Peach Blossom Dual Cultivation - Chapter 61: The Temptation of Charm Magic
“Mr. Zhou, our Ye family truly owes you an apology. This time, we sincerely want to make things right. Now that you’re here, why not come inside for a while? I hope you can be a frequent guest of our family in the future,” Ye Tian said, feigning sincerity. He had been planning for this day for a long time, but if Zhou Lang refused to enter the house, it would be difficult to carry out his plan. Therefore, even if he had to humble himself, he had no choice but to endure it.
“Mr. Ye, this is probably the last time we’ll meet. I don’t wish to have any further interactions with your family. I’m here today purely out of respect for the friendship between my grandfather and your father,” Zhou Lang said bluntly, feeling deeply repulsed by both Ye Tian and Ye Qianqian.
“Zhou Lang, I know I’ve wronged you,” Ye Qianqian finally spoke, her voice tinged with tears.
“I’ve reflected a lot these past few days. The situation I’m in now is entirely my fault. It’s all my fault, I deserve it. Whether you decide to see me again or not, whether you step into our home or not, I implore you to come in today and accept my formal apology.”
As she spoke, her eyes shimmered, full of charm and sadness. She appeared both alluring and pitiable. Zhou Lang glanced at her, feeling a sudden stir in his heart.
What’s happening to me? He wondered. Just a moment ago, I despised this woman, but now I feel a bit sorry for her. I’m not the type of person who loses his mind just because of a pretty face.
With a shudder, Zhou Lang quickly realized what was going on. This woman seems to have learned some kind of charm magic recently, capable of influencing people’s minds. As expected, their apology is just a pretense. They’re up to no good.
If it had been the old Zhou Lang, he wouldn’t have understood this and might have fallen for Ye Qianqian’s trick. But ever since he began cultivating with the Dual Cultivation Manual, he had learned about such techniques. Charm magic, like many other mental manipulation methods, was part of a broader category of spiritual control techniques. Those skilled in this craft were known as spirit masters, capable of controlling the minds of others.
“Very well, please lead the way,” Zhou Lang said. Now that he had reached the late stage of Qi Refining, his mind was extraordinarily stable. Ye Qianqian’s charm magic, still in its early stages, posed no threat to him. However, he decided to play along, pretending to be entranced by her and softened his tone.
“Mr. Zhou, this way, please,” Ye Tian said, a barely noticeable smile curling the corners of his mouth. He believed Ye Qianqian’s charm magic had worked because Zhou Lang’s attitude had suddenly shifted.
The Ye family villa was expansive, with lush trees, flowering plants, and even artificial mountains and pavilions, all exuding an air of grandeur. This villa alone was worth tens of millions.
Rich people, indeed, Zhou Lang thought. No wonder they wouldn’t let me in when I first came to Feiyun City.
Back then, he had been just a poor student and an orphan, so it made sense that the Ye family wanted to break off the engagement and didn’t want to see him.
“Mr. Zhou, please have some tea,” Ye Tian said after the three of them entered the guest lounge and sat down by the tea table. He poured Zhou Lang a cup.
“Thank you,” Zhou Lang nodded, but his gaze remained fixed on Ye Qianqian, seemingly entranced.
“Mr. Zhou, why don’t you and my daughter chat for a while? I’ll step out and come back later to invite you for dinner,” Ye Tian said after exchanging a subtle glance with Ye Qianqian. He believed Zhou Lang was already under Ye Qianqian’s spell and no longer mentioned anything about an apology.
“Sure, Mr. Ye, go ahead,” Zhou Lang replied without even looking at Ye Tian. His eyes stayed glued to Ye Qianqian, as if he couldn’t bear to look away, appearing completely bewitched.
Ye Tian stood up and left the lounge, closing the door behind him.
“Brother Lang, are you still angry with me?”
Ye Qianqian asked in a sweet, coquettish voice.
“I was immature before, but I know better now. Please don’t be mad at me, okay?”
Her tone was playful and seductive, and as she spoke, she twisted her body in an alluring manner, resembling an enchanting fox spirit.
This was the effect of charm magic: it could captivate a man’s attention and even control his mind, making him fall for the caster.
“Qianqian, what did you just call me?”
Zhou Lang asked with a slight smile, his eyes furtively glancing at her ample chest. He appeared to be under her spell, completely mesmerized by her charm.
“I called you Brother Lang,” Ye Qianqian replied, standing up and sitting next to Zhou Lang.
“We had an engagement, after all. I told my father that our Ye family still intends to honor the engagement, and I want to marry you—if you’re willing.”
Her voluptuous body pressed against Zhou Lang’s, and she took on a wanton expression. Her eyes sparkled as she gazed at him, full of seductive intent.
“But you tore up our engagement papers,” Zhou Lang reminded her.
“Brother Lang, I know I was wrong. Please don’t hold it against me. As long as you agree, I’ll be your woman,” Ye Qianqian continued coyly, using her charm magic to entice him further.
“You’re willing to be my woman?”
Zhou Lang asked.
“Of course. If you want me, you can have me anytime—even right now, if you like,” Ye Qianqian said, her voice soft and shy. She deliberately unbuttoned two or three buttons on her white casual shirt, revealing her ample chest. Zhou Lang only had to tilt his head slightly to catch a glimpse of her black bra.
Zhou Lang’s breathing grew heavier as he pulled Ye Qianqian into his arms.
“Brother Lang, you’re not mad at me anymore, right?”
Ye Qianqian whispered into his ear, her breath warm and fragrant.
The first step of her and Ye Tian planned to completely charm Zhou Lang. Given his close relationship with General Qin, a single phone call from him would have the Feiyun City media lift the ban on Ye Qianqian, allowing her to return to the spotlight. Moreover, the Ye family could leverage this connection to General Qin, propelling them to new heights of wealth and power.
“Seeing how obedient you are, how could I stay mad at you?”
Zhou Lang said without hesitation. He was fully aware of what tricks Ye Qianqian was playing, but he decided to continue the charade.
“Brother Lang, you’re so good to me,” Ye Qianqian said with feigned joy, kissing him on the cheek.
Disgusting, Zhou Lang thought inwardly, though his face remained neutral.
“It’s getting late. Let’s go eat,” Ye Qianqian said, linking her arm with Zhou Lang’s and pulling him along.
Soon, they entered the dining room, where a lavish meal had already been prepared. Ye Tian and a middle-aged man were seated at the table.
“Mr. Zhou, please, have a seat,” Ye Tian said.
“And who is this?”
Zhou Lang asked, eyeing the middle-aged man, who sported a small mustache and didn’t quite resemble a native.
“This is Yamamoto Hiroichi from Japan, a good friend of mine. He’s an excellent drinker, and I invited him specifically to join us for drinks,” Ye Tian explained.
In reality, Yamamoto Hiroichi was the spirit master Ye Tian had hired. He was the one who had taught Ye Qianqian charm magic. According to Ye Tian’s plan, if Ye Qianqian couldn’t fully charm Zhou Lang, Yamamoto would step in and use his mental control techniques to turn Zhou Lang into a mindless puppet.
