- Chapter 23.2: Sharing a Bed
Fu Chaoying turned back and saw Ye Jiayuan leaning against the chair, her posture relaxed, almost lazy. She crooked a finger at her.
The room was lit only by a warm yellow desk lamp, its soft glow casting over Ye Jiayuan’s face. A faint, elusive smile played at her lips, and her eyes locked onto Fu Chaoying with an intensity that felt almost magnetic.
At this moment, Ye Jiayuan seemed like a goddess luring a mortal—or perhaps a bewitching enchantress.
It was a stark contrast to her usual composed, steady, and meticulous demeanor at work.
Fu Chaoying’s heart trembled. Almost as if entranced, she took a step toward her.
Then she saw Ye Jiayuan extend an arm toward her. Fu Chaoying unconsciously adopted a slightly coquettish tone, her voice lilting upward at the end, “Jiayuan-jie?”
Ye Jiayuan’s hand hovered in the air, palm up, fingers long and slender with distinct knuckles, as if carrying some kind of magic.
Fu Chaoying’s throat moved slightly before she slowly placed her hand into it.
Ye Jiayuan’s palm gently enclosed hers, warm and soft to the touch. Then, with a slight exertion of her arm, she pulled Fu Chaoying gently forward.
Caught off guard, Fu Chaoying stepped forward with the motion, only to suddenly find herself encircled by Ye Jiayuan’s arms around her waist.
The gentle yet undeniable pressure at her waist, combined with Ye Jiayuan’s faint magnolia fragrance, wrapped around her like a delicate web. Her warm breath seemed to penetrate through the thin blouse, merging with the rhythm of Fu Chaoying’s heartbeat.
Every inch of skin where they touched tingled slightly, and Fu Chaoying’s breathing gradually became uneven.
The embrace was light, yet carried an undercurrent of quiet dominance.
Within seconds, she was slowly released.
Had Fu Chaoying not been standing right in front of her, she might have wondered if it had all been a dream.
Ye Jiayuan had already regained her usual composure, as if the person who had just held her waist wasn’t her at all, and asked calmly, “Do you have a spare room at home?”
Fu Chaoying blinked at her, “Does your mother not know you’re back? Don’t you need to go home?”
Ye Jiayuan gave a soft hum, “Didn’t tell them.”
No one knew Ye Jiayuan had returned to Nanyan specifically for her.
Fu Chaoying’s eyes curved into crescents as she nodded lightly, “Plenty of rooms, take your pick.”
Ye Jiayuan didn’t respond, simply watching her quietly.
Fu Chaoying’s heart gave a sudden flutter before she smiled again, “How about the room next to mine, Jiayuan-jie? More… convenient.”
“Convenient…” Ye Jiayuan repeated the word, “Convenient for what?”
Her voice lifted slightly at the end, the corners of her lips seemingly curling into a smile.
Fu Chaoying leaned closer, her tone laced with meaning, “Convenient… for our secret affair.”
Ye Jiayuan’s gaze lingered on the lovely face before her, traveling from those smiling eyes down to settle on the plump, pink curve of her lips.
Just as their breaths mingled and those lips came within reach, Ye Jiayuan’s throat moved—only to be interrupted by the sudden ring of a phone.
Like a thunderclap, it shattered the intimate atmosphere between them.
Fu Chaoying immediately straightened up, putting distance between them as if nothing had happened, breathing steadily to calm her racing heart.
She then went to ask Aunt Wu to prepare the room. When she returned, Ye Jiayuan had finished the call.
Their demeanor was perfectly proper now, as if everything moments ago had been an illusion. They were merely two polite, distantly acquainted friends from interconnected families.
When Aunt Wu heard Ye Jiayuan would be staying, her delight was palpable as she repeatedly invited her to visit more often.
Fu Chaoying exchanged a glance with Ye Jiayuan before casually looking away, “Jiayuan-jie’s work keeps her very busy. She doesn’t have much time to visit.”
Ye Jiayuan tilted her head slightly, offering calmly, “I’m free on weekends.”
“That’s wonderful! Our Xiaoying always stays home on weekends too.”
Fu Chaoying leaned close to whisper in her ear, voice low enough for just the two of them, “You’re free on weekends?”
Ye Jiayuan gave a slight nod, equally quiet as she murmured back, “Every weekend.”
Ye Jiayuan’s warm breath brushed against the shell of her ear, sending a faint tickling sensation.
Fu Chaoying felt a subtle stir in her heart, the corners of her lips lifting as she turned to say she was going back to the bedroom to fetch something.
When she returned, only Ye Jiayuan remained in the room.
Ye Jiayuan glanced at the little bear she had brought over and heard her soft laugh. “Then let it keep you company while you sleep~”
Ye Jiayuan shook her head. “No need.”
As expected, Fu Chaoying looked back at her, a hint of coquetry in her tone. “Alright, then we won’t separate them.”
Ye Jiayuan gave a soft hum, her gaze lingering on Fu Chaoying’s face.
The room fell into silence, with only the sound of their breathing audible. Suddenly, Fu Chaoying took two steps toward her.
Ye Jiayuan watched intently as she approached, her focus unwavering.
Fu Chaoying stopped right in front of her, reached out, and gently tugged twice on her sleeve—
“What about us?”
Fu Chaoying stared straight into her eyes, rose slightly on her tiptoes, and lightly rested her hands on Ye Jiayuan’s shoulders. Her voice was soft, carrying an irresistible allure: “How about… we sleep together too?”
