorm and placed them on their desks.
When she woke up from her nap, she still hadn’t seen Qiao Shan come back.
She couldn’t help but recall how Huo Jingtian had placed his hand on her shoulder. Could Qiao Shan be mad at him again?
Did Huo Jingtian spend the whole afternoon calming her?
Ning Xin’er shook her head. Why was she worrying about other people’s relationship problems?
At 3 PM, Ning Xin’er and Zeng Yi went to their class in Building A.
Looking around, Qiao Shan was still absent!
Finally, Friday’s classes ended, and the weekend arrived. In the evening, Ning Xin’er personally walked Zeng Yi to the school gate.
Zeng Yi lived in the neighboring city and usually went home twice a month.
Ning Xin’er envied her. If only she lived that close—unlike herself, who could only go home during holidays.
As she was thinking about whether to go out for dinner, a girl suddenly blocked her path.
“Are you Ning Xin’er?”
The girl’s tone was unfriendly.
Ning Xin’er frowned slightly, hesitating. “And you are?”
Seeing that Ning Xin’er didn’t deny it, the girl took out her phone, compared her to a photo, and sneered. “So, it really is you.”
Ning Xin’er was confused.
What was going on?
Who did she offend?
“I’m telling you, you’ve offended me!” The girl suddenly shouted. Then she pulled out a small bucket from behind and threw it toward Ning Xin’er.
Ning Xin’er’s eyes widened. What was this? Black liquid?
She quickly dodged, but not completely. The black liquid splashed onto her back.
A chilling sensation spread across her body.
Who was this lunatic? Pouring a bucket of ice-cold ink on her!
She turned around in anger and glared at the girl.
But to her surprise, the girl was even more aggressive and immediately started yelling at her.
“You think just because you’re pretty, you can take over our school heartthrob? I’ve had enough of you!”
“If you know what’s good for you, break up with Huo Jingtian! Give our fan club a chance to chase him!”
“If you don’t, we’ll take turns warning you every day.”
The girl was extremely emotional. She was mad because Huo Jingtian only loved Ning Xin’er. He rejected every girl in their fan club and even refused to let them get close to him.
He always warned them, ‘Stay away from me. My girlfriend will get angry.’
That one sentence made the entire fan club resent Ning Xin’er.
What kind of girl was she, to deserve such deep affection from their idol?
“Tell me, are you going to break up or not?” The girl pointed at Ning Xin’er, looking fierce.
Ning Xin’er was furious. “If you like Huo Jingtian, go after him yourself! Why are you coming after me?”
“Hah! You dare call him by name? That proves you don’t love him.”
“He’s so handsome and outstanding. He should be with someone who truly loves him. Any member of our fan club loves him more than you do!”
The girl was gesturing wildly as she spoke.
Ning Xin’er was shocked. Was this really a university student?
She acted more like a patient from a mental hospital!
“Classmate, going crazy over a guy isn’t worth it.” Ning Xin’er tugged at her stained shirt, feeling annoyed.
“How dare you say that about Huo Jingtian?!”
The girl was furious. She grabbed a bag of trash from a nearby bin and threw it at Ning Xin’er.
“You don’t deserve to be with him! Break up now!”
The girl was big and strong. Ning Xin’er tried to dodge, but she still got hit.
Then, the girl charged at her, and they started wrestling.
Ning Xin’er regretted choosing such an empty path. There wasn’t even anyone around to stop the fight!
Sigh, a person can be killed, but not humiliated.
“Fatty, you dare hit me? Don’t blame me for fighting back!”
“You called me fat? I am Huo Jingtian’s most loyal fan! Ahhh—”
And so, a ridiculous fight began.
Ning Xin’er sighed. If only Zeng Yi were here. She could take this girl down with one kick.
Unlike her, who could barely protect herself.
“Stay away from Huo Jingtian! Leave him alone!!”
“You don’t love him enough! Give him to us!!”
