Peach Blossom Dual Cultivation - Chapter 62: Mental Control and Backlash
“Mr. Zhou, hello, it’s an honor to meet you.”
Yamamoto Hiroichi stood up and greeted Zhou Lang. Though this Japanese man spoke fluent Mandarin and appeared quite ordinary, his eyes were strangely captivating and deep, as if galaxies swirled within them. Anyone who met his gaze could easily find themselves lost in their depths.
“Mr. Yamamoto, no need to be so formal. Since you’re a friend of Mr. Ye, you’re a friend of mine,” Zhou Lang replied with a smile.
After he sat down, the meal officially began.
“Brother Lang, I’ve been suffering so much recently,” Ye Qianqian said coyly, sitting next to Zhou Lang.
“I’ve been blacklisted by the city’s publicity department, unable to perform on stage. I’m stuck at home all day—it’s driving me crazy!”
“This wasn’t my doing. But if you’re feeling bored, I can spend more time with you,” Zhou Lang replied, fully aware of Ye Qianqian’s true intentions, but pretending to be oblivious.
“Brother Lang, I’m a singer with artistic aspirations. If I stay idle any longer, all the fame I worked so hard for will disappear. Could you talk to the leaders of the publicity department and ask them to lift the ban on me?”
Ye Qianqian finally revealed her true request.
“Qianqian, weren’t you here to apologize to me? Why are we talking about this now?”
Zhou Lang asked with a slight smile, feigning confusion.
“Brother Lang, haven’t you already forgiven me?”
Ye Qianqian pouted.
“It’s just a small favor I’m asking. It’s not too much, right? If you help me with this, I’ll do anything to serve you however you like.”
The foolish woman began rubbing her ample chest against Zhou Lang again, licking her lips seductively. Her intentions were clear: as long as Zhou Lang agreed to her request, she would immediately sleep with him.
She continued using her charm magic, trying to control Zhou Lang.
“Nie Yuanxiong was sentenced to a re-education camp for a month. He’ll be out soon. Do you want to return to the Glorious Media Company and continue mingling with him? You seem to have forgotten the pain once the wounds healed! You looked down on me, let Nie Yuanxiong tear up our engagement papers, and humiliated me. I’ve been lenient with you by only giving you a minor punishment!”
Zhou Lang said coldly, unable to tolerate Ye Qianqian’s behavior any longer.
His words struck like a hammer. Both Ye Qianqian and Ye Tian’s faces drastically changed. They had believed they had gained control over Zhou Lang, but now it was clear that Zhou had been pretending all along, merely playing along to uncover their full scheme.
Only Yamamoto Hiroichi remained calm, sipping his red wine.
“Mr. Yamamoto!”
Ye Tian quickly turned to Yamamoto, signaling him to take control of Zhou Lang.
They knew that if their plot against Zhou Lang failed, they would become mortal enemies. Given Zhou Lang’s close relationship with General Qin, it wouldn’t just be Ye Qianqian who would remain blacklisted—the entire Ye family’s Zhongtian Group would suffer. In today’s society, even in business, connections are crucial. If the government or military secretly suppressed them, the Zhongtian Group might not survive.
“Zhou Lang, I didn’t expect your mind to be so resilient, unaffected by charm magic. But since you’ve stepped into my trap, you won’t escape my grasp!”
Yamamoto sneered, and the atmosphere in the dining room suddenly turned eerie, like stepping into the underworld. A chilling, terrifying sensation filled the room.
For some inexplicable reason, Zhou Lang found his gaze drawn to Yamamoto and the two locked eyes.
Yamamoto’s eyes began to glow with a strange, bewitching light. Zhou Lang’s mind wavered, and he found himself captivated, unable to look away.
“Zhou Lang, do you wish to be my most loyal servant?”
Yamamoto’s voice echoed like a whisper from the depths of the underworld.
“I… I do,” Zhou Lang’s anger dissipated, and his once clear, bright eyes became vacant. After a brief hesitation, he responded slowly, his tone eerily resembling Yamamoto’s.
“Then sit down. From now on, you will obey Mr. Ye and Miss Ye. Whatever they ask of you, you will do. Not only are you my servant, but you are also their servant. You must never forget this!”
Yamamoto said with a satisfied smile.
“Yes, Master!”
Zhou Lang replied, then obediently sat down.
“Mr. Yamamoto, it worked?”
Ye Tian asked, barely containing his excitement upon seeing that Zhou Lang had been completely controlled by Yamamoto.
“Indeed. His mind is far more stable than most, and it’s no surprise that Miss Ye’s charm magic couldn’t control him, given her limited training. However, he stands no chance against my mental control. From now on, he’s nothing more than a mindless puppet, at your complete disposal. You can make him do whatever you want,” Yamamoto said smugly.
“Mr. Yamamoto’s mental control technique is truly impressive, worthy of admiration! So now, I can have Zhou Lang call General Qin!”
Ye Qianqian exclaimed, thrilled.
“Mr. Yamamoto, thank you so much. Here’s a check for five million yuan. Please accept it as a token of our gratitude,” Ye Tian said, producing a check and handing it to Yamamoto.
“Such audacity! Both this foreigner and the Ye family dare to scheme against me!”
Just as Yamamoto reached out to accept the check from Ye Tian, Zhou Lang’s previously dull eyes suddenly flashed with brilliance. He slammed his hand onto the table, his voice cold and commanding. Luckily, he hadn’t used his full strength or the table would have been reduced to dust.
This time, it wasn’t just Ye Qianqian and Ye Tian who were shocked—Yamamoto’s expression also changed drastically.
“You… you broke free from my mental control?”
Yamamoto stammered, his voice trembling. He couldn’t believe it. In both Japan and Southeast Asia, he was a renowned master of mental control. Since his debut, he had never failed.
“Yamamoto, mental control is a profound and intricate art. Unfortunately, you’ve only grasped a shallow, inferior technique. You, a foreigner, dare to come here and cause harm? Aren’t you afraid of dying in a foreign land?” Zhou Lang said slowly, standing up and looking at Yamamoto.
In recent times, alongside his cultivation, Zhou Lang had begun studying formations. Among them were illusion formations, which combined illusionary techniques with magical tools to create arrays that could cause hallucinations and control people’s minds.
In other words, the illusion techniques Zhou Lang had learned were far superior to Yamamoto’s mental control. Moreover, as a cultivator, Zhou Lang’s mind was far more stable than that of an ordinary person. There was no way he would fall for Yamamoto’s tricks.
Earlier, he had only pretended to be under Yamamoto’s control to fully understand the sinister plans of the Ye family.
At Zhou Lang’s sudden shout, Ye Qianqian and Ye Tian were still in shock, but Yamamoto Hiroichi’s mind suffered a severe blow, causing him to cough up a mouthful of blood, which splattered onto the dining table.
Immediately after, Yamamoto’s body went limp, and he collapsed into his chair.
